  • Air Con season is upon us and it's been extremely busy.
    This 2013 Audi A4 came in with the complaint of the left passenger side air vents were warmer than the right drivers side when the air conditioning was on.
    So just a quick video to show the simple fix.

    I experienced this today. Left side 28°C and right side 14°C. Saw on AudiWorld forum about recharging and you video confirms it. Thank you

    Very puzzling why this happens as theres only one evaporator ! ??

    Nice diagnosis Rob. I love AC work...great $$ maker but sometimes evaporator changes are pain. Happy customer & glad to see you're busy. That's the benefit of being one of the few that do AC work...you're quite popular in the summer.

    Nice one Rob. I would have thought both would be the same temp . Why would one side be cold and the other warm - just the distance it has to travel maybe ? I would have guessed blend doors but i'm no tech either. LOL

    • @OneAuto
      @OneAuto  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I would have thought the same Steve. It must be to do with the distance travelled & the routing of the vent pipes. Had similar on a BMW once, so must be a German thing 😉

      @morpheus232001 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I know I'm late. I've been wondering the same thing. My guess is that the system stops cooling the rest and just focuses on the driver.

    • @richardmills5450
      @richardmills5450 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@morpheus232001 Theres only one evaporator so I cant see why this happens even if the distance is slightly longer and its only slightly. ??

    When an Audi comes in with a problem and it was just a simple re-gas... You dodged a bullet there Rob. 😂

    I have the exact same issue on my 2014 A3. Ice cold on drivers side and warm on passenger side and back seats; as if there is no A/C at all there. Might try a re-gas!

    Would this solution solve also the oposite problem? I have Audi A5 and when heating is on HI it is super warm on the driver side, but coldish on the passanger side.

    • @OneAuto
      @OneAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No you might have a flap motor not working properly on the passenger side.

    Do you know of any reliable 1.9 turbo diesel's? I was looking into some VAG stuff, but most common faults on them seem to be the electric gremlins. Ford stuff just seems to rust too quickly I was looking into the Focus TDCI 2009-ish and they all look scabby underneath for their ages.

    • @OneAuto
      @OneAuto  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      8ile personally I would stick with your VAG choice.

    • @8ile
      @8ile 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm looking at Seat Ibiza PD130 TDI's. With plans of a stage 1 remap, for a little extra grunt. I believe the same engine found in some of the Golf 1.9 TDI's and found in the Skoda VRS TDI (about £600 more a year to insure than the Seat.) Insurance is stupid when you're young. lol.
