My boyfriend/husband Richard was diagnosed with AIDS about 4 months after we had been together. He feared i would dump him like many lovers were doing in the 80’s during the AIDS crisis. I promised him we would stay together, thats what lovers do. He lost everything so he moved in with me and i took care of him for 7 years till he passed away one early Friday morning. To this day i still cherish every day i had with him, Richard R.I.P.
You are a gem and this world would be great if more of you existed. I’m guessing that you were raised in a kind loving home, and this carries on through you. Take care.
Lots of stories involve bad parents, parents who judge. There are many good mums and dads out there and it’s nice to recognise them too. A lovely moving story well told.
The empty seat on the blanket. Makes me think of so many that are no longer on this earth with me. Some because they are old like me, others to cancer or gun shots or drugs or HIV. So many that had so much left to share with the rest of us
YUP! You went and did it! You opened up the flood gates. This was awesome! Touching on many levels. Thomas & Spencer maneuvered through their characters so well. I didn't want this one to end.
Ok, you just brought me to ugly crying in under 20 minutes. That was beautifully done, so much conveyed in so little time, great writing, great acting, great everything.
During the Aids Crisis of the 80s, I tried several times to be there for friends but most of them were too afraid of getting close to someone as they knew what was in store for them. I am one of the few lucky ones that never got the disease, but the pain of losing so many friends and acquantances still hurt and I am pushing 70. Watching and hearing the horror stories of people abandoning those that were sick (alot were family members) still make me angry. Your Movie was a Breath of Fresh Air...seeing someone that cares and loves someone when they are needing them in their lives was Amazing. Thank You so very much.
Great short! Sometimes people forget how much of an inpact words can have. Why did he need to tell the story about how in the end it was horrible to have cancer...People can sometimes be so insensitive..without realizing how powerful and hurtful words can be. Thanks for sharing this movie. We can all learn from some things!
So very well done. Not gonna lie, definitely teared up. Great job to all. A great short to say the least!! Go big Elle Mazer, you've shown an amazing part of yourself!
you have no idea how much this made me cry. i lost someone very close to be to cancer and it broke me. its so difficult watching someone you love so much just fade away and then one day be gone. thank you for making this, it was so sweet and I really enjoyed it
This was so good. It reminds me of the strength in every close friend I watched die in the 1980 and 90’s. Each one of them affected me in such deep ways. After all of these personal losses I am still alive and healthy. Why don’t I ever get sick. I tested positive for COVID for a month and never had a symptom except lethargy. I don’t understand. I watched this with tears for the hero’s in my life. They live forever inside me.
I am 73 and I lost a very good friend in the 80’s to AIDS his parents didn’t understand him and his Dad almost rejected him. He was so hurt by the way he got treated. He would often come to my house and we would cry together for his dad.
i worked a nursing jome in the eighties a patient came on with aids he had a boyriend who loved him very much his parents refused to let him vist even tho they both begged to be together so whenever they left for the nite i called him and snuck him in so they could be togegther i was his personal care givet so i got away with it when he was on his deathbed i called his noyfriend and he died peacefully in his boyfriends arm .never ever regretted my decision wanted him to be happy during this hard time jis boyfriend died a few years later and he had asked jis family if i could be his care giver for he knew i did not care about the disease i cared about him personally wonder wonder young man it was my pleasure to have taken care of him and his boyfriend thank gid they were able to be buried next to each other and i visit their graves every week they just pulled one heasrt strings and we cared and loved each other like family. ❤. miss their loving spirits ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You’re an extraordinary human being, you may not see it like that, but your compassion brought comfort and some joy and that’s worth more than a king’s ransom. I applaud you 👏👏❤️❤️👍
This was a beautiful piece. I cried for a long time and have recommended it to a lot of my friends. Let me just say that this has brought a beautiful aspect of awareness.
Just watched this and I’ve been battling cancer for over 6 years my partner left me about 2 years ago for someone who was healthy and have been dealing with this alone since. Have an Ostomy bag and that’s what people see not the person wearing it
What a beautiful, sweet story. ❤️ Loved hearing “The Neighborhood” in the beginning. I know I’m going to watch this more than once. OMG, I just noticed that you directed this. Have you submitted this to any film festivals? It really is so good.
Thank you very much for creating this moving film, the ending made me cry, but the story is very beautiful because at least he spent his last months surrounded by love and his father found another adoptive son and he was not left alone.
I love how it is so much different from other film. at first I thought it was a generic gay short film, but it wasnt! it wasnt the subject at all. it was just a subplot and I love it like that! (made me cry so much too ToT)
Very well written and excellent Directing for this scale of a project doing almost everything with a production of this resource level possible in the directing. It was a great "meaning of Life" story also. Actors were on spot in every scene, very good. Thank you!
I almost stopped watching this excellent movie because I wasn't ready to cry as it reminds me of how sick my husband of almost 43 years is... he might not make it to our 43rd year.
Fabulously moving film. My husband died in 2020 after 20 years an amazing guy sadly missed. This film beautifully covers a similar path, most especially that gap when they go. Brilliantly done!
My first crush was in the scouts, when we were 15, and the next big camp came around I found out he had died in a lake, I went really mad that no one told me! Broke my heart 💔
Quando le emozioni bllocano le parole, dai occhi scorrono soltanto le lacrime. Bel film Una lezione di vita per tutti . "Love Is love " e può essere manifestato in tutto le maniere.
