    • @aichohvee
      @aichohvee ปีที่แล้ว +39

    • @vanshikaverma3042
      @vanshikaverma3042 ปีที่แล้ว +53

      @@aichohvee I don't think that's what she does, I mean as a designer you see a piece and you absolutely fall for it and you design the entire room around that one piece. For Noz that one piece was the chandelier, which came quite late in the video making us wonder what the hell is she up to. But after that piece everything made sense to me. The creative process isn't really like what it's shown in these videos, so you just gotta trust where it takes you and focus more on the end.

    • @antonettepatagan6507
      @antonettepatagan6507 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      @@aichohvee I totally agree. She obviously has one goal which is to promote people and pieces. Nothing wrong with it. But it's overly done. I mean c'mon a table in the middle? who needs a table in a foyer that is so inconvenient. You expect an open space to welcome guests not a themed park with a random table in the middle. But then again they were told they could do whatever they wanted with space. props to them for that

    European here. We leave our coats and shoes in the hallway/foyer so the fact that the designers do not immediately start with "you gotta put your stuff away when you arrive" really says a lot about differences in the "shoes in the house" thing.

    • @AskMiko
      @AskMiko ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Most ethnic groups in the US don’t wear shoes in the house… I know TV shows and films show this a lot but feels like a Caucasian thing more than an American thing (sorry not sorry). With this demographic dominating the TV and film spaces, these themes carryover while other groups either don’t show coats being removed in their content and seldom ever show outside shoes on the sofa or bed. Plus European spaces are way smaller than American spaces. Most Americans have two or three doors to enter a home and seldom use the front door as the primary entrance into the home hence the putting stuff away occurs in a different space (side door or back door).

    • @rebmosher5512
      @rebmosher5512 ปีที่แล้ว

      @AskMiko- You know what else isn't shown on tv shows? People washing their hands when they come home or before sitting down to dinner. But I am certain the majority of people IRL actually DO that and more 'Caucasians' than you think DO remove their shoes. How easily some people dole out the racist tropes concerning white people.

    • @rebmosher5512
      @rebmosher5512 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Doesn't necessarily say any such thing. We don't have a closet immediately adjacent to our entry,we take shoes and jackets off there and carry them to the coat closet which is in the next room. And then when we are leaving the house we get them.from the closet and carry them to the door and proceed to put them on. American tv shows and movies are not something upon which you should base your entire view of the life of 'typical' Americans. Not even the news is indicative of that.

    I'm not usually one for dark colors in small spaces, but Erick's foyer is absolutely incredible. I generally like lighter, softer, cozier vibes but everything about that design is gorgeous. It's dark and brooding, but sophisticated and elegant. What could be overly is drenched with natural sunlight. It has the right blend of old world and modernity. Those sconces and wall paper are so unique, and that statement bench is just 🔥.

    Noz works her high concept well, giving you drama, the fantasy of it all. Erick’s is earthy and soulful, even distant cousins will travel for a family reunion here. Mandy’s foyer got kissed by the tuscan sun.

    Honestly I adore Noz's aesthetic. Like it's maximalism at it's finest with a dash of surreal and pop art, but I am not sure about the practicality of it. There's some things you need to have on a foyer and a singular table in the middle of the corridor isn't really what I'd think.
    With that said, her creations are always so much fun.
    I do also love Erick's earthy minimalism. His designs are always very grounded and natural.

    Clearly Noz is a genius creative and Mandy is very talented, but the space I'd most like to enter is Erick's. It is a blissful union of the starkness of the steel and glass door and the concrete floors, with the richness of the mural and the Mexican salvaged church bench.

    When Noz started out with the arched doors in white, the arching of the ceiling, and the gorgeous blue on the walls, I thought, this is going to be beautiful! But then here came the gold paint! I was like, Noooo! I loved Mandy's choice of door, windows, and wall color. I'm a big fan of that Victorian era style. Glad to see it still being utilized. Erick's design was definitely my favorite by him so far. Stunning!

    Would be fun to visit Noz's B&B - love the gold wall drip but I'd prefer it in a different room if it were a residential home. Mandy's version reminds me of grandparents - my mom would love it. I think Erick wins this one. I wasn't sold on the wall mural at first but it goes well with the overall look.

    Love Noze's design 😍, it would be mine. Mandy's design is something that reminds me of my grandparents home. Erick design is something like one of your male cousin would choose and he's always nowhere out to be found, but sometimes show up in the family gathering whenever he feels it.

  • @pamlegaspi

    The point of these challenges isn't to cater to a client, it's for these designers to go all out or do whatever their hearts desire. So even tho Noz's designs go far out of the box, she's always doing something fun, creative and experimental. That's why hers is always my favorite even tho i find it impractical in reality sometimes.
