    Hey lets do multiple major construction jobs all at the same time. I'm glad CBS Boston allows comments unlike wcvb .

    Boston traffic is the worst I have ever seen. I have traveled all over and nothing beats how bad Boston traffic is.

    Yeah cause public transportation sucks in general. It takes like 1 hr by bus to cover a 10-15 mile distance when by car you can cover in 15 mins. I wished they organized public transport in a much better way such as the MTA in NYC,atleast they got trains coming every 5-10 mins. Whereas in Boston, it takes so long for the MBTA Trains to cover distances.

    The population is increasing. So of course there would be more on the roads.

    Bus lanes, bike lanes, pedestrian signals going off when no pedestrians are around. Even at 3AM. Traffic signals at every intersection. Nope, can't understand why there would be traffic.

    I live in Waltham and work in the Seaport. It should be around 40 minutes each way, or at least it was before the past couple of months. On Wednesday, the round-trip, which is 13 miles each way, took 2 hours 45 minutes.

    David and Lisa are so right about there being random traffic at 2 pm. I remember driving to a tennis match one time. It was a Tuesday at like 2:30 pm. We were on I-93 S and the traffic was crawling. Where is everybody going at this time?? It seems like rush hour has gone from one hour to three or four hours. It’s insane!

    Took me 1h45 minutes to go from Davis square station to Quincy center on the red line yesterday. The T is so unreliable is why people are driving more.

    I take the 505 express bus to and from work and the surge in traffic makes my commute a nightmare. With all the traffic, what should be a 20-30 minute bus ride (10-15 when there isn't any traffic) takes 40-50 minutes. It's infuriating to see that car usage has increased where I live since if those folks took express buses instead, it would make the traffic not as bad. Just bonkers that there aren't more initiatives to get folks on the buses or trains and increase+improve service as well.

    I ride a moped style ebike that can go 30mph. I love zipping past all the schmucks stuck in their cars they took some high interest loan for. If like 25% of people rode around on Mopeds traffic jams would be almost non existent. Studies have shown this. But Americans would rather sit their fat asses on their phones guzzling starbucks in giant SUVs to get to work.

      Yea let me ride my moped to work in February when it’s -10 and the roads are slushy. You realize some people work in the city but live in the suburbs and vice versa right? A moped works for 8/12 months of the year if you never have to leave the city.

    I think the solution is to stop building so many new apartments. There’s so many new apartment buildings going up in Everett, Malden, and Medford alone it’s insane. Each new apartment is another car added to the roads. We need to start building outward towards the rural areas to balance things out instead of cramming new apartments in Boston and surrounding areas.

      Housing isn’t the issue it’s the road infrastructure. Also combined with how many new illegals are in the county, im sure Boston’s population has increased/public utilities are being used by people who never have and who’ve never paid for them

    • @crazylegs1324
      @crazylegs1324 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@walkingtransfer yes public transportation absolutely needs improvement. But my point still stands. In just one year with many new apartments going up the traffic in Everett has gone up substantially. Revere Beach Parkway is a nightmare now on weekdays.

    Get rid of the extra-wide bike lanes. Funneling cars into one lane creates unnecessary gridlock. The MBTA is useless for relieving the mess.

      What about the winter? I agree. Biking is the easiest way to get around. I did it for years. I'm in my 60's now. I pedaled from Brighton to UMass Boston almost every day, weather permitting for four years. It's all about comfort now. I like the heat. I like the AC I like having companionship while I commute these days. There are still hundreds of motor vehicles for every bike in the city. Cyclists need to start paying for use of the roads just like the motorists do. Gasoline taxes pay for much of the upkeep of the roads. Why should cyclists be subsidized?@@soarstar

    This state is woefully behind in its infrastructure. The roadways are 50+ years old in design and layout. Just look at the turnpike, route 95 and 93, not nearly enough lanes for the volume.
