This still has so much potential, I hope they didn't give up on it already, after it not selling as good as expected. And I also hope the SDK community will release great drum engines for this. I don't own one so I don't know if you can use more than one SDK engine and if you can resample easily. But there is tremendous room for improvement. The Prologue and its smaller siblings became much more versatile over time and I hope this does not get forgotten. I love Korg's innovative ideas mixed with traditional tools and I would be sad if this ends up deterring them from producing drum machines in the future. Well looks like they already gave up on the SQ64 still can’t even have different drum track lengths like you can in the Drumlogue, and this is now the same age as when they stopped updating SQ64. Not a good sign.

Thanks man for checking it out. Yeah, thats why I got it used as well. Its a fun little machine with some limitations. Definitely worth the price now more than before IMO.
Thank you for your review, it's a very interesting product indeed. And in some way it is more advanced than the XD, for example its Multiengine is newer generation, and it also does provide an input that is missing so much in the XD and even the Prologue as well as a USB host input. They could have made at least the device port USB-C for compatibility and future-proofing. I have the XD, but I also easily see it playing well with my Roland SH-4D as a mini live-oriented setup.
Seems like a steal at $300. My problem with some Korg devices hasn't been the sound or functionality, it's the experience of using it. I started on a Novation Circuit years ago and using that is just sublime. Everything is so intuitive. I moved on to the Roland TR-8s and some Elektron devices, and even those are pretty quick to get going. This seems a little harder than it needs to be, but it sounds great to me. Thanks for the video!

I’m grateful for this video, so thank you for going to the effort of nailing down its details. I ask others to consider not buying this “drum machine”. I have seen them sitting at LM for years and no one wants them. It’s a waste of effort imo. Korg has let itself get lost competing with more capable and cheaper groove boxes since at least the late 2010s. It’s sounds are limited, the user interface and sequencer look clumsy to boot, the format you’re expected to learn is something else...? Save your money with something that has aged well, like a Novation circuit. You have a fun and comfortable pad deck, sequencer and motion record knobs. They also have great midi integration and a fully featured software app that helps arrange your samples and sounds. There are a lot of creators with free Novation circuit sample packs, or ones that are well priced anyways. The new ones are great, affordable upgrades to any setup. The new digitakt 2s will probably bring down the price of other elektron gear in the coming years as well.

Why are you deleting my legitimate comments?
I haven’t deleted anything. YT can remove comments automatically or filter them for review. I don’t see anything for review though, sorry! 🤷♂️
