    So pretty! I found making the wax seals on tracing/baking paper so efficient when making them in bulk as you can just peel them up ready to go

    If you do the seal on a silicon mat, tile or granite etc you eill not need to cut it out as it will not stick to the surface.
    Its a lovely card

      Hi
      Thank you. That's a really good tip. We've actually done a TH-cam tutorial where we've done that on a non stick metal baking tray and that also works wonderfully.
      Glad you like the card. It's one of my favourites.

    Hello this is my first time on your channel and this is a beautiful invitation I wanted to know did you use the SVG file and if so can you tell me what you put it on in your machine I have a silhouette three and I am really having problems with cutting out intricate cuts it’s tearing up very badly thank you

    • @ImagineDIYwedding
      @ImagineDIYwedding  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Roberta
      Thank you for visiting our channel. I'm really glad you like this invitation.
      Unfortunately, it's not one that could be printed at home. It's so intricate. Like you've already experienced, they are prone to tearing when made on smaller machines. If you are trying to print at home, you would be much better choosing a simpler design. You could also try reducing the weight of your card to make the cuts easier for the machine to handle.
      The ones you see in this video are produced in minimum batches of 1000 by a really powerful industrial laser cutting machine. Unfortunately, we are not able to share the SVG files. But I think that they would be of very limited use anyway.
      If you'd like to view our full range of laser cut invitations, you can see them on this page of our website:

    Hi there... did you use the colour laser printer?

    • @ImagineDIYwedding
      @ImagineDIYwedding  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi
      You need to use only black ink for this technique. So a black and white laser printer would work. Or you could use a colour laser printer with just black ink.
      Hope that helps.

      Hi
      I'm afraid that I don't have a link. But if you search "Toner Reactive Foil" you will find that there are lots of options. Personally I love a brand called "Minc". But there are other cheaper alternatives that also work.

    Hi there
    Out of curiosity, what laser printer would you recommend for the printing and also what is the best card to use?
    Many thanks,
    Fiz

    • @ImagineDIYwedding
      @ImagineDIYwedding  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Fiz
      I love the Phaser series by Xerox.
      You might need to try out a few different kinds paper. Some papers and card have a trace of toner in them from the dying process and don't tend to work so well.
      Personally, I prefer using a matt card for this technique.
      But definitely try it out on a few different surfaces before committing to a huge print run.
      I hope that helps.
      Kind regards

    Hi, May I ask you about paper?
    I live in Japan .
    I want to do foil laminator.
    I'm trying to foil laminate with a kind of paper called deep mat, but I can't do it well.
    I printed it with a laser printer and tried it with a laminator or iron.
    So I thought it might be because of the quality of the paper.
    So, I wanna know what this paper you used.
    Please tell me about this!!

    • @ImagineDIYwedding
      @ImagineDIYwedding  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi
      It's great to hear from you. Finding the right kind of paper can be a bit of a mine field. Different foils (and even different colour foils from the same brand) seem to react differently to different textures. As a rule I find that a good quality smooth matt card usually works the best.
      I hope that helps.
      Kind regards

      Hi
      We actually have these manufactured for us using state of the art machinery. It's not something that is possible to replicate with a home machine I'm sorry.
      There are machines that will laser cut (e.g. Cruicut) but not to this level of detail. You would have to chose something much more simple if you wanted to make this at home.

      Hi
      You can purchase a laminating machine from most stationery outlets or Amazon. One with an adjustable heat setting would probably be the best.
      We don't sell the toner reactive foil but you can easily source it on Amazon. Just run a search for Toner Reactive Foil. Minc do a good range I think.

  • @teyannabailey8569
    @teyannabailey8569 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you stop the foil from missing in places on the text and how do you stop the foil from sticking on the edge? If you're looking at the card, the top left has a block where the foil was on the paper but there is no text there and then some of the letters are missing foil. How do you fix this? I'm having the same issue and have returned multiple printers for this reason.

    • @ImagineDIYwedding
      @ImagineDIYwedding  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi ... Good Question!!
      I've found it's just a matter of playing around. If the foil isn't sticking to the print properly, it could be for a number of reasons:
      1 - You might have handled the print and transferred some oils from your fingers onto the print.
      2 - The temperature of the machine might not be quite right
      3 - You might need to try a different foil. Some foils are better than others.
      4 - The texture of the card might be a problem.
      So you just need to play around (on a very section) until you can perfect it.
      What I should have showed in this video is that if there is some foil transference in areas where you haven't printed, that's pretty easy to solve. Normally, if you just use a dry cloth (like the corner of a towel), you can just gently rub it away. Because there's no solid toner to bind it, it usually removes really easily.
      I hope that helps a little x
