thanks for showing this trip Marc, it's a corner of Utah I have not visited yet, very interesting, especially for rockhounding. you're so right about how people end up with flat tires and other problems such as broken leaf springs on trailers... all one has to do is take it slow and easy on those kinds of dirts roads and one can immensely reduce the odds of having those kinds of problems. looking forward to the rest of the series.
Hey, Kenny! Room to breathe out there for sure. I used to play around with RC cars quite a bit, souped up hi powered ones, gas and electric. Every part on these little cars replaceable and or upgradable. It's absolutely true, higher speeds equals more repairs. I could go around my backyard track at a moderate pace and hardly ever break something. Or I could go fast, and have to visit the hobby shop later. It's a choice.
Excellent trip! So much history on that route! I don't know of anyone who has not heard of the Pony Express. After seeing the road I am glad my truck has such high clearance! Thank goodness I only buy 4 x 4 vehicles too lol. The creeks around here are like that road with wash outs lol. So much fun getting over them, you do have to walk the creeks to make sure you don't sink your vehicle and during the summer you do not mind the water.
I find it interesting that for all it's fame the service lasted less that two years. Telegraph took over. The march of science and technology is relentless. The wash I think is a good bet for getting back into there a bit easier. I know I left that way. Conditions can change though. After all, this video is 3 years old now.
@@midnitesilverrun8631 If there's any sort of name attached to the spot there will be people. I've been 20 miles down a dirt road in national parks and still find random people about. Most of my rockhounding spots are pretty private. Though many would not call them good spots, because of no water or trees.

There sure were a lot of people on that road. Might be the busiest road out there.
Lots of good rockhounding and camping too! :D
@@camplapidary unfortunately I think that’s the case with most roads these days.hard to find a good place there isn’t a lot of people.
