I had tickets to see that tour in Toronto, I'd seen Slayer and WASP before, but I loved Raven and was stoked, but they got turned back at the border, so it was just the other two bands.
They're gonna play in Monterrey Mexico for only 10.50 dollars, and if you already have the ticket for the Metal Fest you can go for free. Didn't know about these guys, but they are good! I'm surprised that it's gonna be very cheap to see them.
Saw RAVEN 2 nights ago here in San Diego, CA and they still rock!!! Always been a fan since 1983. John can still scream like the old days-they still bring the Metal. First time I saw them was here in San Diego back in 85 Stay Hard tour with KEEL as an opening act. The ceiling caught on fire & had to be put out with extinguishers!!! Talk about LIVE AT THE INFERNO!!!
by the time this album was released , glam rock or the hair metal bands were the main thing and also the thrash movement was becoming very succesful, so bands like raven were caught between , no glam , no thrash , just a nwobhm tryng to survive , and this was the swansong for bands like raven, tokyo blade, tygers o pan tang etc etc
Good description, Antoine. Now, if I may, I’m gonna ask for your help here, I’ve been hooked with a little new band from Monterrey, Mx for a couple of years now. They are a three-piece band (yes, ONLY THREE 😲) called The Warning. They are sisters and only 22,20 and 17 years old but they sound like they had decades, so tight and fierce. The point is many of their fans say they are not heavy metal despite the fact they have many heavy metal songs. I insist their heavy sound comes precisely from this type of bands from the NWOBHM. I’m gonna give you three examples of their songs which I’m pretty sure will add to my point and might make you agree with me: Please listen as follows: 1- Copper Bullets (live at Dakota Bar). 2- Queen Of The Murder Scene (live in Desvelados). 3- Money (this is one of their new singles and maybe this one sounds exactly like your description: no glam, no trash, but still sounds decent metal to me. Please share your opinion, thanks. 🙏🏼
I was just reading an article about Accept and saw the word Raven and this song immediately came back to me! Wow, what other great songs are still in my mind?
I can totally relate well to this song and seeing the video to this song on Metal Mania helped me go through the rough times I was having and it makes me realize that good things do happen to good people
The helmet is a Cooper XL7, Mario Lemieux used one in the early days of his NHL career. The song seemed better 20 years ago than it does today ... so too with the helmet lol.
I have not seen or heard this in years. One of those rare bands that you don't hear about anymore. Reminds my of those low key bands like Y & T, Swift Kick etc. Anyone know where I could heard more rare rock music?
Shit happens in life but it's not the end no matter how much it happens, people the closest leave your life and you'll have to always deal with tension and bad people but life just goes on and on no matter how hard. People come, people go. Live your life to the max and let nothing stop you from anything you wanna do.
Yeah, U68 is a fond memory for any metalhead from the Tri State area! It's too bad it didn't last longer--wish somebody would sell the Power Hours on DVD. One night in '87 I turned it on and it was suddenly a home shopping channel. I was like "NOOOOOO!!!!!!" with one of those slow-motion screams. But at least now we have youtube. There is some U68 stuff on here, like promos and videos with station bumpers in between. Those L'amour Brooklyn ads they used to play are on here as well.
What a treat it is to finally see this video! Thanks for posting it. Besides being one of the best bands of all-time, John, Mark and Joe, are 3 of the nicest people you will ever meet.
Very cool, I used to own a vinyl I believe it was called "Stay Hard" and had 2 songs on it the song On And On, and Pray For The Sun, this song brings back some serious young pre-teen heavy metal memories.
after listening to a few of raven songs for the 1st time, in my personal opinion I think they are kind of like englands answer to twisted sister minus all the flamboyant makup and costumes
I had this album. The singing was funny in the way they enunciated the words, kinda like 80s rap. What's with the hockey helmet? I think I got this cassette as one of the 12 Columbua House record club tapes for a cent. It was truly worth every penny, not much more. I hated that record club. So hard to quit and not get a judgement.
@happymetal76 Hello "happy"; Yes it was Rob Hunter, and (no offense intended) it was an AHAUS (Amateur Hockey Association of the United States) approved goaltender's HOCKEY helmet, not football, on his head, along with the approved wire face-shield...I'm a high school hockey coach...hope I didn't step on your toes!
One of the best guitar sounds EVER! ESP Custom Telecaster, with EMG pickups, played thru a Laney AOR (Advanced Overdrive Response) 100 watt amp! Ask Ratt where they got their guitar sound from! The MILF with the big boobs has been in my head since 1984 too, so I understand everybody's pain!

Raven were and is such a unique band. They stand in a class all by themselves. I particularly liked their stage garb; hockey gear and all that. I wishn that they'd still wear that stuff on stage today. LOL
@AgZarp No, they are from Canada, I don't know if there is a way of contacting the band members, but I do remember the brothers Singer, Guitarist and Drummer stating that they were from Canada.
I remember seeing these guys in concert back in 1987...it was W*A*S*P, SLAYER, and RAVEN opened the show.
I , TOO, remember that concert! In my opinion, it must've been odd seeing "hair metal" W.A.S.P. and thrash pioneers Slayer on the same bill!
I had tickets to see that tour in Toronto, I'd seen Slayer and WASP before, but I loved Raven and was stoked, but they got turned back at the border, so it was just the other two bands.
November 16th, 1987 in Milwaukee, WI
Went to that same tour. Specifically for Slayer.
I wish this band was more popular.they truly are great

@@Diegocrue los viste?
They are in Portland maine with riotact, and mound
it's nice to see a drummer who's not afraid to play the drums with his helmet.
You already know…..SAFETY FIRST, even for the 80’s bay-be Bay-BEH!!!

YanksOnTop I soooo miss the midnight power hour on U68
Man take me back to these days when this video was new. 85 . My favorite year.
Can't beat 80's Videos with all those amazing CHICKS ! 😁👍

MTV DEE SNIDERS HEAVY METAL MANIA June 15 1985 brought me here. I was just about to graduate from High SChool, . i barely recall this . THANK YOU !!!
this is a gold piece of heavy metal.....sounds in an amazing way
Saw Raven at the Aragon in Chicago during the Live at the Inferno tour. I still have Rob "Wacko' Hunter's drum stick! Awesome show!!!
Canadians can rock with almost any other country. Think great rock-n-roll, then listen for yourself.
I remember this so well. It came-out in early 1985. It was goofy but cool at the time. LOL.
I remember watching this video when I was little. Damn, brings back memories.
This just never gets old
The guitarist is rockin' so hard it hurts.
Mark is brilliant. xxx

Grat song it makes me happy to be a man alive in this world where youtube excist
Raven, such a wonderful yet so tragically underrated band. Thanks so much for uploading!
I agree with you. The Atlantic years were the best for me. Raven had the ROCK element then.
The helmet is a Cooper XL7, Mario Lemieux used one in the early days of his NHL career. The song seemed better 20 years ago than it does today ... so too with the helmet lol.
just bloody genius record label prophet going large! long live RAVEN!
Drunk ass partying 1987!!!! God this shit was frickin awesome!

wow, I had this saved in my likes back in 2008 I think, love the big tited blonde.
If you told me this was a parody of an 80's metal video, I would believe it.
Zee Risek yeah it kinda is. Raven was a band you were never supposed to take seriously. But they are amazing
They were just in Cleveland last week. Unfortunately I couldn't make the show because of work but heard good things about them.
Dr. Who, take me back to the 80s
I have not seen or heard this in years. One of those rare bands that you don't hear about anymore. Reminds my of those low key bands like Y & T, Swift Kick etc. Anyone know where I could heard more rare rock music?
The soundtrack of my childhood...
I miss the old U68 channel here on Long Island. They were more heavy than MTV and had balls of steel.
Thanks. Was thinking about this song the other day while listening to EZO.
Ahhh ezo another classic band. Burn down the night is stone cold classic. Raven are awesome too. What's not to like?

Except that Twisted Sister crapped out after their third album and Raven kept going and got heavier again after the Atlantic years.
