Same truck basically. I bought the TRD sport because it looks awesome and I commute a LOT. Sport is great for that and going off road every once in a while. The average joe does not need crawl control and rear diff locker. Haven't needed any of that stuff, and the trd sport is valued higher than the off road because it's in such high demand.
I've got the 2010 4x4 sport 4 door, 6ft bed. I have at least 500 miles of off road pulling a pop-up trailer with it. Never had a single problem with it. Extremely capable in the mountains or the desert. Best truck I've ever owned. A front diff locker would be nice but the braking method of power transfer works just fine on sandy trails for me.
You've never been in a snow storm having to go up hill on a completely iced out road have you? I've seen rear diffs come in handy several times including the crawl control. I would suggest the Sport over the OR if your truck is going to be a pavement princess and the 4x4 option for the sport if you sometimes plan on doing things like towing a boat (can come in handy on a mossy launch).
Can you all do a video on the accessories that can be added based off the pre-wiring Tacoma has done. I have a Tacoma and there are a ton of quick connects that have nothing connecting to them that I don't know what they are for. I don't see a lot of videos about this.
That’s not true about the 5’ bed only in 6speed Manual for the trd sport because I have a 5’ bed trd sport w/ automatic transmission…just figured I’d throw you a little fact check about that because that’s not for sure the case..
This guy hasnt been watching his orientation videos. On the 2nd gen you can't get the double and long bed in trd off road, but you now can in the 3rd gen.

I have a 2023 TRD Sport with ShortBed with Automatic.. Not sure why he stayed ShortBeds come with manual ???

Hello Michael! The Off-Road suspension is the same spring rate of the Sport, but is a little heavier duty for off-road driving.
Alpine Toyota Interesting Cause off road usually = softer to better absorb bumps and road or sport usually is more firm for cornering.
Sports is a little bit stiffer for better handling

I bet! Here in Canada we are stuck with a few basic packages, SR5, TRD Offroad, TRD Sport, Limited, and TRD Pro :)
