yass this, hr and the original deus ex i constantly replay. i cant find many games that give you lots of choice in this way. only thing that satisifes that urge is to make my own game the way i wish more games were
@@BrotherAzrael kinda like how in human revolution you got to actually stay in the other areas and do quests and explore. I feel this area should have been a hub where you got to stay instead of one mission.
Golem city should have been the main hub area of this game, not Prague. Its atmosphere screamed cyberpunk while Prague's barely felt anything like it. Sure, there was some good stuff about the Prague hub area I suppose, but it wasn't even close to being anything like the hub cities of the earlier games like New York, Seattle and Detroit. To this day, it boggles my mind why the developers were so hell bent on picking Prague for the hub world when there were so many better choices for a European location.
@@Jonathan83X if I had to guess, wasn’t Golemn city FOR augmented people? Prague had that discrimination angle where people hated augs including Jensen. Then again Golemn city was the worst place to be so it would have worked I think.
Great screen capture! Golem City was one of the best levels in the game. It showed the dark and oppressive futuristic world + this score that encapsulated the state of decay and hopelessness. DXMD is a gem, indeed.

I think I spent more than an hour or so just in the container area in golem city. Place was massive, shame the story was too short. The stealth made feel as if it was longer, but I don't think there were any significant side missions I remember from this area.... Please release a sequel, Square Enix....
The game was trying so hard to make Golem City feel hostile, uncomfortable and generally bad. Yet I keep returning to this level because of how amazingly cozy it is :D I'd love to live there.

As amazing as this game way..there's nothing I hate more than repeatable interactions between NPCs. Was it really so hard to make a complete scripted beginning-middle-end interaction?
because eventually there *WILL* be too many lines to write and they will repeat. The budget and number of writers determines wether the NPCs say "hi" or they quote Sheakspear and Plato every 3 seconds for 10 full minutes. Deus Ex devs explained in HR's developer cut mini videos that they had soo soooo many good idea but the fucking budget and TIME kept forcing them to cut , cut and cut.
Greetings. a question? how do you get those graphics? I'm playing it now on PC and it doesn't have that quality of shadows and lights. are they mods? Or is the image manipulated? I only ask because I would like it to look like that too. thank you
Not sure the exact shaders I was using back then but I normally use Reshade (just Google it and download the latest version) for gaming, or if you have an Nvidia GPU you can use their Nvidia game filter. I prefer Reshade as it has way more possibilities to enhance the games visuals. You could technically even have global illumination running on most modern games, though, the more advanced shaders like RTGI are not free. Just explore, use Nexus mods and look around for pre-made presets people have made themselves for specific games if you don't feel like creating your own.
@@simonroger565 It might be up for a challenge tho, that is if Cyberpunk composer is the same composer that did the music for Witcher 3 then it would be a great challenge.
