The G3 Tactical is definitely a great move by Taurus. They really did a great job incorporating the basics such as a threaded barrel, suppressor height sights and being optic ready at an affordable price. One thing I wish they would have incorporated into the design would be an interchangeable back strap to accommodate different hand sizes. Other than that, a home run
I have this G3 tactical I absolutely love this firearm. Also have the G3C, the judge, and 856 ultra lite.38 special.. Taurus has been great for me.
Taurus has another Winner! I own a G2C, a G3, my Favorite- a G3C in ODG, and my son has a TX-22.... all have over a thousand rounds down range.... all are reliable. I've polished the feed ramps and there are zero issues. They run everything. This Tactical looks Sweet!

Well done. Love the finish one the slide. The usual finish is the only complaint I ever had about the G series. Also love the removal of the manual safety.

Taurus is definitely stepping up in the pistol game
I love the design and ergonomics of my Taurus G2C. I would pay extra for a better finish. I like the safety. Every time I move or touch the gun the first thing I do is check the safety. I check my safety a dozen times a day, so it's second nature. It's not a big deal if it's always the first thing you do. I have a 365 and find the Taurus more ergonomic...if only it had Sig's finish. Good work Taurus.
The G2c finish was not the best. the finish on the G3c, the newer G3s, etc is way better. They now use Tennifer except on this one and the other colored slides, which are Cerekote.
Brownells sells an easy to apply finish that's pretty durable, Aluma hyde I used it on a Kel-Tec p3 and has definitely held up much better than factory.
@@2aEdu Can order a G3C Slide from Taurus, or even a G3C TORO Slide. Will fit right on the G2C. Or have your G2C Slide Cerakoted. Not sure which would cost less though.....

This is literally an FN 509 tacticlone .. They did a really good job I just hope it holds up in reliability I’m still sketchy on Taurus in some areas but I really want them to succeed and this is a great start to doing something outside of a “base” firearm.

I own quite a few Taurus pistols…among a few other well known brand name manufacturers also that are a tad more pricy…and none of my Taurus pistols have ever disappointed me…it’s like getting used to Glock triggers…they just suck but you get used to them or replace them…all my Taurus pistols are almost stock…I do replace striker spring and sleeve and replace the recoil assembly to stainless…but that’s it…very dependable
Honestly I like it!! I like that it’s more budget friendly tactical options being manufactured these days

Taurus has made an Incredible Come Back Lately. I mean just amazing what they have been able to do. They were shunned by the gun community but for the most part they have really stepped it up I say from the G3C onward, Every gun they make have been the best Bang for Buck Options you can ask for. I like what taurus is doing they should keep it up.
I own a g3. It was a smoking deal. It shoots perfect. But now I'm going to get the tactical model.

The G3 probably has the best ergonomics of any pistol out there. Yes, even better than a Walther.
Taurus are good little tools never had a problem with them. Also never had trouble with the customer service..They are always helpful owned Taurus tools for many many years they just work..excellent video thanks for the vdeo and time 👍

I like the barrel, optics and color. Been looking at getting one for a couple months. The threaded barrel out of the box is a huge upgrade and I see a lot of people get the aftermarket one on the older models.

I may need to pick one of these up in the next few months. Optics ready, threaded barrel, suppressor height sights AND a decent sized rail. Taurus & PSA are opening up so many options for us working class folks that want a decent pistol but can't stomach the price of a glock or a sig.
*Edit: Anybody know if that serial number on the slide is just bare metal? I can see that getting super rusty super fast if you carry it, especially during the summer lol.

I have seen it for sale for 450, which is very reasonable in my opinion.
That’s just msrp, which aint nothing usually. Wait until it gets deep into the gun market they’ll be everywhere right at 500 or 400-450 I think

I've already got myself the Taurus G3c 9mm Compact and I put an Olight Baldr Mini 600 Lumen White Light and incredible Green Laser Combination mounted on the rail. Now it would appear that I'll have to find myself this Taurus G3 Tactical and install yet another Olight Baldr Mini on that one as I've also already mounted on my S&W M&P M2.0 Compact 9mm with her 3.6" barrel. I am really liking this new Taurus, I bet it ends up becoming my Wife's. Ha ha ha ha ha 😂

Very nice. All Taurus needs is a few police departments to pick up the entire line. Glock literally gives away their pistols, but charges out the ying yang for everything else. Taurus G series can use SIG P226 magazines. I run them in all of my G series pistols. CAA makes a MCK for Taurus. So you can pop in your G and you have a short carbine. Ignore the naysayers, the glock fanboys, and buy one.
Military & Police in Brazil and South America do use Taurus

Nice review 2a. The range bag looks pretty nice - similar packaging approach to the more expensive FN 509's. I also prefer having no external safety. I noticed that the slide still has the red dot where the safety would have been (in case you want to add one later lol). The suppressor/red dot height sights are also nice presuming they are metal.

I had an opportunity to get a Taurus G3 with the updated trigger for $199 Free Shipping. I should've pulled the trigger on it. I could've used to as a Travel bag gun if anything since it has the Manual Safety. Hopefully more deals like that pops up.
Who was selling that. I actually overpaid for my G3 cause it was mid-pandemic new gun buyer craze $380 & I was scared I wouldn’t be able to find the tan G3 black slide again. Now i see the thing everywhere $230-250 smh it’s only a 100 but it’s the principle lol
@@masterk5066 It was flash sale from an online retailer. It was really quick. It only last an hour and they only had 5 in stock. I should've bought it but I thought I had a glock 19 on the line for $299. Live and Learn. There might be another one possibly.
That's a really nice pistol and review! Recently I got the G3 and I'm loving it. The only sad thing about it is the price, about 5 months of salary (minimum wage - R$ 5500 or US$1150) to buy it here in Brazil, even though it's made here. Actually I don't think this version will be released here.

@@richki.24 I like it but it’s a thick gun. Handle is thick and you can’t put the safety on with a full grip you have to adjust your grip. Neither can you hit the slide release button without adjusting your grip.

I agree the ir9n sights can be used for cowitness with an optic. But I think the reason they are included with the new Taurus G3 Tactical. Is that they are suppressor height sights. You can use them with a suppressor on the end. Love your vids keep them coming .
Thank you. Yes the sights can be used for both. I was using the terminology that Taurus uses in their spec sheet that they provided to me before this video. I would also note that many times more people use optics than silencers. But I don't care what people call them.

The restrike is mostly a training tool. At the least it saves you from buying those training magazines that simulate a double action.
Even Taurus has surpassed Glock in marketing and offerings. Very nice gun, put me in for one ☝️

Hey my friend. First wanna give big thanks, you have helped out so much.
Im a new gun owner and have noticed that on some Taurus mags, while emptying the mag manually with my thumb, sometimes the case crimping gets stuck on the front edge of the mag.
Didnt know if this was normal or could possibly affect the chambering process. Thanks again so much and please take care
No prob 👍 When you thumb the rounds out of the mag, it isn't the same as shooting the rounds out of it. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Unless it happens while shooting. Then you have an issue.
I bought my first semi-auto center fire pistol this year. An M&P 2.0 10mm with a 4.625 inch barrel and no safety lever. Just keep your finger out of the trigger.
P. S. I bet I have been a Taurus fan longer than you. Only due to my age. My first pistol was a Taurs 92f. Still in my arsenal today. I own several Taurus models and never had an issue with any of them.
I love the g series I hope they make a slide kit available after the fact for all of us so we can keep our tactical black G3 to be honest Taurus should have had this option before now the tx9 I saw imported on some level maybe that's the new one coming next but other than the fact it's a g series it should be fantastic if it's like my g3 at all

It’s a long pull, but it is an excellent training gun because of it. It is my dry fire pistol and you get to perfect trigger control when you are working the gun in dry fire.
At the price point of the G3 ( I seen it for $270) it is hard to find a much better gun. The negatives for me have been the fact that I had to polish the ramp because hollows were getting hung up on the ramp.
After polishing, I still got a single hollow point stuck on the ramp (I loaded four hollows in a loaded 17 round mag) so If I carry the gun, I carry it with FMJs. With FMJs it has been flawless out of the box for more than 500 rounds.
At the range, the first pull is long but the reset is not half bad, and you can get pretty accurate shots with it. The long pull also makes it a safer option for some people who are a bit clumsy when holstering.

They’re called “Suppressor Height” sights. And that’s why they are taller. To see over a suppressor, should you get one. And that is the only reason. Not to co-witness, or any of that other stuff you said. If you read the Taurus paperwork you will see that is what they are called. Suppressor height sights. Pretty self explanatory : )

Sights are also tall to use with a sound suppressor.

Thank you! Looks like I'm going to have to do a video on this topic. A few people have said the same as you. Tall sights come in different heights. Taurus literally calls them co-witness sights. I have the data sheet. Its no big deal to me what people call them, but it seems there may be a bit of confusion on this topic. I will post the spec sheet on Locals.
I'm not arguing with you, it just seems it may be a good video topic.
I tried to give the G3C the benefit of the doubt but no matter brand ammo I used, Winchester, Federal, Remington, American Eagle, Fiocchi, Blazer, Magtech, from 115 to 147 grain, it always failed to eject with each brand. Trade it in for the M&P Shield Plus, have not experienced a single FTE.
Nice I'm loving Taurus's new pistols I got the gx4, the regular G3 and a G3 compact I also have a older 605, 357 Magnum also love the FDE finish on that
And Glock is still not making moves because they’re afraid to tarnish their “perfection”.

Taurus failed to inform me that the PT145 I owned was involved in a class action law suit, therefore creating a dangerous situation for the customer. So I got rid of 4 other Taurus pistols I owned. Their CEO cant even acknowledge my 3 paper letters that I sent. All they offered was a new G2C that I had to pay the transfer fee + tax, gas round trip and background fee for a $500+ new PT145. Never again, because its always something with Taurus. Especially those thin barrel walls. What's the point to have computers with customer registration information, if they cant inform customers of recalls etcetera?

Just got mine in today and it doesn’t have the dot that’s been colored red on the slide where safety once was .... looks nice and clean And yea your right it does feel smoother racking back the slide vs the regular g3 I think it’s the cerakote and dlc coated barrel ..... also noticed the trigger is way better without the safety
That is awesome. I'm glad you noticed the same things on yours. My G3xl and G3x also had the red dot, Maybe because they send them to me in advance? Mine was probably very early production.
@@2aEdu I’m betting the next step is modular frame that you can change backstraps and a more “Glock” like feeling trigger maybe call it G4 LOL .....also the case this g3 tactical comes in is very nice actually way nicer than the one my xr920 shadow systems came with

Depends what you like in a trigger. I love the Gx4 trigger. I have talked about it many times.
You forgot to mention a couple of important things my friend. Are these sights enter changeable with Glock and what’s the price of this g3.

There’s a gun shop in Kentucky selling them for 448 dollars. They have more then one shop I going to order from the one in Louisville.

Kinda funny that they red dot "fire" indicator is still on the slide, and painted, even though there is no frame safety. I wonder how long they sat around a conference table deciding whether to just have a dot (I'm sure the machining is the same as the G3) or to paint it? "What if someone puts this slide on their G3? They won't know if it's in fire or safe!"
