So this video was just demonetized due to a Copyright claim from FS Vines. I am pretty sure I am in the right with Fair Use Law in this video. Any IP Lawyers out there?

That's lame... I hate how TH-cam let anyone and their dog auto file copyright claims without any legal backing at all... It's ridiculous.
Firstly appeal it ; under the grounds of "Fair Use". - Explain that no copyright infringement is intended nor has been caused as it's fully and legally covered by copyright law. Ask them to kindly remove the mistaken copyright claim as soon as possible. I hope this helps mate, I have issues with certain videos.. the once I had a music company auto copyright claim the background music to my PUBG Live Stream... it didn't even match ! - Good luck buddy and keep up the awesome content ! :) \o>

I get told the same ! It's harder for us smaller TH-camr's to grow with YT's algorithm's not helping us but rather helping the big ones ! First of all congrats on 20k!! And 2nd, thank you for owning up to a little bit less than perfect affect! I thought at first glance it was awesome and didnt notice the mask error, but if i was going to replay it many times to learn the technique, you are right! You have a very strong sense of responsibility when you make a visual effect like this that many "creators" dont have and that is admirable!
Thank Ryan. Climbing my way up little by little. Not all the effects work out the way I want, but I figured this one would at least be worth showing in more detail because done correctly, it's still pretty cool.
Skyler Thomas I agree, but it’s also important for other creators to see what can go wrong and not to settle for “ok” and keep trying to make awesomeness!

Thank you! I always think I know what I'm getting into with an effect, but often something ends up happening that I didn't expect. Editing disasters are all a part of the process.

Awesome tutorials, Skyler! Thank you for all your hard work making these so clear and easy to digest. It's so cool to see how to accomplish these visual effects. And even though you said this one was a fail, I actually didn't spot the glitches until you pointed them out at the end. So, I wouldn't call this one a fail, especially since you only had one bucket of water and did it in one take!
I'm also planning to do some Zach King tutorials, except in Blender 3D, and I have a quick question for you if you don't mind. Did you have to get any permissions to include clips of Zach Kings tutorials? Or is this something that's considered fair use? I'd love to show clips of other content I've found on TH-cam for tutorial purposes, but not sure what permissions I need (if any) or how to get them. Looking forward to your feedback if you have time. Thanks again!

Woa, I should've read your sticky before I posted this. I suppose that answers my question. Geez, I 'm sorry to hear. This is exactly why I'm so paranoid about showing clips of other content, even though it seems to me to be a clear example of Fair Use. People are so greedy, next they'll be trying to demonetize us for even MENTIONING someone else's stuff. And all videos on TH-cam will be of people just sitting there in silence staring into the camera. Be careful about even rolling your eyes or you might be hunted down by the person who invented the eye roll! Grr .. sorry. Ok, rant over.
In any case, your videos are great and I hope you continue to make many more of them. Happy Editing!
Yeah, the way I used the clip should be considered fair use, but with TH-cam anyone can really claim a copyright infringement. The options are either to have the monetization go to that person, or risk a copyright strike against your channel. You can fight it but at risk of them taking you to court, so it's really up to you to escalate it. I didn't but I hear most people that do end up winning their appeal. That's cool that you're bringing these kind of tutorials into blender. I'm a blender fan, though I haven't gotten into the new 2.8 interface yet. I hope to get a lot better with the program in the future. There is so much you can do with it.

Yes, your right....I can see the error with the masking, or split screen....but for someone looking at it once... I'm sure most would not notice it the first time....

Your effect is great, one needs a really sharp eye to notice any minor problem with the effect. I haven't noticed any problems before you mentioned it.
I think you are doing great and just under estimating yourself. If you achieve 98% of Zach King quality, with doing only 50% percent of his work, then it's worth it not to be perfect. It is just not worth it to do another shot to get those extra 2 percent accuracy.
beside that, I enjoy watching what minor mistakes you did, so you teach us how to start good at first place.

You could have kept the stream from the cup, masked your friend from the other video keeping the splash making it more fluid and natural looking

For cutting out legs from the splash
One solution could be:
To clone the splash on grass (ground) on legs and move frame by frame.

I see that its really real but when you show how its work im amazed. But in the first video I saw that after the water pour to the man (edited) the water in the upper part (head of the man) the water not spreaded out in to the ground, I am an 11 yo child but I have more videos that edited from now
Plus the ZK vids have the shaky image effect to make the video seem like it was recorded by a live camera person.
Yeah, didn't add that in but will probably do a video on that soon.
