- Who doesn't want a Duramax powered squarebody Chevy?!
This is the first in a series of videos following along on the Duramax build that will eventually be powering my 1981 Chevrolet C20.
I have a full time job aside from creating this content so this build will follow a much more realistic timeline than most shows where an entire truck is built in the span of about two hours! My hope is this series provides a little more insight into what a regular guy like me can expect when taking on a project like this!

A little Sil Glyde or Red & Tacky never hurts. I put that stuff on everything! 😁
Very cool project man.
Watched all 11 so far.
Great job.
Thanks Josh! Looking to make a little more progress here pretty soon!
Am glad I found you. Cool videos like love the LBZ
Thanks Eric! Welcome to the channel!
I think Chevy is the way to go.
Couldn’t agree more!
Great video quality. Great job
Much appreciated! Thanks for watching!
LBZ the best. Cool video.
Agreed! Thanks for watching!
Great video! Do you have video of mounting the a-arms?
No sir. I had the chassis together before I started filming stuff!
Hey rich, I highly recommend not using the oil pan gasket, they come factory with only silicone but they made a gasket to attempt to fix leaky lower oil pans but it turned out to be much worse and is very prone to oil leaks. Only silicone is the way to go
Oh really, I didn’t know that. So far I am leak free but I guess only time will tell!
Paint it Topeka green you digit!
I’m pretty sure that’s illegal?! 😂
Chevy Orange Red! 😂
Did you buy all new hardwarenor painted them? They are all nice and black.
Most of the hardware is reused and painted like you said. However, on the exhaust and turbo housing, I decided to go with all new hardware since it was all pretty corroded and/or broken lol.
@@richphippsgarage thanks man. Appreciated the reply.
Where did you purchase your gasket and o-ring kit for your whole engine? Do you have a part number?
Hey there! I purchased the gasket kit from lincolndieselspecialties.com/
What engine stand are you using with that DMAX?
It’s a 2000lb capacity engine stand from Jegs. Here is the link: www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/80042/10002/-1
@@richphippsgarage thank you much!!!
Sooooo ahhhh, Duramax builder here. Did it leak?
So far not a drop!
@stephenlangley6870 help us all out… What were your concerns on his methods? For all of us on our builds as well
LS engines leak like crazy and duramaxes dont so there is your answer
😆 Hey that's a good enough explanation for me!
