    I found one with 50k kilometres in PERFECT condition listed for 4000€. Literally everything looks like it's new. Perfect service record, perfect looking interior, same thing with outerior. I'm honestly thinking of buying one.

    "Saving the planet doesn't start with buying a brandnew electric car." - Thank you! You are not the only one thinking this ;-)
    A couple a month ago I bought a 1999 C70 2.4 Turbo. It's such a great car! Before that I had a 1999 V70, loved it to death, literally.

    ...just came across your channel and from that speech about looking after what we have, instead of buying new... I have subscribed... you are 100% correct. Too many perfectly good cars have been needlessly scrapped (the scrapage scheme from 10 years ago is a prime example of that)... also love the volvo...

    I am getting a C70 T5 in a few months! They are amazing cars and future classics for sure. Great car and I love that colour - yes Saffron Pearl is the best, followed by Dawn Blue Pearl - mine is silver on a 51-plate but very low mileage and buying from a friend's dad.

    2.0t also had low pressure as well although they did do a 2.0t t5 high pressure in Italy I think due to the emissions

    The 2.3 T5 is the one to have, I had a cabriolet, great in a straight line, can't corner for shit, however comfortable and remarkably good on fuel.

      Lowering the car does so much for its cornering ability. Definitely needs a strut brace too, but even just on -30mm springs its like a whole different car. I've only got the 2.0T but it's at 210hp and can keep up with a RX8 (190) in the corners and straights.

    Lovely car Geoff. Wife had a Volvo C70 Cabriolet when we lived in Frog land. 240 bhp 0-60 6.4 secks.

    I've got the convertible 2.0T. Remap to 210 to give it the power it needs, -30mm springs to make it not understeer round a slight bend, poly bush top engine mount to stop the insane wheel hop when spinning the wheels. I wouldn't want anything else. The 24-28mpg isn't great but its also not terrible I guess

      @salihahzem ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you tried to mitigate the infamous cowl shake of which the Convertible? I have ‘04 T5, put a strut brace and it only made it slightly better and now dash cracks over the slightest bump even though car only has 40000 miles or so… I’ve read putting a tow bar helps too!

    Keep the car, fully agree with you! My C70 Conv. is 18 yrs old, still running very smooth and will do so most likely for many other years to come, that‘s true sustainability from my point of view.

    I have a C30 T5. It's the bees knees. I lusted over this bad boy when I was a kid.
    This is why I love Volvo's. The care the owners give them.

    Wish I could find a decent running one here in the states that hasn't been beaten to death. Occasionally, convertibles pop up, but try finding a hardtop... want one to go alongside my S60R. Would KILL for an original Saint looking car with manual trans...
    Your RANT is one I make a lot! You are spot on - the very most ecologically friendly car is an old car that we are not expending new materials on. THANK YOU!

    I had a 99 C70 T5 manual Coupe pumped up to 300hp with Ferrita downpipe etc...it made 285km/h GPS confirmed on German Autobahn...it just pulled and pulled...and that sound, I had a 2.75" double exhaust on it. Tgis Was tge car that gave me the most joy out of all cars I had up to now...stupid me sold it because it was too expensive using ut as daily with 100km work way per day

    Great video Geoff, think you gave the volvo an accurate, entertaining review.
    I bought a late registed Saffron 03 C70 manual 2.3hpt 60k(now on 89k) 7 years ago, best car I have ever owned(I also currently own a LHD 1990 golf Gti G60 supercharged and a 1992 BMW E34 3.8 M5 5spd) totally reliable (a £69 bosch turbo pressure sensor in all that time, along with normal preventative maintenance) just keeps on going.
    The volvo C70 ticks all the boxes,stunning looks(what was volvo thinking?) ultra reliable, zero rust,extremely comfortable and has the performance when you need it.
    I was also lucky enough to purchase a manual c70 2.4lpt convertible, no mot, working roof recently for the measly some of £320(rescued from foreseeable scrapyard doom) a few minor jobs later, bit of paintwork and now have a stunning summertime cruiser for less than a£1000
    If your on the look out for a fantastic reliable future classic for peanuts, that can be used all year round, can't think of a better choice
    We'll done Geoff (and Volvo) for providing a great video 👍

    My philosophy toward cars exactly!
    I love my two old Volvos and will likely keep them until one of us dies!
    I have a Saab friend, a Cadillac friend, and an Oldsmobile friend who look at their “old outdated” cars the same way. 😉

    Hi, would you prefer it over the 9-5 Aero? Do you find it more comfortable or better built/more luxurious?

    • @GeoffBuysCars
      @GeoffBuysCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No. I'd take a 9-5 Aero over the C70 every time. Need to try a C70 T5...

    I tend to agree with the hard top that the Saab was minor compared to that, however when you talk about ragtops…. I would argue that the Saab 93 is much better

    1999 to 2004 then they released the hard top convertibles possibly the ugliest Volvo ever. The first edition coupe and soft top still are great looking cars ✅️💗
