I learned about this watching The Lost Tapes Documentary on Jaco Pastorius. This cut is haunting. I became a fan of Jaco because of this song and my respect for Marcus is reignited with this tribute. This is the kind of music to sit back and reflect on how good life is even when the shit gets heavy. May Jaco rest in ever lasting peace.

This is beautiful. What's really amazing is just how many musicians Jaco influenced, in particular with, Portrait of Tracy.
Check out Brian Brombergs version from his tribute album "Jaco", which he plays on Double Bass😳🤦🏾‍♂️
Then there's Tetsuo Sakurai (X Casiopea Bassist) who does it on his "It's A Jaco Time" tribute album.
3 Boss level bassists paying homage to a genius in their own way, each version unique and brilliant. R.I.P Jaco 🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽
