MB has created a terrific band who play with energy; style and an abundance of skill. Dan Crisp is a revelation and brings his own distinct vocal delivery to many of these classic Tull tunes. How refreshing to hear a vocalist with the attack and guts to belt out the songs like we all remember? Clive looks fantastic and can still get a fab sound from his `1000 drums and percussion` 👋👋👋
Totally agreed, this is how the legacy of Tull should be, not shamelessly exploited by someone who should really retire or put the audience first, not himself. Shame on you, Ian! Viva Martin and band.
Have to agree, and it saddens me too. Caught Anderson 2 years ago in Brighton, really his voice is just nowhere now. I won't go again, would prefer a decent tribute band if one exists. Saw Barre's band a few years ago in London and will try to get to them whenever I can. For me, at least half of the Tull experience was Martin's amazing guitar sounds.
I must admit, I miss the flute. But I'm a flute player! Haha... but the flute sound made the music sound unique on top of the genius of the musical compositions. But Martin's band is great and the songs are performed brilliantly! I'm actually going to see them at this very theater in July and very much looking forward to seeing them! This concert was great (despite no flute).
How good is this! Anybody who saw Tull in the seventies will know what a tight, sharp and précise band it was, courtesy of its excellent musicians. Sadly that was lost decades ago,now a band populated by average journeymen and a long past it Ian Anderson. But Martin Barre’s band takes us back to those halcyon days. I havn’t heard JT stuff played this well or at all for years .An absolute pleasure!
Bravo ! I saw Jethro Tull twice in 1970, and this is the closest to that magic time as I’ve heard. Great that Tull drummer Clive Bunker is back and my late friend, Glenn Cornick would have killed it with em. He told me Ian was a dick anyway
You betcha… I saw Stand Up & Benefit tours and I would have loved seeing Glenn rejoin these guys and he would have loved it too…too bad he passed away a few years ago. We miss him, funny guy.
yea I am very skeptical when a band spins off ,its like magic is gone .esp a band ;like Tull, I saw em in '77 and man Was hooked. but yea I always admired MB style. He is a master so the line up is awesome as well. would love to see them!
I have seen Martin and his group two times yet. Both times he was really phantastic. So if you have the chance to see him live close to your place don’t hesitate and go and see him.
Saw Martin twice in the last couple of years at the Tupelo music hall in NH. Both were incredible shows! Wouldn't it be cool if Ian joined Martin's band and played the flute and let Dan sing as he sounds just like a young Ian. MAYBE?
Martin and his band are excellent, I'd go see them for sure. I respect Ian so much, he's one of my fav's...it's hard to see him sing now. but when I saw Tull in concert back in the 70's Ian put on the show of a lifetime, saw him in the late 90's it was excellent. He should get together with these guys and just play the flute but then he parted with Martin so don't thinks it's gonna happen.
I was a huge JT fan but the decline started a very long time ago as the talented members of the band left and were replaced by journeymen and Anderson himself could not maintain the previously high standards set by the band. Martin Barre’s departure was the last straw. But he now reminds s about what a fine and underrated guitarist he is .As Hackett is Genesis Barre is Jethro Tull.Forget Anderson and the flute; This is great stuff.
I have seen Martin’s band 3 times in the last 18 months. A great experience! Barre is a master guitarist who has only gotten better with age. Dan Crisp is also a really talented guitarist. If you get the chance, see the show live.
I just gotta see this band!!! I swear I can't believe I blew it when he actually came to Fredericksburg, Virginia in 2018. I hope I get another chance to see him somewhere along the east coast
Boy, it looks like drummers these days play these small kits, and it takes alot of the edge out of a band. But this guy is a damn good drummer. Better than the drummer Ian has, and Martin is as great or even better, than his usual self. He has ALWAYS been a bad ass ax shredder. This Bassist has one of the better 5 string basses, I have heard. Good Bassist. No one played drums better than Barlow, on Aqualung.
I don’t like small kits either. Darby is really good but Martin has a new drummer for the latest tour. Martin is the man! Clive Bunker played drums on Aqualung. Barlow’s first album was Thick as a Brick.
Such a great band & vox. BUT- please consider the MIX! Man that guitar is pretty hot in mix from source and lead vox needs pushed up. Great Bands deserve the greatest mix possible. ** to my ear could be b/c of the source device being recorded on. Such a cool Vibe with M Barre / Tull 😊
This band too much better than Ian Anderson band , al least I can hear Jethro Tull style , just compare the members , M Barre vs J Parrish, the Ian Anderson drummer vs the M Barre Drummer , the Ian Anderson bassist vs the M Barre bassist , you can get you own opinion which is much better .
I saw 'em back in late '23. Face-melting. Easily one of the best shows I've ever attended.
It's amazing, beautiful and perfect! Thank you Martin for being able to get out from under Ian and create this miracle!!!!

listening to and watching Ian Anderson gulping for air is not how I want to remember Jethro Tull. This is as good as it gets.
Totally agree with you.

Ya, Martin has a better band than Ian. I went to see Tull 6years ago and I was embarrassed for Ian. I won't pay to see them again, unfortunately.
Have to agree, and it saddens me too. Caught Anderson 2 years ago in Brighton, really his voice is just nowhere now. I won't go again, would prefer a decent tribute band if one exists. An absolutely wonderful and incredible concert. This feels more "Tull" than the current line up.
This is one stellar set of Tull tunes and the band, the equipment, and the tone are perfect!
This is a must see video, superb sound quality. Proper Rocking, sounds like Tull of the 70s, heavy. Thank you Steve Buckley.
Wow!
yes, the two guitars sound nice and heavy.

Got ticket for Martin Barre on mar 22!!

Well said! MLB brings the energy.
Can’t stop smiling when I listen to this
Martin was the high voltage of Tull....no one else can fill his shoes !!!
Nope!
I have seen Martin and his group two times yet. Both times he was really phantastic. So if you have the chance to see him live close to your place don’t hesitate and go and see him.

Great singer !!!!!
What a delightfull version of this great song
Excellent !

Martin Barre is THE torch carrier for the Jethro Tull legacy..not Ian Anderson who has diminished a thousand per cent & should retire.
Great performance.

Exclentes musicos los que acompañan a Martin Barre...
They are playing 3 hours away from me next month. I think I am gonna go. The 2 drummers at the same time was sweet.
Just needs the flute, brilliant
Martin's band sounds more powerful than Anderson's.
With a flute player, the Jethro Tull sound would probably be even better and more lifelike.
They have got better. ❤❤❤
Thanks, Steve.
Superb !
This is the only way to experience the music of Jethro Tull in the modern day ! Far superior to the current JT band
Yes, sadly.
I don't get how the audience has stayed seated. I would have been on my feet for the entire show!
maybe they are 60 or more years old
@@gairngorms I'm 66!
@@gairngorms hahaha that's good
Saw “em in 1971!
Tracklist:
1- For A Thousand Mothers
2- Love Story
3- Thick As A Brick
4- James
5- Aqualung
6- Come Fly With Me
Loved it!
You’re still there in the Intermission, lol.
Salve Martin!!!
Nice sbd recording
Джетро Талл конечно не спутать ни с кем, ну а Мартин Барр,, это вообще отдельная тема..!
GREAT SHOW! 👍 The only thing that is missing is, Ian Anderson. Just don't feel the SAME, Right On Thanks for the share ✌
Sorry but listening to and watching Ian Anderson gulping for air is not how I want to remember Jethro Tull
He's not missing - he was never in Martin's band.

Great Bands deserve the greatest mix possible.

Such a cool
Vibe with M Barre / Tull
😊
I attended this concert and got a special link to view this show afterwards. I downloaded and put on my channel but I did not mix the audio.
dude sounds and looks just like Ian...same mannerisms
Yeah, I personally could do without him trying to impersonate Anderson's stage persona.
Doesn’t look or sound like him at all
Two important pieces are missing
Martins seems to have skipped his famous Hunting Girl guitar solo? Wonder why?
This band too much better than Ian Anderson band , al least I can hear Jethro Tull style , just compare the members , M Barre vs J Parrish, the Ian Anderson drummer vs the M Barre Drummer , the Ian Anderson bassist vs the M Barre bassist , you can get you own opinion which is much better .

With a good keyboardman could be greate
Dee Palmer sits in at some gigs - but this is a guitar driven band.
The singer is awfull and imitates IAN ANDERSON
