I waited to finish reading Yellowface, to hear your opinion on it. I agree so much, you articulated my feelings so well! I think it was still a pretty decent read, but it could have done so much more.
I felt the exact same way about Yellowface! She really didn't dive deeper into the topic, which was super unfortunate. I still gave it a 3 stars because it was enjoyable nonetheless. Great video btw, you just got a new subscriber! :)
What version of Yellowface did you read? You’re absolutely entitled to not like it, but your description of the protagonist and summary of the plot line do not match the Yellowface I read.

I honestly still enjoyed it but I couldn't stop thinking about how shallow the addresses to racism were 😅 glad I'm not the only one!
I think yellowcake is loved because of the idea or the topic it covers, not the depth. The idea was there but it could have gone deeper.
