- We gave interior designers Sasha Bikoff, Becky Carter, and Courtney McLeod a photo of the same basement rec room-then asked each of them to create a new design for it in their particular style, however they pleased with no restrictions. Three artists, one canvas, each bringing something different to the space. See which designer comes closest to creating your dream underground hangout.

ABOUT ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST

this time all designs were great but Becky's karaoke basement scratched every itch that I have. the muted pink, the shapes, the images on the walls, art nouveau elements. please continue this series indefinitely, it's one of those I drop everything to watch immediately.
The only element that is missing is the cost of each makeover! It's a shame not to include the cost of each element with a total cost
This sure looks like she designed a torture chamber to "party" with her "skeltons". IYKYK.
@@isabellewhite3505 Well, it's Architectural Digest. The words "no budget" are a magic dream to a designer because their creativity can be unleashed to its' full potential. You can assume that the cost of these end results would be cost prohibitive to most people. I can tell you that they have used very high end (translation: cha ching ExPeNsIvE!) materials. But you CAN take the ideas and draw elements that are more budget friendly, for your own use.
@@sandraleigh4023 . Tbh, I don't mind the designers not being limited to a budget per se, But I am interested to know, how much each unit of item chosen costs with the all-important total cost for their design.
Love this series so much. Haven’t missed an episode. This time, I most love Becky’s karaoke lounge. It’s exquisite!
Same! Love these series
I am obsessed with Becky’s design. I want a karaoke room now, wow 🤩
Hey, now. We're house hunting... I'll have to find one with a finished basement ☺️
Sasha's mirrored walls and the ceiling, just everything is super imaginative!
While I love this series and how they’re allowed to go crazy, I’d love to see a series where they have a hypothetical client!
this idea seems fun but I love when they just do what they want and show us how far their skills can go 😭
Nooo every other show has clients!
That’s what other shows are for
Maybe not a client, but a more realistic constraint like you couldn’t move or take out the windows or move the vents in this example. It’d be more realistic for what people could actually do with their own spaces.
@@kevinkroll7285, in one of the videos… one of the designers confirmed that they’re not allowed to remove walls.
Becky wins this challenge for me!! Courtney's piano lounge was a too busy of a visual trip, clashing walls and carpet, with the wrong color piano, she should have went with a black piano, and Sasha with the fabric ceiling made the room look claustrophobic, just my opinion!!
That tented ceiling also blocks the vents. Those vents are probably important. I thought Becky’s ceiling treatment also blocked them, but noticed in the final rendering that she did expose them.
Fully agree. I adore Becky's design and can see myself in that room. I like all the elements of Courtney's but not together. I feel physically ill just looking at Sasha's - I wouldn't be able to go in that room without falling over and/or throwing up
Idk who allowed courtney in this series seriously
@@jacquelynteethank you I thought I was the only one who felt that way about Sasha’s room 😭 it’s very unsettling for some reason
I LOVED Sasha's room. Wow
i honestly loveddddd Sasha's design, i feel like the colored lights and the plants went so well together, it reminds me of a shisha club
becky's basement design is EVERYTHINGGGGG i love it so much
Becky's karaoke basement was the clear winner here! Interesting to see everyone's vision for this room though.
I liked Becky's but I thought Sasha's had true night party vibes. It was awesome! Becky's looked like it could also be used midday
Becky's design is EVERYTHING
Well done Becky. It’s unique, dramatic, memorable and neutral.❤❤❤❤
We need Becky and Darren in one episode!
Becky's design is the best. Soft colours, perfect decor, simple but still making a statement.
Becky’s design made the room feel so much bigger!! Looked like a hotel lounge! As for the other two… Sasha’s looked like a secret swingers club. And Courtney’s… Ooooof. ˙◠˙
Wow how were you able to add that emoji / sad face?
@@Tesla-Cannonಡ ͜ ʖ ಡ
I loved Sasha's and I don't think it has to be like that? I mean it looked awesome. LOVED the walls and the lights. So cool.
It's nice that they charge up the designers, but I REALLY miss seeing Noz and Darren's ideas 🥰
People were saying to stop putting Darren on the show and I never liked Noz’s designs 😭
Who saod stop putting Darren on the show? 😮 He did the best designs! I love him!
@@baluvideo idk I liked his designs too but people were just commenting that on his last video. Maybe because they used him a lot and people wanted more designers
@@David.124 people are strange. 🤷
This was definitely a "trust the process" moment, but all three of them turned out with lovely spaces!!
All so different and fun. Loved the vibes on Becky Carter's stylish, sophisticated creation until the very end (the chrome disco ball). But, all-in-all, beautiful attention to detail.
We will always support this channel. They're incredible at what they do.
Sasha’s space is visually stunning and luxurious but still feels cozy. I want to go to there! Sasha this is my favorite room I’ve ever seen in this series. It’s warm, inviting, and super dramatic. Cool basement!
I agree! It's amazing!
Karaoke room is so Beautiful and Harmonious, just about perfect imo...maybe without the big lamp but otherwise.... I´m impressed by her style for this room....it makes me think of cruise ship interior designing, or scenography...
I love Becky Carter's design!
Yep, me too 👍🏾🇬🇧💙
Each one is fabulous and wonderful! Courtney's works best for me, because she kept the windows, which reduces my claustrophobic feelings about the other two. I wonder why none of them enlarged the windows?
That was my initial idea too, but I'm guessing that the instructions were that because it's a basement, the assumption is the windows go down to the ground and therefore are immovable. Sort of like how they wouldn't let Becky knock down a wall in the galley kitchen episode.
Never stop doing this series! I’ve loved every single one.
Becky’s design was flawless!
The best of them all, for sure.
I love this series because as designers they deal with clients all day - so this shows more of a true expression into who they are
To me it reads more lux speakeasy than karaoke bar, but Becky once again knocks it out the park!
that karaoke bar is TREMENDOUS, love this series.
I love the pink room! It's so ethereal and looks like a painting, you'd forget you're in somebody's basement!
For the first time in a while, all 3 designers created something unique and beautiful instead of something so outlandish it made me think, "they can't be serious." I actually can't choose a favorite...I like them all! Each had a beautiful and unique charm. I could see myself doing karaoke in each of these rooms. In one room I'd lounge in that sunken couch area, in another I'd dance on the raised platforms around the walls, in another I'd play the piano and have a drink on that gorgeous beige tufted couch. All 3 designers did an amazing job! Congrats! Thank you for finding people with believable styles that appeal to most people instead of a select few.
Lovely nightclub/bar/lounge designs. I think it's interesting that they all went with that type of space and none of them went with what would be considered a rec room, but at least all their party spaces were fun.
Wow usually I have a clear favorite or don't like at least one of the designs - but this time - they were all fabulous!! Also interesting how Becky and Sasha both had rainbow and discoball inspirations but displayed them in different ways.
courtneys room is so underrrated the room is so cohesive at the end when you really look at it
COURTNEY didn't lead with the idea of a "THEME" room! LOL..She just designed a chic room that tried to keep as much light as possible, make it useful for more than just ONE experience and did it in a stylish and smart manner. The other two were lost in this teenage fantasy concept. It may be fun and cool for a party but for EVERYDAY? I'd be having nightmares after a while.
"cozy, cocoon feeling" with tons of possibly flammable fabric. (Also, let's cover up the HVAC vents with the fabric)...
Mariah would love that room! As always I love hearing the 3 different approaches. Really great experience for the us the viewers.
Becky, Becky, Becky! I love how she made it unique, comfortable, bright, and enjoyable.
I need to experience Becky’s lounge in real life 😍😍😍
i could watch a zillion of these
Neon desert party, victorian/steampunk underground party, and badly furnished jazz club. these are the vibes I got in the end :)
That Karaoke Room took the cake for me. So whimsical, yet mature and cohesive. It's my kind of clown show.
i agree with everyone in the comments that the karaoke room is definitely the winner for me
i could do without the light fixtures on the walls and the disco ball honestly but everything else feels so grand and luxurious and also just fun and exciting
I'd go for Becky's design! It's so well balanced.
There were elements I liked with all of the designs. Each is unique and doable. But Courtney is just so pleasant and likeable and so is her design.
Shame of you youtube for not having this front and center in my recommended!! So excited for another episode!!
Uhhhh…..these are all VERY creative😳. I was hoping for some greenery, soft lounge decor, bright (larger windows) space, maybe an area for crafting😅
All 3 ladies knocked it out of the park. A tie for me, all so different
One of the best episodes yet! Love the direction they all took
I love how when I watch these videos, I’ll be thinking ‘ not sure about that’ or be doubting the designs and then everything comes together and I fall in love!
This is the first time I've love all 3 designs equally. Great Job.
I really love Betty's take on this room. It looks and feels its like a movie set its just amazing
Suggestion: for each room give them a tiny bit of context - people, apartment, location. For example: young couple, 2 bedroom apartment, city center.
It would instantly make their designs more comparable with each other, and we could enjoy the different approaches and design ideas for the same room.
Love the show :)
Becky's absolutely breathtaking! She's clearly the winner here! The room looks so much bigger and cozy! ❤
Sasha's looks like a secret room designed by a teenager while Courtney just put all busy colorful patterns into one room that could give me a headache just by looking at it.
These designers came up with such fabulous rooms! I love all of them. I am blown away.
That Karaoke Room would’ve been perfect but without windows, it’s kinda scary. Windows for me is everything!
Really loved this one. Everyone did an amazing job!
Becky’s design was sumptuously gorgeous! Sasha’s looked like a massive fire trap…
Of the three interior designers' designs I have to say that I like Becky's design. Thanks again, designers.
i love how they all really went for it!
I like that this video was about creating THEIR dream basement rather then one meant to be more universal like other videos
Becky's karaoke room is perfection its elegqnt cohesive fresh id live in there and sasha's luminuous pieces are gorgeous
I loveeeee the lounge with the piano! Absolutely beautiful
As an entertainment room, they are all pretty fun. The Karaoke room is my favorite.
They all did so well, so much creativity 🙌
These rooms are all fabulous
I need more of these
I'm obsessed with becky's everytime omg
Sasha's design is wild!!!
all three are impressive but Becky did an outstanding design that captures all of the possibilities of this space
Im OBSESSED with the karaoke room
I think a lot of people are not used to having imagination so they can’t see beyond a 1,2,3 mindset (despite what they may think) when allowed to go fill *creative* most people stick with what they’ve seen.
I like that Courtney really goes for it, it’s also interesting that people didn’t have a problem with Darren or Noz did similar things when a bunch of patterns and colors but when Courtney does it suddenly stuff is too busy…
you can't compare noz and darren to her. Their styles are completely different just because they use colors, doesn't mean that they share the same style. Their designs are out of this world and their imaginations are really wild
Plenty of people hated Noz's designs. lol
@@jdp486 a lot of people loved it too
To me Courtney won this one. I must say, that I was surprised. But I could really see myself party in that room. (Just not clean out the stains later...) Sasha's felt like I was buried in a casket. Becky's color pattern just really put me off and those poles with the rings in it gave me the creeps.
LOVE the art nouveau stained glass
I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH
Wow. All of them, super groovy!
becky’s karaoke basement is lovely 👌🏼👌🏼
I'm not sure I have enough class for any of these! 😊
I NEED MORE OF THESE!!!!! I’m obsessedddd!!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
BECKY'S ROOM!!!?!?!?!?! HELLOOOOOO!!!! It's amazing! I. absolutely love everything about it. The colors, the ceiling, the bar, the STAINED WINDOW!!! At first I was iffy about the wall design with the dancing figures but it looks incredible. I live for this room, I love this room. 10/10. Bye.
i LOVE when arch digest goes live!!
Congrats to the archviz artist, it looks amazing with the interior designers project
🤣🤣 now i wanna see becky sing hollaback girl on the catwalk 🤣😂
Sasha's looks like its a hostess club in Japan. LOVED BECKY
The lady with the blue blazer did the best.
As a child, when Becky was offered a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, she would take the sandwich, run it through a mandolin, dehydrate the slices, powder them, and sprinkle them over marshmallow dipping dots
Love these 3 designers!
This series better than whole internet combined. ❤
Becky's ceiling design is a must have
What creative, beautiful designs!
She's back! I love Becky. I was thinking of her galley kitchen for days after.
Love love this series ❤❤❤❤❤
That was really cool! This is the first time I have liked all three designs.
The first time I love each design
I need that karaoke room in my life asap!
I love love loveeeeee this series
Becky’s design is as iconic as she is!!! I’m in love 😍
AD’s strongest trio by FAR. not one of them has missed imo
Oh! Sasha's just like me! We love Mimi!
Great combination of designers and beautiful rooms!
Becky's is the one for me! Gorgeous!
I need Sasha too give me some ideas on how to do A roof like the one she did in her design. Loved it.
Great timing!
I love all three but Becky's karaoke lounge, I need that in my life 😍
