- Learn the final steps of setting up your Dexcom ONE Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System (www.dexcom.com...) with this easy-to-follow guide on sensor insertion and pairing your transmitter.
1. Choosing the Sensor Site:
• Select an area on your abdomen or the back of your upper arm for sensor placement
• If you are under 18, you can also opt for the upper buttocks
• Avoid sites with irritated skin, bones, tattoos or areas prone to bumps
2. Sensor Insertion:
• Wash your hands and clean the chosen site with an alcohol wipe. Let it dry
• Peel off the adhesive backing from the sensor applicator
• Place the applicator on your skin, fold and break off the safety guard, then press the button to insert the sensor
• Remove the applicator. Your sensor is now successfully inserted and will last up to 10 days
3. Transmitter Attachment:
• Clean the transmitter with an alcohol wipe and let it dry
• Insert the transmitter, tab first, into the holder on the sensor
• Click the transmitter firmly into place and rub around the patch three times to secure it
• This transmitter can be reused for three months
4. Finalising the Setup:
• In the Dexcom ONE app,* confirm that you have inserted the sensor and attached the transmitter
• Wait for the transmitter to pair with the app and start the sensor warm-up, which takes two hours
• During the warm-up, you will not receive glucose readings, so keep your display device within six meters
Refer to your in-app instructions or Dexcom ONE User Guide for more information.
