THE only channel that doesn’t have a video title of ‘camping in my Hilleberg or Durston’…a down-to-earth normal guy passionate about camping. Well done you are one of only 3 camping channels I subscribe to now. The others are all pretentious numpties who need to bang on about their expensive tent.
Please don’t ever change your channel is great 👍
Thank you Dan for taking me along with you 4:00 am here in Northern California grab me a coffee ☕️ and watch English Woodsman thank you 🙏 again 💙🇺🇸🏕️
Greetings from Southern California ✌️👏👏👏
Used to live in Cottonwood, drove all over the states for work, greetings from Utah!
This is my favourite camping channel. Every video is different and interesting, you're so creative mate!
Love these videos. Not a fan of tent camping… for many reasons but tarp and bivi is an incredibly minimal camp, and when you can be happy, warm and safe with that kind of gear is a nice feeling.
Great video mate be careful of falling trees in that wind lol as ya know....and your right there's nothing like camping in conditions like that it tests our skills and patience 😊..see you on the next one brother
Dan I have to say this I love ur eyes. Ty for bringing me along. ❤❤❤
What better way Dan to check out your camping gear good old storm wind and rain let's hope more sponsors get involved in your channel as you deserve every penny.excllent video as always 👍⚓☘️🇮🇪
English Dan, you proved again that you are the man buddy! Awesome video!👍
Great video. Love watching these from my cozy comfy bed :) Quite relaxing.
Nice vid, Dan. Hope you made sure to check for widow makers? Maybe mention it in your next vid! Especially if you're planning on camping out again during these awful gales hitting parts of the UK.
Great video. I admire you for going out in that weather.
Excellent and well done for getting out in that wind!
great video :) love the kettle, i would recommend with the tarp to have it grounded as you created a wind tunnel with the big gap at the back :) keep up the great work
Yes Dan! Love a bit of tarp and bivvy, not enough people doing it 👍🏻
My brother your like me. I love the worst weather possible as long as you’re prepared for that trip. Love the enthusiasm. 👍😎
Òoh that looked cold and miserable. Love how you brave all conditions and remain upbeat.
rather you than me making camp in all that wet muck and rain im a chilly mortal at the best of times and have two hot water bottles at night mind you im a old girl at 68 lol but i love watching you do the camping in the wet hope you dont wake up floating in the morning that seems to be a handy gadget not sen one of those before another reason ehy i like watching your channel your allways showing us new things so much stuff that different since i went camping in the 70s till covidd struck
Great way to spend a Sunday morning watching Dan in the woods ❤ i love the wind and rain it tugs at my soul. Lol watching you eat spicey food by the time you get the hic ups my lip starts to sweat and im not even eating it 😂😂😂 keep doing what your doing stay safe looking forward to your next video
Hi Dan, I have ca Kelly Kettle, on one trip I couldn't find anything dry to burn, however I always carry a trangia stove. I thought I'd give it a try to see if it worked. It worked great it sounded like a bloody jet engine when I fired it up, I also actually cooked the meals on it for three kids and my wife. The trangia burner is now part of the Kelly Kettle kit.
Well done Dan, come rain or shine our woodsman is there. Rough conditions, but you seemed to have done a good job with the tarp, perhaps a tent under tarp would have been better, a little more comfortable. Also you can dig a small trench around your camp to drain off the water. You do a great job talking to the camera, I hate silent videos! Have a very happy Christmas to you & family.
Love your channel Dan, thanks for taking me along on that windy and rainy adventure.
I carry a pack off cheap wet wipes to give myself a bit of a wash. You reminded me of my granddaughter when she face planted in the mud, she laughed so much! Great camp, looking forward to more. Stay safe Dan the man atvb 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🦊
Respect for getting out in that weather, Dan! 💪 Great video as always, keep up the good work!
Great Vid Dan, cheers, keep them comming ❤
In the 5 years I lived rough in a tent 2015-2020 freezing temperatures were ok, you can keep warm, rain difficult to dry clothes out if you had a hike back to base regardless of waterproofs. High winds worst for anxiety in the tent in a woodland. You could hear branches/ trees breaking but had no idea if they were the ones that would crash down on top of you.
Well done. Great camp and gear test. Thank you for taking the time to make and share the video. Stay well, stay safe. Helen with Kat and Terri with Robyn.
He inspires people to go outdoors and camp outside maybe in the month of may in the lakedistrict or near a Scottish beach in June !!! He helps folks get set free from the rat race !!! He's doing a nice job 😊
Lol, you just need a lightweight grill for over the top to cook with, utilizing the flame as it boils the water... great share!
Good video Dan should of brought some a bag of sticks with you . Kelly kettle Awsome 💚👍
Another great video Dan, enjoyed the tarp setup in the strong wind and wet... brave... anyone can use a tent... the eco fire starters are a great idea.... just a little tip for you and subscribers if you are using a hood to stop it falling over your eyes.... wear a baseball cap, keeps hood under control.... PS always notice you open food packs with your teeth Lol... small non locking neck knife? if legal in UK....
Dan yer alright we love yer ramblings
That was a wild night 😮 well done for sticking it out Dan. Enjoyed the video
Awesome camp EW, thanks for sharing.
Only thing I hate about the bad weather camps is all the cleaning and drying when you get home.
You're one of the only guys I watch and feel calmed, you're honest down to earth no drama and real, keep going love your videos, happy Christmas and New year 🎉🎉🎉
Love the Kelly Kettle style of boiling water.. my favourite way of boiling the water for the tea and coffee. Used it for years fishing on the river bank. Might try get another one in the new year sales. My last one fell into the River Shannon 😢
Hi Dan, nice one mate for getting out,, I wimped out this weekend and its looks like I made the right decision...lol I use the same firelighters from Poundland, also the firelogs are good too I empty the shelf when I go in there and get questioned about camping.. They think I'm mad too... Nice one mate loving your channel, four years subbed... ATB Chris.
It's horrible, eh boss? So why are we all still here?....Magic, God bless you 🤗🤗 Very best regards for the silly season, you are a great, great friend to so many people you may never know. Season's greetings everyone. keep well xx🤗🤗
Dan, your videos always make me smile. Keep your chin up as you do a great job👍
Just when i think your videos can't get better, they do every time, thanks again for fabulous content, keep em coming, Jerry from New York
Im gonna get my Kelly kettle out!. Loved the video best so far. 😃
Hats off to you Dan for camping out in that atrocious weather. 🌧 💧 I bet you wish you were in a ⛺️ tent. No hat tonight, 🥶 🧊 i see you had your favorite hot 🔥 noodles 😂😂
love your videos! most other channels people have to use £1000 hilleberg tents and £600 arcteryx jackets, but you keep it real and show that you dont need to spend thousands of pounds to have a good time camping! keep it coming! and go go full sachet bombay bad boy pot noodle :0)
You don't talk too much! It would be strange if it was a silent vid!!!
I don't camp, I'm too old now, but I enjoy watching you!
With 2 storms approaching the UK, you must really enjoy the festive period Dan. Love the video. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2024!
Awesome video Dan. I enjoyed every minute of that. 😊
Hey Dan. I'd love to see you use the tent tarp setup if you decide to use a tarp again. It's enclosed on 3 sides. I haven't been out in years but you're giving me the camping bug again.
My tent days are behind, but i enjoy watching your videos and can think back on those days👍
Good morning from California. Falls…..always keeping it real, Dan. It would be interesting to see if the fire starter you’re using, would work in a wood gasification stove…✌️🇺🇸🇬🇧✌️
I'm only 30 mins down the road from you mate and i got 66 mph on my anemometer and that was in my back garden 😂 well done for making it through the rough night, entertaining as always.
Love your videos so relaxing like ASMR keep up the good work mate 👍 🍻
Top marks for another cracking video mate, and a great test for your gear. Stay safe out there mate.
Brilliant dan great video and bloody windy or what
I quite like the wind, but that mud would be a nightmare,we get the koka noodles a lot but the chicken flavour,,im a complete spice wimp and i absolutely love a good thunder and lightning storm.
That mess tin set looks as though it might work with flameless heat pads that react with water to heat. I use a flameless cook set quite a lot where you can't really light a fire. Great for pasta meals, etc.
cracking Video Dan , love how you mix it up , tarp camping was a very bold choice in those conditions , so glad you didn't edit the slips out , they made me chuckle , I would of loved it also if you'd been in a hammock , would of been nice to see how that would of held out , and I never feel like you talk too much , love the conversations
Respect! You embraced a lot of suck on this trip. Rain, cold, wind and hot noodles! Seems like spicy noodles and you don’t mix. Maybe just do chicken flavor from now on. lol
Love the tarp camping, reminds me of the army. Liked the Kelly Kettle set up too. Great video Dan, more of that please
I enjoyed 'Uncanny' too 😊
The bung on the kelly kettle is so you can carry it full of water, I've got a full size one.
Maybe get a tent with inflatable pontoons! And don't forget the larger tent stake to keep the camp anchored! (LOL) Hope your family does well this Christmas, thanks.
Grat video Dan thanks!!
Using those fire starter blocks with the Kelly Kettle was a good trick. All you needed to convert that into a warming fire was a windscreen! The first time I used a Kelly Kettle I made that cork mistake. I took the cork out and the pressurized steam and water hit my hands and bare arms. I got a bit of a burn.
Epic video, and by god that weather was amazing ! Cheers for braving the storm!
Dan great to see you out and about in this weather, stay safe and warm mate, ps looking forward to hot tent camping 🏕 see you soon AkA Night owl from Luton 🇬🇧💯👍👍
Well done Dan.quality as always.🏴
Hi Dan thanks for the Sunday treat ❤
You look like you were making mud pies Dan, new mike sounds great.
Another great video Dan !!!!
Great camp and video, Dan. I love tarp and bivvy camps. Always great fun been so close to the elements yet nice and warm and snug in your sleeping kit. Like you say, great to be out in the wild enjoying an adventure in this weather.
Great channel, keeps getting better and better
Well done Dan another cracking video you stuck it out well bud 👏 👍 👌 can't wait for the next one
Greetings from Michigan Dan! Your videos are so wonderful to watch., Please keep them coming. You got me hooked on bivy, tarp camping, and so i ordered a Mil-tec bivy bag to try out with my sleeping bag, and tarp. I just hope i can cook as well as you do, ha!
Great video from a wet and windy mourne mountains Northern Ireland 👍
Keep well and warm marra!
You a brave man Dan.it looks grim.love you chatting.stay safe hun.xxx
Enjoying the video. Reminds me of being back in the Army. I’m thinking about getting into wild camping with a similar set up. Nice and simple. Keep up the good work
Great bivy camp Dan,loved it,
Can’t beat being under a tarp in the bivy in the rain,
Cheers
Great video Dan.
Thank for your time I enjoyed it.
Great video Dan.....off for a night in my Caddy on Monday 😊
Keep up the good work looking forward to the hi ups lol 😮
12:06, burn your lips off drinking from that cup….
You can get neoprene wraps that fit around the lip of your steel or titanium mugs,
[so your lips touch the neoprene when drinking]
Great video. I've never thought of using fire lighters before but I'll start using them now.
Great Vid as usual. Just one observation. Where you used the fire lighters to maintain a small fire. You could have put some small twigs and whatnot on there. Wet or not, with flames that intense, they would burn 😀
Fair play mate, that was windy. Have a great Christmas and new year.
Hi Dan, very brave to camp out in wind, it sorts the men from the boys. I was out this weekend (7,8,9,10 Dec) the wind was gusting 45-50. I was in a wood with old oak and beech trees and branches were falling all around. It was a little like Russian Roulette lol. Keep these videos going, they are very entertaining and informative.

Merry Christmas Dan
Really enjoyed watching glad someone went out in it as it was crazy mate
Hey Dan just thought I leave a comment to say great vids I watch every upload and iv just got a new zenobia 8 nightfall tent for next year to go away with the good lady and the 2 dogs can't wait to get back out in the wilderness of Scotland again keep up the good work bro and keep being that person 👍
Dan your a jammy git 😉 iv been itching to get back out but Scotland is pretty chilly already & unfortunately I have to wait till us parents have Xmas out the way before I can buy a hot tent & stove as I'm of a really slight build as it is & constantly feel the cold at home let alone while camping but watching your vids makes me all the more adamant I will get them & go back to taking some time away for myself, I suffer from bad depression and anxiety & solo camping helps me massively mate as does watching your vids when I'm missing it or feeling pretty crap! I'm looking forward to your hot tent vids like you have no idea & plan on taking your advice being that person that gets out again & does it in the new year!.....😉
Very amazing video well done and keep up the great work and IN high winds I mainly do A frame style with my British army dpm basha and British army gore tex bivvy bag
Great video, proper hard-core, brilliant
That was a challenging over nighter.
Thanks for your videos they are all great you take care god bless
Fantastic camp, keep doing what your like to do.
Just picked up the same hammock liner myself, but haven't used it yet. Have 4-5 days of rain coming in the Pacific N.W. and I'm itching to get out in the woods.
I've tried the noodle bowls with hot seseme oil, and it's a mistake to dump the whole seasoning pack in, more like 1/4 to 1/3. I found out what happens the following day. Lol
I usually pick up the 24 pack cases of diferent flavors, chicken, pork, beef, shrimp and repack in 1 gal ziplocks so they dont go stale.
1 pack w/japanese toasted seseme oil (to taste) some flaked red pepper, a small clove of garlic. I'll often add freeze dried meat and mixed vegetables I've re-vacuum packed as well. Perfect Ramen!
With freezedried goods you can pack a surprizing amount/variety of goods (1-2 weeks easy) just add herbs/spices, rice, beans, flour, noodles/pasta etc.
