I sure hope American Autowire sponsors you because you made my decision on their products easy. I'm restoring a 67 C10 and after watching your video I actually can't wait to tackle the electrical side of my build. Thank you for your videos they are always great. May 2019 bring you great success and happiness with your future builds and TH-cam Channel.
Thanks for the Video. I appreciate you giving us all the necessary info but being short and to the point (too many videos have too much unrelated talking but not yours. I have purchased an American Autowire kit for my 1969 C10. Your video has given me a good idea of the installation involved. Thanks again!!
Awesome! Just picked up the same wire harness .. thanks for the look into the project! Your an awesome builder Sir, nice trucks! Mine is a “63” great looker bought it from Alabama.. guy wasn’t a mechanic at all.. I’m fixing certain things… got 45 k into mine so far… Love the old steel.. Again, nice trucks Sir!
Absolutely Sir, love the red one you’ve got restored very cool color! I’ve got a Tremec 5 speed to go into my “63”. Behind an engine I had built by “Hot Rod Company” they provided at the cost of right at 10k a 383 Stroker small block. They claim on the web that they routinely produce 514+hp in these.. Bull, valve train geometry is way off.. I’m having to fix their f-ups .. I think they get a rotating assembly and monkeys do the rest.. Ha ha, live and learn.. hey I’ve got lots of pics of that engine, nice serpentine accessories drive.. definitely show, but I’m having to “perfect” their lack of “detailing” let’s say… “don’t bother with them” but looks like a 10 k engine, I’ll give it that.. Hey, nice rides Sir! You rock as builder.. Keep the old steel rolling… P.S. mine went through inspection lanes for Delaware. Only failed for lights.. harness is mostly fried..
Listen man...you do realize you are the best on the internet, don't you? All of us out here really appreciate you and your talents. I really wish our politicians had just one ounce of common sense, talent and work drive that you have...America is proud of you!!!
Great video. Exactly what I was looking for, very detailed, no nonsense, to the point, no wasted moments. I'm going to be completely rewiring a 64 impala. This helps alot. Thank you.
That red truck is stunning, cant wait till I get there, I have a lot of rust repair to do... I couldn't of done it so easily without your videos so thank you a bunch!
That's the way to go all new wires and new style fuse box you a gifted man everything you know how to do building trucks "1 man shop" you do it all that make it look super easy to work on trucks but I know it's hard work love your videos keep them coming 😉👍🏻
Watching your vids makes me miss mine... I had two.. 65 and a 66. I got the 65 in high school, and it had 25k original miles (292 straight 6, three speed on the floor (with low)). To this day, I had no idea or reason to sell it. Regretted it ever sense. I have a 89 K2500 nearly finished.. Bought it new.. frame up restored. Just need the weather to heat up a little, and stop raining.
Thoroughly enjoy your uploads. Like you, I'm working out of a single garage bringing back to life a '69 Grand Prix, so I appreciate the quality you seem to achieve in the space you have. I'm also inspired by your progress, and additionally, blown away with how organized and clean you manage to keep your work area. I try (and relatively speaking, my space is clean and organized), but looking at your working environment, I'm in awe. Thanks for positing! -A
Beautiful trucks! Thank you for thos video. I have my Dads 63 needs a lot of TLC. Shipping it from Hawaii to Idaho. Praying I can find someone to do this.
Doing some major updates on a 57 Chevy. Even though I'm a retired electrician, I'm NOT looking forward to doing the wiring since the goal is to make it VERY NEAT and hide as much as possible. Thanks for showing us around. As always, very nice work. Happy New Year !!!
Really looks good Gib. Followed you and the red truck from beginning to finished product. Great job. l'm just getting started on my '65 gmc. Have done some....sb 400, turbo 350, '76 chevy a arms, disc brakes, pwr steering and brakes but that's as far as the money went so far. Really admire your work. Keep up the good work........don't stop on this one, do another one.
I used the same vender for my 57 Belair. Everything connected up perfectly. I’ll use the same on my 61 Chevy truck when the time comes. Gibson, keep up the good work.
I recall watching one of your episodes that you put an ididit tilt column in your red truck I was hoping to see if you can list the part number I'm curious to see if I could use the same one in my 65 C10 which looks like you should fix that problem thanks again awesome work
Nice wiring kit for the C10 brother. I looked into the script valve covers you have on your Pop's 350 and there sweet covers but the price on them are way more then this old man can let go at this time but they sure are sweet and cast aluminum I would have never guessed they were! I'm also going with the Ram Horn exhaust manifolds less chance of bolts backing out and leaks. I just picked up a nice clean older Eddy C3BX intake manifold with the oil fill tube for my 327 next Holley Carb. I'm getting there one baby step at a time lol... l can't wait to get all my other parts then get my 327 put together and dropped in my C10 this summer God Willing. I haven't made my mind up yet if I'm going to stay with the original 3 on the tree and it's old M318 3 speed tranny or pick up a rebuilt Turbo 350 auto tranny for my C10 ?? Eather way it's going to be alot more fun driving around my old Blue Smurff C10 after I switch out engines. That old 250 in-line 6 cylinder just keeps going an going but there not much fun for a Saturday night run if you know what I mean lol... Remember what I said before if I win the lottery I'll get ahold of you Gibby and set up an appointment for you to fix up my 63 C10 shorty fleetside after you get your Dad's done lol... Gibby that's one sweet gift for your Pops. Keep on Trucking brother...
Yea man those valve covers were a little pricey but they sure are cool, good score on the intake manifold your right about those 250 engines thay just keep going
I was considering helping a friend on redoing his 77 F150 harness.. but the kits are waaaaayyy more expensive then we imagined. I was expecting up to 350 ish, but this system in the vid is almost a grand. Holly Cow!
Wow, your doing awesome gob, mine should be in the same stage yours is but it has been just hard to get on it, plus I have no garage, just a car port outside in the elements, but it will get done
Why can’t you be my neighbor? I could learn quite a bit. I’m doing an 85 camaro v6 to a carbed 90s LT1 stroker. Now I’m learning to fix all my wiring screw ups. I need a kit like what you had.👍🏻🇺🇸
Thank you for all you do . I have a 1963 k10 carry all (Suburban). I want to turn it all disc. Maybe you or your friends know what year is best to get for a front axle.
Appogzizes for asking I looked for the link on vendor for wiring hardware. I'm starting on a 65 c10 and would like to change out the wires Thx awesome work on some awesome trucks
Looking great! Never thought to use some soundproofing of the cabin? Or is that too much off the style? It must feel like listening the engine in a tin can.
So are all the connectors already wired on. I saw you solder the one connection do you have to do all of them or was that something different for a little insurance. I’m gonna need to do this to my 72 el Camino that burnt up the whole front end.
That wiring kit looks pretty good and fairly simple. I just stripped out my 62 C10. Where did you find it and who is the manufacturer? I need all the help I can get on the wiring.
Gibson63 could you do a short video on the Reverse light switch. I’m currently working on a 66 C10 and the current reverse light switch that was installed had a broken prong that is pressed to activate the reverse lights when the column shifter is moved down. The only problem is, the tab on the column shifter continues to rotate and snapped off the plastic prong on the reverse switch. Any help is greatly appreciated
Any chance you would start putting links to the actual parts you purchase in the bottom of the description of the videos? That is a nice wiring harness.
I keep coming back to this videos for a recap and motivation to keep this old truck on the road. Thanks
Can someone get a message to you

What supplies power to the fuse box? I’m confused on how that works. Do you wire + from ignition switch to fuse box to supply power?
I might have missed it if you explained it. Did you wire the voltage regulator or does this harness no longer need to use it?

I didn’t get the same wiring kit. Yours is very detailed and cooler... what did you pay for it? And is it better to just rewire the hole truck.
It was a little over $500 in this case it was better to rewire the whole trunk yes
Yeah I was thinking about doing that instead of trying to use the pre-existing wiring.
Forgive me for this but I never understood why my c10 has 2 small wires going to the starter. I know ones start but what’s the other for?
Is that steel mounting plate part of the kit? If not, where did you get it?
Great content and helpful videos. Where do you get your parts you replace for the c10? Thanks
Looks like a nice kit. I woulda saved a bunch of time and hassle if I would have bought one.
MrHevyshevy yea this is a great wiring kit the instructions are pretty easy to go by also
Getting there, nice harness ty for sharing
Did you order the wiring through the LMC
So this kit works without the firewall Bulkhead.
How hard was the wiring to perform from 1-5? 1 = changing oil, 5 = rebuilding engine/tranny?
So how hard was this project? Trying to see if I should pay someone or just do it my self.
Thank you for posting this. Nice pickup. Where do you get that firewall insulation with the tar paper on it ?
Classic parts
nice work gonna be a cool old truck
The Paint Shack Thanks man

I stripped all the old wiring out and put in alll new
So what wiring kit was that?
Where did you get the wire harness from
That looks amazing
nice job on the wiring, my 64 needs that kit too, does the dash switches come with the wiring harnesses?

Yes it will
