The Golden Blades had a pretty good team song that was played when they took the ice. "We Won't Give Up Till We Win The Cup For All New York To See" were the last lines of the song.

I went to about 15 Raiders games. $2 to sit in the blue seats. Raiders were in contention until one of their best scorers broke his leg in a game against Cleveland. Ironically in the only National Televised Raiders game from Madison Square Garden.

Was a huge Raiders fan, went to 7 games, wish I went to more. John Sterling did the games on WMCA with Yankee pitcher Fritz Peterson. Blue seat tickets were $2; I remember attendance picked up after football season. I went to a game in March that was over 10K.

I went to high school with Harry Howell's son Dan, in San Diego. He gave me a pair of the NY Golden Blades purple socks - i dont know what i ever did with them, though.

I heard that the dip in the ice at Cherry Hill Arena caused some long head man passes often wound up hitting players in the head!

The colors are the same as the Islanders, Mets and the city's flag. And yes it's an homage to the Dutch.
