110% agree that no one should cut living tree's down for fire wood unless it's a real survival situation, enough normally falls from them to the ground in most forested areas!..... Oh your food looked amazing tonight!
First of all people need to but out. Just because you're not in EACHOTHER pockets doesn't mean you're isolating yourselves from eachother. 🌲⛄ I WISH YOU AND ALL YOUR FAMILY AN AMAZING CHRISTMAS. Your videos have helped SO MUCH with my anxiety and have given me a purpose for 2024. So from the bottom of my heart, T H A N K Y O U! MERRY CHRISTMAS Daniel 💯🥰🥰
@@englishwoodsman love your videos, gives me inspiration, I had a triple heart bypass not too long ago but needing to get out camping, love relaxing in nature 🙏🏻 hot tenting is new to me, love to do it, I got a stove and all the things ready 😃💪
A wood fire is important to a satisfying camp. Wet wood won't do. Green standing won't do. By all means, bring dry wood. When we car camped, I brought wood from home that I had cut in a woodland. This has been one of your finest videos for filming, composition, and content.
It was me who suggested the collaboration, and I think I was right. You 2 guys work so well together👍 If we don't see you again before, you and Mr Vegan have a great Christmas. 🎄
i use Vaseline in between two cotton pads (the ones birds use to take makeup off) they are light as a feather and light straight away also burn for around 5 mins give them a try you wont go back lol
Great video mate. My wife and i did our first wild camp last weekend in Norway. Absolute wash out 😂. First lesson learned. Dont pitch tent at bottom of a mountainside during heavy rain😂.
Sir, Christmas is just another day. Miracles only work in movies. People like YOU, opening your life to the public, allowing those of us that only watch, to join in, THAT is a gift and a surprise for me every day. Thank you for my mental health and I'd wish you a better year to look forward to, but wishes are for folks who have targets to aim at. As long as you stay honest, WE AREN'T GOING ANYWHERE. Hugs for you and the family from Utah. Thank you
Water actually releases heat slower than the rocks or ground around it, if you keep a kettle on the stove while it's burning out the heat transfer will continue longer
These videos have to be amongst the most honest, down to earth camping videos on YT. Thanks mate, and the excellent work, and the I'm sure we all appreciate the time and effort that goes into making and sharing these videos. Wishing you a Meryy Crimbo, and a fantastic 2024. As we say in Cymru ( Wales) Nadolig Llawen a blwyddyn newydd Dda.
compared to some other so called wild campers, you do put the work in, your vids are always long and enjoyable, you take wild camping serious and i like that, hope you reach 1000k very soon ,you deserve it
Bringing your own wood to burn works in this situation, I would've done the same, hey Dan by all means include whoever you happen to be camping with into your video's it's your channel & I don't think any viewer could have negativity if you do, many others like Andy (Kent Survival) Simon a Bloke in the Woods, Steve Wallis etc etc they all do it & it works mate hell Blot has got little Mick. Go for it mate & mate a night of it. Oh yeah have a Merry Christmas 👍
Thanks for the video. It is so easy to forget things as you're getting out the door. I try to keep all my hot tent kit in one travel crate. Somehow I still manage to forget something.😂 I almost got that tent. Chose the Stove Hut 70 instead. Little more headroom. It also seems like my Washington state weather matches yours in the UK. Come over and see us sometime. Cheers!
Great video Dan watching from the southern US. No worries using baged wood I enjoy watching your camping videos. We are stuck in a weather pattern of clear during the week and rainy on weekends.
Another great vid mate, just got the locomotive myself, so it was good to see it in action! Still saving up for the stove, they're not cheap! Have a great Christmas buddy, hopefully see newcontent in the New Year if not before. Stay safe LNT
You didn't say anything to trigger this comment, but honest question... why do you all think we need to see you challenge yourself? At least, as far as myself, I watch you because you are open and honest, not because of your gear... Please, before I die, make a video just of YOU HAVING FUN WITH ANY GEAR AND FOOD YOU LIKE. I can almost guarantee you'll have fun AND views
Great update fella and Merry Christmas. I've been away this week with work and they had a wood burning stove at the place where we stayed, I noticed some birch logs in the basket and took a leaf out of your book and started the fire good and proper using the fine bits of bark, cheers for the tips and good content. 👍
Hi Dan Bringing dry wood out on a camp is not cheating that equals bringing a butane burner , and if there are no recurses of wood i agree with you. No need to chop down fresh trees you cant make them burn anyway. nice video and merry xmas to you too. best regards Kent.
I absolutely love watching your vids Dan as I sit here on my bed chillin to you chatting away. Makes me forget about all my worries as I imagine you living the dream. Something I would love to do myself but unfortunately I am unable due to rheumatoid arthritis in all my joints. Had it since I was 7 years old and I'm 61 now. And Dan, never mind those who complain and say you're doing it wrong or whatever. You do you Dan, whatever way makes you happy, coz you'll always have somebody whining, no matter what you do. Your videos are awesome and so are you. Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful wife and all the best to you both for the New Year ahead. 🎄⛺🍾💞
I Love camping the lonely feeling makes it amazing you can do your own thing away from your family I listen to the radio and cook on my stove Matlock area is my favourite camping area
Happy Xmas Dan, you have once again given us another year of great adventures and kit reviews, never get tired of your channel, and your other one which is well entertaining. I do enjoy the comradery between yourself and Vegan Dan...
Nice to see you out again Dan x my partner Bri the Jock wants to invite you up to Scotland at some point next year for a wild camp x looking forward to your next camp x your no 1 fan Scots girl x
The food sure look s good.. haha.. Sometimes we will use lint from the dryer to start camp fires 🔥.. works pretty good.. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas as well as a New Year! Cheers!
Dan it wouldn't be like you to forget something, I'd expect nothing else 😂😂 still a great video, I'm so eager to get back out camping 🙏🏼after Xmas fingers crossed. Hope you guys are ready for xmas! Best wishes & merry Xmas to you & the family hun & thank you for all the hard work you put in (not to mention money on gear) to keep us lot entertained, your a diamond!😉
Happy Xmas Dan. Wishing you and he fam all the best. I reckon 2024 will be the best ever year for you, looking forward to see what you have for us. Cheers
New subscriber. I really enjoy watching you and all your adventures. Thank you so much for sharing a part of your life, I wish you all the success for you.
One issue I've seen with all sorts of TH-camrs is that they over pack the stove. 1 or 2 fuel sources burn long enough to heat and eat, and burn out quicker so you can fall asleep with the fire going but NOT AS LONG. (Or as dangerous)
Thanks for all your vlogs this year been very enjoyable, I do like the hot tent camping ones ,maybe next year some kayak camping ones ,happy Xmas dan stay safe mate 🎅🤶👍
Something to try at home or in the woods is use charcoal instead of wood when we go out for a week long trip we take charcoal give it a try and see how hot it gets and how long it burns
Great videos, keep em coming... I take me hat off ta ya with work and family all the extra work ya put in, I tip my hat ta ya. Merry Christmas and happy new year to you and yours fella.
THANK YOU so much for taking the time to make and share this video. While you were scranning down on your beef stir fry we were 'enjoying' the delights of a British Army combat ration pack....your stir-fry won the vote for our choice....lol You make a spectacular video and we wonder why we have only recently found (and subbed) your channel. Such is life...our choice to be and do what we are and do. Hope you do get the chance to get out and make another video before Christmas/New Year but if not we'll still (hopefully) be about to watch. Stay well, Stay safe and a very happy Christmas and good New Year to you and yours - wish you all the good things you would wish for yourself. Helen with Kat and Terri with Robyn.
Yet another good video a true Yorkshire man who tells it as it it is I'm also from Yorkshire ( North) Have you ever thought about doing a camping trip at Tan Hill inn gets very wild up there in winter many years ago my aunt used to run that pub

Nothing wrong with bringing your own wood with you especially if the resources are limited. Hopefully plenty more Hot tent camps to come:)

100% bagged wood is the right choice for where you were Dan! I Agree!!
