I'm the palindrome of your age, and as a former professional musician, I can say this performance is quite remarkable. On a personal note (a little off-topic - pardon my wall of text): I love the technical excellence of the music of Chopin. I love the same about Beethoven and Mozart, and Mahler. But they have something Chopin didn't. He was wealthy and well taken care of his entire life, while the others in my example had very hard lives. Their music contains something the music of Chopin lacks: heart and soul, but more, it lacks the depth and grace of the divine. When you perform each, you can feel the differences deep inside. I have known other musicians who never picked up on that as I did then and do now. That's okay. We each can enjoy things for different reasons. That's the beauty of all the arts. Each can touch everyone in different ways. That's okay. More than okay; it's beautiful.
@@KLP99 Do you know what a palindrome is? It's the same thing written backwards as forward ... like civic written forward is civic written backwards. 86 is not the same forward as backward.
It's amazing to me that a piece of music written so long ago is still played and enjoyed so many years later. Those composers will live forever; what a legacy. Great performance in such a relaxing and pretty locale.

@@obscurelyvague agreed. There will always be "someone better" in some people's opinions, all fine and good, but then they wanna tell you that you're wrong. We liked it, cute guy or not, we liked it, and wish him well and success
@@skwalka6372 Actually, you do remember single notes. As Horowitz put it, you have to be 200 percent sure of what you're playing, because the first hundred percent will leave you when you sit down to perform. That's where having a firm knowledge of the details, not just notes, but chords, chord progressions, gestures, body language, overarching structure comes in. Playing piano at a virtuoso level is a monumental task of memory.
The way you put it makes us sound like computers. In reality, it's a lot more natural. I think it combines muscle memory, visual queues, and audio perception to memorise it. Every one of us might do it differently. Some are better some are worse. I usually memorise how different parts in an orchestra play it, but some people take it further and can transcribe a part down to every note, stem, letter, dynamic marking, and spelling.
If there’s anyone that doesn’t understand the level of excellence it takes to get a solid take like this with such accuracy, lemme explain: it is very difficult.
@some2l9 ?… his pecs are normal healthy athletic young man pecs. But the take was impeccable. (See what I did there? Im-PEC-cable. I am a god. And by “god” I mean “dad.”) Goodnight, everyone.
What do you think is more amazing; 1. that someone invented this incredible instrument, 2. a prodigy wrote this incredible piece of music 222 years ago, 3. this incredible young man just played it by memory, OR 4. that someone created youtube and we got to watch it being played and listen to it 4.3 million times?
It is hard to find words that can match the incredible beauty of what I have just witnessed. A piano solo on TH-cam? Who would listen all the way through? But your gift and Beethoven's genius would not release me. Every note coursed through your body and soul and entered mine. Thank you.
And yes, this musician this Peter Buka made Beethoven swing!!! The only other pianist to do this was the late André Watts. You can feel this is how Beethoven felt!!!!

I'm mesmerized by pianists like Daniel Barenboim on his performances of Beethoven - and my greatest and sincerest compliment to you young man.... you are right up there with Mr Barenboim with your Beethoven talent. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL ! Play all the stuff you want to play for sure, but keep a part of your heart for this too because you are so bloody good at it!
There is a utube of a 2 yr old boy hearing Beethoven for the 1st time at a piano recital. It's so sweet, his emotions. Comments on the video varied. I thought it was touching.
Maravilloso
Bravo again...amazing.. his fingers glided over the keys, like a figure skater on ice.. chills, chills.
🙏🙏🙏🎼🎼🎼👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤❤
Верно!! Присоединяюсь!!❤❤
This never goes out of style. This is an excellent performance. Thank you for sharing your time and talent with US.. Bravo!!
I am so moved by this video!!! It's amazing to see (and hear) a young fellow like this one, playing so masterfully a classic piece of music! This gives me hope! I thought all youngsters would only listen to rap, hip hop and reggaeton!!! BRAVO!!!! 👏👏👏
I think I just fell in love.
Old enough to be this kids mom, but my goodness what a beauty.
Same here!
Calm down and enjoy the music.
@@dougdiplacido2406Buzz kill. Ha ha. There’s much to enjoy in this video. How about that scenery? Blue sky, waves, sunshine…….
Ur weird
He looks like a teenager. You people are weird.
Thank yo Peter, greatly appreciated by this 86 year old. A breath of fresh air!
You have 12 years on me, but I enjoyed it just as you did.
@@djondjon We knew that he meant "retrograde."
Браво, Брависсимо!!! ❤❤❤Такое вдохновенное исполнение , Благодарю искренне, пианист -виртуоз, Браво!!! ❤❤❤
Бесподобно, благодарю за подаренные эмоции, наслаждение!
whoever finished and/or polished that piano deserves a reward!
Still ranks as one of Beethoven's most stirring and iconic piano pieces.
this was gorgeous. beyond his physical beauty, this was gorgeous.
I totally agree !!

Congratulations you freakin genius, you brought me to tears. Encore!

It's amazing to me that a piece of music written so long ago is still played and enjoyed so many years later. Those composers will live forever; what a legacy. Great performance in such a relaxing and pretty locale.
❤❤❤❤❤
I’ve suffered that loss. 2016, 2017, 2020, 2021, 2023. I understand and may God bless you. His music is very warming to the heart and he plays beautifully
God loves yall! and Jesus is King! read the Bible! Seek The Lord! The Lord Almighty! with all your heart and soul and strength and mind! Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A truly excellent performance, played with discernment, grace and a feeling of relaxed ease, as if the formidable difficulties were nothing. This attractive young man performing shirtless is certainly eye candy and should he choose to, could have a dazzling career on the concert stage as an up and coming pianist.
"@warrenabeshouse1230" Of course he should be wearing a tuxedo.
@@TheFigaro666 The average person cannot hope to be this good. I guess you are a purist though.
@@obscurelyvague agreed. There will always be "someone better" in some people's opinions, all fine and good, but then they wanna tell you that you're wrong. We liked it, cute guy or not, we liked it, and wish him well and success
Rather beautiful - the music’s nice too🤣
Not only a perfect rendition of one of the most difficult pieces of piano music, but this dude did it from MEMORY.
how is it possible to have every single note of hundert different songs in your head. incredible talent. im stunned every time again. amazing.
Pianists do this all the time.
You dont remember single notes, you actually remember sets and subsets of notes through a combination of muscle and auditory memory,
@@skwalka6372 Yep. And this piece is highly patterned and sequential.
Woud lLudwig approve of this rendition?
as a keybordist in the band i agree with you classical like this piece is so difficult
@@VocalEdgeTV i like you
no its not i learnt it in 6 months as an egotistical little kid who wanted to show off and it wasnt so hard if you focus @@jasminwu6360
It’s so beautiful to see that young man playing in this. And he’s not even using sheet music 😮
Or his shirt 😂❤😅
(Psst -- it's a lot harder to read sheet music this complicated in the moment than to simply memorise the entire piece by heart).
as @johnathantaylor5913 already said: When you've gotten this good at a certain piece, there is no need for sheets anymore.
@@johnathantaylor5913 That is true. I memorize every piece just for that reason.
No sheet music, no shirt!
It so nice to see the young generation appreciate an old generation classic music in such a unique way
What old generation are you referring to ?
Que maravilla !!!!!
Beethoven is timeless
Bravo, although the piano needs a bit of tuning
Not old it's always epic
It is hard to find words that can match the incredible beauty of what I have just witnessed. A piano solo on TH-cam? Who would listen all the way through? But your gift and Beethoven's genius would not release me. Every note coursed through your body and soul and entered mine. Thank you.
I did... I do
@@Concnor
Ditto.
And yes, this musician this Peter Buka made Beethoven swing!!! The only other pianist to do this was the late André Watts. You can feel this is how Beethoven felt!!!!
curious what you mean by "Who would listen all the way through?"
It’s so strange seeing a great piano and player in such a setting. Fantastic.
Not only is this one of the most impressive performances I've ever seen, I cried.
Tears in my eyes. Undescribable how beautifull....
From cool clothes and shirt's to no shirt Viedo.... This man can do anything for piano ❤🎹
He doesn't match Gen Hirano's sartorial splendor, but technique is pretty good.
I''ll give it a 9.3
He probably knows the correct way to write the plural of shirts, too.
