    As a philosophic question primarily before a medical one, compulsory vaccines touch on a fundamental issue central to human autonomy. Firstly, no, pregnant women are cohabitating their body in a unique and miraculous biological process known as procreation. Their body is only 50% their choice and the other equal shareholder relies on the virtue of others as literally the most helpless amongst us.
    To the issue at hand, a question: how does one differentiate A slave from a free man? Diogenes the cynic jokingly rummaged through bone pits of human remains in a public display of this seemingly obvious but treacherously subtle quandary.
    A slave in their most basic of terms, is amongst those denied autonomy of the self. "So we are all slaves?" some object? Surely. Whether to circumstances, nature, a fellow people(s) or God, we are to a degree beholden as mortal humans to something greater.
    However, not all masters deserve the servitude afforded them. Nonetheless so than one man unto another. For humans are kin.
    Aside from the theosophic angle. If I can force things into the body (especially things unknown and without precedent) under "exceptional" situations, it stands to reason I can also remove things. Should we mandate organ harvesting for the "good of the masses"? We are born with an extra kidney after all. Should we all give bone marrow and have blood drawn weekly to fuel the medical demand? Is it not the same now that benefits are not to personally directed homeward?
    For if a man is at liberty to enjoy good a few good things in comfort at the ultimate expense of himself, he has truly nothing.
    Only two types of people exist; people of circumstance and people of principles. Should the present circumstance offer you the sense of vindication for suggesting vaccines be mandated, the support for such a proposal is tantamount to one selling their very selves to modernity. As we know, these truths of self evidence outlined in our scriptures, philosophy tomes, and political documents are not provided by mortals, and thus cannot likewise be forfeited, even of their own rights. The very definition of denying rights, even one's own, is "wrong".
    It is abhorrent enough that so many would bid it for themselves, but to endorse such protocols en mass is evil.
    Who here plans to survive life?

    Vaccines should not be compulsory, because there is a risk of vaccine injuries happening.
    Andrew Wakefield is often cited in relation to this topic, yet his 11 colleagues working with him were all exonerated in court. They had the funds to pay their legal fees. Questioning vaccines did not start with Wakefield at all.
    Doesn't the data show that diseases reduced mainly due to improved sanitation, plumbing and nutrition?

    • @ukgrime987
      @ukgrime987 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yet Wakefield is credited to be a complete liar when he tried to link the MMR vaccine with autism, which is a complete falsehood.
      Unfortunately questioning vaccines come from poor understanding and pools of misinformation online.

    Curious on your opinion on the recent mandate for covid vaccine in england (which has since been reversed).
    Healthcare workers already need vaccines to work in the UK, what is wrong with one more, especially since it's been proven to be safe. People oppose to it seem to have no risk management skills. Compulsory vaccination for a population is a bit different I will agree and I like your point about trust being important but the anti medicine / anti science steam train mostly from the US is gathering bogus support, mostly from online doctors. Curious for your opinion on that.

    • @OllieBurtonMed
      @OllieBurtonMed  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Have a video coming on this very soon! Just to be extremely picky (but I think it's important to be picky at the moment) it hasn't been reversed yet - they're having a consultation on whether it will be reversed, although I agree it likely will be.
      I do think the scientific evidence for having it is overwhelming, especially as you say in addition to the many that health workers are already required to have. I think the problem is that the science and politics have become so intertwined. To support the science is now to be a leftie or authoritarian. To spout bogus is to be anti-mainstream and free speech advocating. It's very odd and I think we're breeding a culture of anti-intellectualism.

      It won’t be a civil war because no one has the right to refuse a vaccine without putting others at risk and no one has the right to put either myself or my family at risk. It used to be compulsory in the U.K. there is no option to refuse on religious exemption because you have no right to put others at risk.
      Anyone that refuses a vaccine should have their medical treatment declined unless they have a valid medical exemption
