Pity the show was abandoned. I would have loved to have seen it. 😢
Gerry's son Jamie is currently overseeing his father's unfinished ideas go into production. I'm hoping GFI will be one of them. It may take years, but it will be well worth it.

People talk about wanting a big break or a great opportunity. Gerry Anderson was devastated when he found out his only job opportunity was to make a kiddie puppet show. But he decided to make the best puppet shows ever and ended up making some of the best TV I ever saw in my life and became a legend with a cult following around the globe. He is proof that it's not the opportunity but what you do with it that counts!

He certainly hated making puppet shows, but he soon came to consider them just 'films', and he just said he enjoyed making 'films'.
One of his famous quotes was: "If you enjoy doing what you're doing, then you'll succeed. If you DON'T enjoy what you're doing... Open a Green Grocer's shop!"
Now I don't know where that quote stands if you enjoy running a green grocer's, but oh well.

Too bad that the concept for GFI didn't turn into an actual series. The effort was laudable nonetheless !
