      I was fiddling with a PC yesterday, trying to install Windows 98 on WAY too new hardware, and I had slaves running about all over the place....slave HDD, slave CDROM, slave floppy, etc. There is NOTHING wrong with the word itself, it's only WOWSER'S that connect the word and the plight of humans forced into that enviroment. If you have HALF a brain, you know the two are TOTALLY seperate things and should never be confused. Some things just ARE, there is nothing anyone can do to change it, what else do you call a drive that piggybacks on another drives cable ??
      Someone has to STOP the morons of the world BEFORE this IDIOTIC side of the PC crap gets out of hand.

    Thank you for this video Brian. I was working a friend's laptop a few years ago when Windows 10 was still new to me and I didn't understand about the shadow copies of files. I thought there were duplicate files and I inadvertently deleted a pictures folder with 20k photos! When I realized what I had done I got a sick feeling in my stomach. I immediately shut the laptop down and brought it home. I removed the drive and installed it into an enclosure and then ran Recuva on it. Luckily I was able to recover 95% of the photos and the ones missing were still on his Canon camera. Whew! Lesson learned.

  • @dombarton2483
    @dombarton2483 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why did you not do a real life recovery..where you deliberately format a drive with data on it..format it..then recover the data so we can see how much is actually recovered. The reason i ask is because data recovery from a formatted drive is very different to recovering deleted files. That is a true test of the software's ability.

    • @ArthursHD
      @ArthursHD 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quick format is most likely fine, you can only copy files of the drive. Once important data is copied, checked, and backed up fell free to create a new installation medium.

    • @93SupaFly
      @93SupaFly 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      that is normal lol. You wont get exactly 3TB. its all because Bits, Bytes, and Prefixes and how computers stores data in binary format calculation. Windows read data or capacity of a storage in Gibibytes ( GiB ) and Mebibytes ( MiB ) instead of Gigabyte and Megabyte

      It is best practice to set up infrastructure in such a way that you never need a recovery solution. Most free recovery software can only recover files deleted in a healthy file system.
      I prefer Wise Data Recovery over Recuva

    • @ArthursHD
      @ArthursHD 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally, I use a simple temp cleaner script, DISM commands, and BleachBit when I find a need for it. Also, WinDirStat to find big files and dupeGURU, FreeFileSync to sort out the mess.
      Although, fewer files and less data will speed up tasks like indexation, scanning by anti-malware, and BackUp.
      I would recommend to get a big enough SSD and forget about worries.

    The simple way to look at the cost of paid software is this, it's $80 to buy the licence.....fine. Buy it, use it and get your files back. Then one of your friends loses some files they need, you use your software again and they get their files. Charge them $5 for your time. Then another friend wants the same done for their lost files, and another and another...at $5 per fix, it won't take long for the software to pay for itself......all your friends/family can get their files they want back (most times) and you get the cost of the software covered. And I DOUBT many people would complain about the price charged for your help.
    If their files are NOT worth LESS than a decent cup of coffee, YOU NEED NEW FRIENDS AND/OR FAMILY.....
