I was at the Lexus dealership in Atlanta last week. I spoke to the general manager and he said they can’t even keep the GXs on the lot. They’re moving them so quickly, so with high demand, they can still move the prices up.

FYI a one inch lift trim from lexus, so the 25 will be the same or actually be over 10 inches, please see the following info: *Note: The ground clearance is listed as 8.66 inches for all trims, but Lexus confirmed that Overtrail trims have 9.21 owing to their larger tires. Toyota also measures “running ground clearance” which is a measure of the single lowest point. I measured several places with a laser and found no place, aside from one point at the front suspension crossmember, where there is less than 10 inches of clearance.
I wonder if they will make more of them in ’25. I went to my local dealer and they told me wait time of 1 year. Nah, not gonna wait that long thanks though
Like the LC more, front end design of the GX, not my thing. Think it is a far better choice though than the LandRover Defender. The GX is also reasonable priced..... . In the Netherlands the LC diesel costs in basistrim 185.000 Euro, 100.000 Euro.....taxes because of the C02 emmissions of the diesel...ridiculous.
Will the suspension from Lexus be the same as doing it yourself? I’m worried it would likely decrease the down travel/artinulation compared to the 2024 model without a lift. Unless they reengineer the suspension system with the lift in mind.
What else do you know about the lift on GX550 OT+? is it fixed or can you lower and raise the lift?..I am glad I waited for 2025 model and that is the one I will be getting GX550 OT+ 2025
I dislike the endless TH-camrs saying everybody is a mall crawler with an LX...GX...4runner..LC. Maybe it's where people live? I feel a good amount of folks use their vehicles' abilities occasionally. Of course its a smaller percentage than mall crawlers, but not enough for every TH-camr to say the "Mall Crawler" cliché and to just discount the fact that people buy these vehicles for their intended purpose. When it's time (when it is some day released), I will be getting the LX600, triple-locked, KDSS, with proper approach/departure/breakover angles that match the LC300 GR Sport...and head straight to the trails.
Because a larger amount of people are mall crawlers which is nothing wrong with it. Not many people are buying a new car ($70k) then taking it off-road every weekend.
My take is that Toyota is now just rolling dealer markups into the MSRP so they get they the additional cash. They are marking up the most desirable version of the GX, but I highly doubt any of these 80+ k MSRP vehicles will find their way off-road - instead, people will buy the 4Runner 4wd Sr5 and build that aftermarket

How would a suspension lift increase the minimum ground clearance, assuming the lowest hanging point being the rear differential pumpkin (which isn’t affected by suspension lifts)?
I am not sure that people wanting the GX Overtrail and Overtrail Plus are necessarily those that CAN "afford" the price jump. Certainly true for some, but for many others, it just means their want may exceed their budget and they will go into deeper debt to acquire the GX they have been wanting for for many years.

Gx550 just seems like the truck the lx600/lx700 should have been from the start since it offers more for less including a larger screen, e-kdss and massaging front seats and full glass roof (that doesn’t open so traditional sunroof might be better). I really think it's time Toyota gives us an XL Sequioa and LX600 on the stretched tundra crew cab frame to go after the Escalade esv/navigator xl crowd to at least make it bigger to justify the price. Add a full panoramic roof and at least more basic captain chairs with a larger third row for easier access instead of the 4 seater on ultra luxury. The gx550 is basically the same size for less money and offers more towing and most likely better off road with the 1in lift since no ekdss on lx700/lx600 0vertrail yet we get three lockers. Gotta see what a ekdss overtrail + gx550 vs lx600 overtrail RTI score now with the 1in lift compared.
Probably because the LX is a heavier truck but the two have similar GVWRs. This means the GX can support a higher tongue weight than the LX which in turns means a heavier trailer.
@SkyWKing I think it has something to do with the suspension more then anything since ahc is still offered as an option on the lx. Same wheelbase and frame with just slight differences in suspension geometry between the two and ahc was never rated to haul or tow alot. The Sequioa on the same frame can do almost 5 tons towing and weighs more then the other two but has avs and rear air ride on upper trims which lower the towing capacity to the same as a gx overtrail. I'm just shocked the gx is rated for so much compared to the lx which has more power and larger brakes. I think the lx700 should be rated for at least 9000lbs in overtrail trim since it cost more but the lx700 has the 3rd row that they got rid of on the gx.
The Landcruiser is expensive for what it is...no third row, 4 cylinder, less towing. GX has the option of 3rd row, more towing, V6 power, 1 inch OEM lift, better tires, Ekdss, better stereo. The GX premium is worth the difference. The only other consideration would be the LX700h with triple lockers...not sure if they will lift that next year but the AHC is cool feature.
I would get the LC250 Premium. But in general, the pricing for what you get is insane. That is reason for me to keep my old car until the wheels fall off.

I get there’s a big market for off road capable vehicles, but I really think Toyota might end up cannibalizing its own sales. I’m considering a 4Runner Limited because I want full time 4WD. But a Limited Iforce max is the same price as a Land Cruiser Land Cruiser trim, and the latter has a rear locker, SDM and crawl control. I’m guessing the 4Runner will have some additional the LC would be missing, and I’m too lazy to go look at them right now but that’s sort of the problem. If I were Nissan, I would prioritize the XTerra and Armada and just make it simple. Give them both full time 4WD options, all the lockers and off road goodies and all the luxury stuff. Allow customers to add any of these options to either of the two platforms. And then make a base model Armada roughly the same cost as a fully loaded Xterra. And make that around 60k. Nissan could easily start stealing 4Runner, LC and GX sales by offering all the features people want on just two platforms.

Bought a last year 23 gx460 with 1300 granny miles for 54k. I’ll probably get a current gx or lx when it’s on its last year or the year after production ends for big discount. This is the way

No idea why they are doing price hikes as the new GX, Landcruiser and Tacoma are flooding the used market here in metro Atlanta GA. Used 22/23 tacomas fetching same price as similar optioned 24s.
Interested in a OT+ but no way, to expensive. Lexus needs to cut out useless crap like massaging seats, dumb safety sensors (lane assists, cross traffic, eye detector), led scuff plates, and current split tail design.
I've only bought toyota the last 20 years but no more. Greed will turn me off faster than anything. I understand marketing is trying to train people to say 50k is a good deal and im sure most will fall for it but that's a ton of money for a material item that depreciates daily. If you saw how much it actually cost in materials to make these trucks you would fall out of chair but at least the CEO will get another private jet.
LX600/LX700H is the very much the 300 series. sequoia is very similar to the 300 series as well. no one is going to buy a 100k Land cruiser full size luxury SUV . Thats why the new Downsized Land cruiser is selling very well.

If I was looking at the SR5 4runner I think I would get the new Honda Passport. I think it looks better and just has a NA V6. I think Toyota is pricing it's self out of the market.
New 4 runner is a excellent ultra rugged SUV and its turbo I4/hybrid turbo I4 are miles better than any V6 at every level from power performance torque and more. Importantly passport and 4 runner are not even rivals. FYI stop complaining about prices because 4 runner cost is perfectly justified and inline with its rivals plus this day/age. We still have a LC90 Prado, as much as I was a Toyota fan before. All these different cars and trim seems to be a company that can’t make a new real car. They just keep on pushing different trims and body… putting in what was aftermarket stuff. All driven by marketing and less about engineering… seems Kodak or Nokia days cream as much those who can’t see a walking zombie company.
The issue is, people keep buying, even at the absurd prices. As long as people are buying, manufacturers won’t mind raising prices even more. What differentiates Stellantis from Toyota at the moment is the fact that within a span of less than a year, Stellantis tarnished their brand reputation so badly. Toyota, while they have more issues now than ever, still has good offerings like the Camry and the cheap Corolla.
That is why aftermarket is good nowadays i think. So you are not overpaying and you can actually get a really good Toyota in good conditions for a very nice price. And prices are like that all across the world. More i see videos like this more i think that i made good decision and bought aftermarket GX460 2018. It is a LandCruiser anyway with V8 and it is a very reliable car, and you don't have to pay enormous ammount of money and you still get a very good car. I think wise people all are buying on aftermarket. Yeah, if i had that kind of money of course i would prefer to buy brand new cars, but since i don't have it, GX460 for 18-20k with ~80-100k km on dashboard is pretty good. Yes you should move your ass to find good one, but it is nowhere near that crazy 80-100k for new Lexus. And all the TLCs Prados LXs and GXs are very reliable and durable.

It's not an air suspension
A one inch lift is a nothing burger. They had to raise the price on the GX to not cannibalize 4Runner/LC sales next year.

It gives you more clearance everywhere else and then lets you fit bigger tires which help with the rear differential.

Adjust your expectations people, you can’t have a large body on frame luxury SUV for 50k anymore. I don’t understand why people think the new Toyota trucks are so expensive, aside from the dated Nissan products they are still a value compared to domestic and euro competitors.
That’s because most the respondents are rather uneducated or certainly naïve. They’re not doing any comparative price shopping on new state of the art vehicles. People complain that Toyota truck based SUV’s were dated and begged for them to be updated. Now they are updated and they’re complaining that the price has gone up too much! Good grief! SMH

No idea why they are doing price hikes as the new GX, Landcruiser and Tacoma are flooding the used market here in metro Atlanta GA. Used 22/23 tacomas fetching same price as similar optioned 24s.
Interested in a OT+ but no way, to expensive. Lexus needs to cut out useless crap like massaging seats, dumb safety sensors (lane assists, cross traffic, eye detector), led scuff plates, and current split tail design.

To be honest, if you know the fuel economy will suffer a bit, and you have to ask exactly how much, then this probably isn't the vehicle for you.
I've only bought toyota the last 20 years but no more. Greed will turn me off faster than anything. I understand marketing is trying to train people to say 50k is a good deal and im sure most will fall for it but that's a ton of money for a material item that depreciates daily. If you saw how much it actually cost in materials to make these trucks you would fall out of chair but at least the CEO will get another private jet.

LX600/LX700H is the very much the 300 series. sequoia is very similar to the 300 series as well. no one is going to buy a 100k Land cruiser full size luxury SUV . Thats why the new Downsized Land cruiser is selling very well.

If I was looking at the SR5 4runner I think I would get the new Honda Passport. I think it looks better and just has a NA V6. I think Toyota is pricing it's self out of the market.
New 4 runner is a excellent ultra rugged SUV and its turbo I4/hybrid turbo I4 are miles better than any V6 at every level from power performance torque and more. Importantly passport and 4 runner are not even rivals. FYI stop complaining about prices because 4 runner cost is perfectly justified and inline with its rivals plus this day/age. Gx550 is garbage compared to a lx600 and no comparison in quality to a gx460. Check out ih8mud from real life owners. Avoid
We still have a LC90 Prado, as much as I was a Toyota fan before. All these different cars and trim seems to be a company that can’t make a new real car. They just keep on pushing different trims and body… putting in what was aftermarket stuff. All driven by marketing and less about engineering… seems Kodak or Nokia days cream as much those who can’t see a walking zombie company.
It’s time to abandon Toyota and Lexus. They’re going down the same road as Stellantis and Jeep. They made their bed.
The issue is, people keep buying, even at the absurd prices. As long as people are buying, manufacturers won’t mind raising prices even more. What differentiates Stellantis from Toyota at the moment is the fact that within a span of less than a year, Stellantis tarnished their brand reputation so badly. Toyota, while they have more issues now than ever, still has good offerings like the Camry and the cheap Corolla.

That is why aftermarket is good nowadays i think. So you are not overpaying and you can actually get a really good Toyota in good conditions for a very nice price. And prices are like that all across the world. More i see videos like this more i think that i made good decision and bought aftermarket GX460 2018. It is a LandCruiser anyway with V8 and it is a very reliable car, and you don't have to pay enormous ammount of money and you still get a very good car. I think wise people all are buying on aftermarket. Yeah, if i had that kind of money of course i would prefer to buy brand new cars, but since i don't have it, GX460 for 18-20k with ~80-100k km on dashboard is pretty good. Yes you should move your ass to find good one, but it is nowhere near that crazy 80-100k for new Lexus. And all the TLCs Prados LXs and GXs are very reliable and durable.
