- Hey guys,
In this tutorial, I go over the professional and easiest way to unwrap and understand the techniques behind it.
This tutorial was made since I notice most of my students get confused about how this process works.
Happy modeling !

How to delete dashed edge green appearance my friend, you are very knowledgeable about this subject but in this video you showed us how we can do it easily. I wish you had made the video as if you were explaining it to someone who has no knowledge.

Can you please higher quality video? Like 1080p thx
geart tutorial , please make a texture apply tutorial.
My cylindrical object is a little tapered at the top and is bent very slightly. When UV unwrapping it, unlike your perfect cylinder I get a slight skewing of the UVs, and using the "Straighten Selection" doesn't help. My UV seams are also setup identically to yours, (Two islands for the end caps, one seam down the length of the cylinder) so how would you go about having it completely straightened out?
Oh easy fix for that one , so heres a few solutions :
1 - You can cut the piece from the top as explained in the tutorial but you can use a Planar project tool inside of your UV pannel to get it perfectly flat .
2- You can instead of Quick Peeling , use your Pelt map which is found in the hierchy meny of the UV panel " looks like a bear rug " and is found under the Quick peel options .
Hope this helps !
i feel you're egyptian
Would you make a Tutorials on Box modeling character instead of poly face modeling?
Honestly for me Box modeling for characters is a little outdated , i prefer the workflow that revolves around either low polygon modeling in 3Ds Max , Maya , Blender ect.. or High polygon sculpting in Zbrush then Retopology in those mentioned software above. Box modeling for character is a little old considering the amount of work needed to transform the loops around the animating areas such as mouth , eyes and such :D
well more often we get messy n hi poly object (triaangulated or optimized object rather than low poly) ..can you made how speed up unwrapping those kind of object ?
Hi Fajar ! well to trully understand unwraping you have to remenber that high polygon objects shouldnt be used in unwraping . The process is if you ever need to unwrap high polygon meshes (above 100k polygons ) then you need to retopologise the entire mesh and then unwrap that low polygon retopoed mesh and bake the highpolygon to the low
Thanks ! Helped a lot !
You switched from May to 3d max ?? Why ??
Oh did not really switch, i know both softwares proficiently and honestly I prefer 3ds Max more XD
cannot follow you at all
