I actually never knew how to do that first transition and it was so seemless I didn’t realize you masked the next scene into the pan. So good!
This can be made into a simple whip pan transition if you have someone to film you. I don't always have those luxuries unfortunately.
Skyler Thomas can’t you just add a whip pan transition effect without someone filming you?
Ryan Schneider VLOGS well you need the camera movement in both shots, so I can’t be in the shot and pan the camera at the same time, hence the mask technique I used in the video.
Skyler Thomas I understand what your saying. I guess I was thinking of a transition plug-in for fcp that I use but only works for the first few frames

Loving the Videos man... I had a question about the Second Reveal when you snap from the desk to in front of the Fireplace if this used the same Principles as the first Snap from the desk... Did you need masking for that or was it mostly Clip alignment? thanks alot

Another trick I saw on a video targeting HitFilm users but can easily be done with Adobe as well: use REAL camera movement.
Shoot some handheld footage of a couple of markers on a blank wall. Then use two point motion tracking on the markers, and then apply that to your clip, and adjust scale to ensure the entire frame is filled. Voila! Natural hand-held movement.
Yeah totally a good way to do it. I know you can motion track a mask in Premiere but I'm not sure you can apply that data to a position property of another layer, but it's definitely a good way to do it in After Effects.
The warp stabilizer trick is GENIUS
Thanks. What is kind of cool is if you shoot the shaky footage clip with some specific movements in mind. You can add that into premiere, render out the clip with a horizontal and vertical flip applied, then when you had the warp stabilizer it will mimic the exact motions from the original shot.

Right now I'm using a plug-in called particular in After Effects, I might try and figure out a technique with a built-in effect so that people won't have to by a plug-in. Not sure it will work though.

You can use Shatter or Particular as Particular has a free watermark demo but Shatter comes free with After Effects.

Yeah I'd like to do that. I use a paid plug-in for after effects called particular, it creates the particle effect that you can track through your body using masks, but I think I'll try and create a way to do it without a paid plug-in so other people can try it.
@@SkylerThomas Thanks! I dont have Particular so it would indeed be handy to know how its done without plugins! Btw i saw in your Halloween video you use Saber! I also use that plugin and i also love it! (Its kinda laggy but still cool haha)

Here's an easier way to add the movement. Send your footage to after effects, apply wiggle effect. Boom done!
Totally, one benefit I like about the warp stabilizer technique is I can control how I want the camera movements to look or when by how I record the first shot. Sometimes I'll have someone record me going through the motions of the trick for a second time, apply a horizontal and vertical flip, add the stabilizer, and it's like you have the same camera movement.
