    I just bought this a few days ago and I love it! It picked up way more dirt from our living room area rug than any other vacuums that we've had (Usually the cheap-O Dirt Devil $50 Specials from WalMart). We also love that it seals in most if not all of the dust without it escaping back into the air. While vacuuming tile floors, it picks up everything instead of kicking stuff around. It's our very first Shark, and we're completely sold on it!

      1 year later and how is it working for you? Does it vacuum the baseboards well on wood flooring? That's a requirement for me. Thanks!

      Yes, it does. It's a very powerful machine. It's not very often that I buy a gadget that I'm totally in love with. If you don't like it when you buy it, I think they have a return policy of like 30 days or something. Best of luck to you!

    On Jan 5th 2022 my mum bought this NZ850UK, she is 5ft tall and 70 with a few mobility issues, so anyway it was delivered she took out the box switched it on pushed it around for 30 seconds, switched it off and said no I dont like it, its too big and heavy for me, so she then rings me and says you can have this Shark I don't want it (benefits of being an only child), I said so send it back then and get you monay back she said no I can't be bothered (obviously has money to burn) so i'm not turning down a brand new shark, i go racing up my mums, when I get there she's packed it all back away in the box as if it were never opened, I could have cried I was so happy! So I get back home and spend the next hour I thought pissing my neighbours off at 10pm but I didn't because its the quietest vaccum I have ever used, and the amount of fine sand like material I got out of my carpet was shocking, I love it, thanks mum.

    I bought this yesterday and it works perfectly. I came home and it really sucks good. I have extremely high piled carpet in my living and dining rooms and it wasn't hard to push or pull backwards. I'm a female almost 60 and I didn't feel any resistance. Now, my 80 yr old mother MIGHT have trouble but not the majority of people. I wouldn't have even thought about that if I hadn't seen this video and a few others that claimed the resistance when vacuuming over high piled carpets. NOW, it WILL run away from you on LOW piled carpets like an area rug. I WILL say, when you lift it off of the base, that part is kinda heavy and your arm might get tired if you have to hold it for a while but that isn't an issue. I really bought this for hard surfaced floors and that roller in the front really does help it not leave ANYTHING behind and I did see a slight shine on the floor where I vacuumed. All in all don't hesitate buying this annnd you really don't smell anything after you vacuum so it really must be sealed. I just wish it had that attachment for the ceiling fans though.

    Just found this channel after my Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360 died (fell down the stairs due to clumsiness, mechanically it was fine and flawless for 3 years).
    Decided to go with this model based on your review. Vacuum is just as described and your channel is a must watch for people buying vacuums. Keep up the great and very much appreciated work!!

    My mom recently decided to splurge on one of these as well as a Crosswave. She vacuumed our living room which hadn't been vacuumed in ages, and amazingly there were zero hair tangles. Even with 2 dogs in the house. Going to test out the pet power brush after my doctors appointment in the morning
    Update:
    Pet powerbrush worked very well! And also if you're wondering, the Crosswave is great too.

    I got this as my first real vacuum. Prior to this, I was relying solely on an old 500 series roomba for my tiny apartment and I was sick of having to clean out the filter and hair wrap with every use. The Shark has been amazing at avoiding hair wrap, and it seems to clean well. I bought this one because it has the new duoclean rollers, and I opted for it despite the fact that it's not a powered lift away because it's a couple pounds lighter than the Vertex. I wish the smaller head attachment was powered because using only air suction makes it very loud and perhaps too rough on surfaces, but I still 100% recommend the vacuum.

    Ok this is what I was waiting for. I loved the Rotator Lift away series and now I can get it with the duo clean system!! Right now I have their Shark APEX UpLight Lift-Away DuoClean and even at only 10lbs it feels very cumbersome to use. Turning the head on hard floors leaves scuff marks and is difficult to turn the vacuum even on carpet for some reason.

  • @ehh2681

    I just got a brilliant idea for the pulling bug on the vacuum.
    What if they designed it with the front roller spinning counterclockwise and the back roller spinning clockwise so they both cancel each other out. They could take it a step further by adding in a feature that rotates one roller faster than the other depending on the direction of the push or pull, so it’s easier to push and pull and feels like your pulling on nothing at all.

    I won't ever purchase another Shark Vacuum. The motorized rollers in the floor nozzle of the Duo models are known to break down, and Shark claims the entire bottom portion of the vacuum including the roller motor is a "wear and tear" item. They don't stand behind their products and will use any excuse to avoid honoring your warranty.

    I bought this right before Christmas and got a great deal. I checked your reviews and even though you didn't have one on this vacuum the similar parts that others had i made an informed decision based on your other reviews from shark to get it. What you said i 100% agree with and my experience sweeping is so much better than my old cheaper vacuum. The complete seal is a game changer with 6 cats. I use to sneeze whenever i swept but with the shark i dont.

    I'm about 95% sure that Shark saw this video and decided to bump the price up to close the gap between this and the Vertex. When this video first came out, I went to Bed Bath & Beyond with a 20% off coupon and got the ADV for $240(!). An absolute steal for this machine considering it's $320 now 🙄
    Anyways, I really appreciate this video as I love the Rotator ADV and I know I got an absolute value buy because of this channel. So Bravo and thank you for your reviews VW!!

I just bought one yesterday after seeing this video to help whittle down the choices.

    I'm freakin STOKED to finally make a comment here about you helping me choose the right vaccuum, this was out maybe a year ago when I got it or perhaps a few months back but there was the vertex or apex. One was $100 more and I seriously couldn't figure out why the increase besides one just advertising more for pets? I was flustered over it but just wanted the hepa filter because I have Asthma. The Shark Rotator Lift-Away Box didn't mention it having a HEPA filter I think but looking online it did so it was a "It has what I want at least" purchase.
    I have two cats and they shed a bunch and it shows up like crazy on our dark floors. I'm the weirdo who loves to see all that crap come out/off the floor. I wish the cord I didn't have to bundle back up each time but I'm pretty sure that's just a trade off for quality.
    It does absolutely drive itself on carpet and it's a little annoying, didn't realize I should lower the suction for it. I also did eject the roller head to inspect it and found a hair tangle believe it but super minor. I can't really think of what else I'd want it to do better. Using it for the carpeted master bedroom is the most disgustingly cool things ever.

    See this confirms what I originally thought about the "unsealed suction" test. What has the biggest impact on that test is the size of the floor head. So the bigger the floor head the lower the number.
    That's why Sharks with powerful motors will score lower in that test, they have the big head designs with 2 rollers that don't seal with the floor. I'm not sure how useful that "unsealed suction" test actually is.

    • @ToucanSamich
      @ToucanSamich 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's definitely not a very useful test, a lot of vacuums are designed with floor heads that have a small channel running off either side to aide in suction against walls. A great feature to have, but obviously it would mean a lower score in this test.
      I wouldn't be surprised if a plunger scored higher than most vacuums simply because it creates a perfect seal over the centre of the hole.

    • @Damitsall
      @Damitsall 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ToucanSamich I'm sure a plunger would have super high number. I think as long as a vacuum passes the crevice pick up test, this test doesn't matter as much. My point was also you have vacuums like the Vertex that have over 100" of water lift, yet have a low score on this test.
      So I think the test simply measures how small the floor head is compared to the motor, in practical terms.

    The new Shark Performance ADV Duo Clean with Powerfins model UV850 at Costco appears to be very similar to this Navigator. Can you confirm? The attachment has a brush rather than the fins though. UV850 specs appear to be 960 watts and 8.0 amps. 13.64 pounds. You indicated the power on the rotator was 910 watts. The UV850 at Costco seems to be replacing the UV700 which was 780 watts 9.5 amps and 13.3 pounds. It had zero-m which appeared to be the old style brush roller. Not sure if the UV700 (Performance) had a place to hold attachments. Was the UV700 similar to the Navigator? Which performs better? Also, one has higher wattage, the other higher amps. Thanks!

      @@luigimartinez1748 it handles horribly- unless you like to vacuum slow and in straight lines. I had a rotator model nv611 that is still going strong, but wanted to upgrade to the dual clean technology and move my nv611 to the cabin and get rid of my 2007 Dyson animal which was really heavy and did not maneuver well- actually it was a lot like the vertex. The LA502 is amazing. I should add I’m on the petite side but was really disappointed with the vertex, it’s heavy and I have 3 sets of carpeted stairs- even carrying the lift away and using the powered brush head on stairs was awkward. Thank you for the video! I was one of the people asking if you could review this vacuum because it was very similar to the vertex, alas, I already bought 2 shark vertex vacuums for christmas, one for me and my parents, and one for my grandparents. I will never not own a duo-clean vacuum after this, howerver I must note, we use ours more than the grandparents, and one of the silicone powerfinns that is on ours is freying and falling apart, which is not a big deal because I bought the lifetime warrenty for both vacuums (only available if you buy direct from shark), and I contacted shark and they sent me a new brush roll, and instructions on how to replace it, but I have only had the vacuum since december 28th and was expecting a little more from shark for the price, but they can keep sending me brushrolls and I'll keep puting them on. Looking forward to your review of that comercial floor scrubber I sent you in a private message, the Clarke MA10 12E. I will more than likley buy one of these rotator adv for the apartment I'm getting in a few months.

    Any plans to review Shark WS620 Wandvac 3 in 1 System? I recently bought it and am impressed by what it can do for the size, but there are a few things that bug me about it. 1. High speed setting is not a switch or a trigger but a rubber button underneath the handle which is very uncomfortable to keep depressed for long periods of time. 2. Batteries are in the handle and it gets very hot and uncomfortable if you use high speed for a few minutes.

    My navigator came with the hard floor hero attachment which made it so awesome for hard floors but they don't have them anymore with most of their other vacuums, which stinks because it's my favorite thing about my shark. I don't know about the newer lift aways but the hoses on mine are horrible. They cracked within the first two months. I replaced them with different hoses that were not from shark and those hoses are doing great. The only hose from shark that I have left is coming out from the handle & it is now cracked almost all the way around. The bad part is I don't think I can get the handle apart to be able to replace it. The replacement hose from shark comes attached to a handle assembly but the hoses they use are so bad that I don't want to replace a bad hose with another equally bad hose so I don't know what I'm going to do once it completely breaks in two. Right now it's taped but that won't last forever.

    I recently thought the UV850 from Costco, which seems to be the same as the LA502. I’ve noticed that while the vacuum performs well in normal mode, the suction from the hose in lift-away mode is extremely weak, almost unusable even in the high-suction mode. The rotating hose attachment either doesn’t spin or barely moves at all and is useless. Did I get a dud and need to return it, or should I just upgrade to the Vertex/Apex? Thank you.

    I find that the lift away needs remodeling. The hose is not flexible enough, it’s a bit too heavy for fine detailed sanitizers like me. Since you cannot stretch out the hose comfortably, it’s very tiring to reach upwards high as walls and high reaching hanging lamps who collect spiderwebs and heavy dust.

    Thank you so much for this review. I purchased the Rotator based on your recommendation and am loving the features. However, I am a small woman and the "self propelled" feature is causing me a ton of wrist pain that persists for days after vacuuming. This happens even when I vacuum our rugs on the "low" suction. The rest of our house is hardwood and tile. I am not sure if I am going to keep it or not. Do the other Shark vacuums in the same price bracket have that self propelled feature? We bought this to replace our nearly 14 year old Shark Navigator (the model that preceded the lift away!) and while this new one does perform better I can't get past being in pain after vacuuming. Advice?
