- Hey everyone! I'm Albert Boris, and today we're gonna be predicting the character roster for Mario Kart 9, X or Twitter (however you call it), the hypothetical next game in the series!

E. Gadd needs to be in a Mario Kart
As far as a new character goes, I would actually personally suggest Luma. They were scrapped from Mario Kart Tour if I recall correctly, so I’d love to see them get a bit of justice for the next game
If we don’t get them I hope they can at least be next to Rosa again like in mkwii. It was so cute!
Luma over baby Rosalina would be better in my opinion
I loved having Luma accompany Rosalina in Mario Kart Wii! If not that, then yeah, having a luma (choose a color like Yoshis) or even Lubba would be pretty great.
Okay, but take Luma… make them larger… make them purple… and put underwear on them.
A *lot* of characters were scrapped from Mario Kart Tour. Luma, Honey Queen, Spike, Paratroopa, Goomba, Piranha Plant, and so on.

Let’s go! I would really want to see the original Wario/Mario Land series get some love.. Whether it be a track like Sarasaland or a track based on Wario Land.. Or characters like Captain Syrup. Yes it would be niche.. but it would be cool!
One character I want the most is Lubba. He’s just so underrated and unique. I personally think he’d be a great addition to the Mario Kart franchise, and they absolutely should’ve chosen him over Honey Queen.
Baby Wario would actually be really cool to see playable. It sucks that he really only had relevancy in Yoshi’s Island DS & Dr. Mario World, so seeing him used again would be awesome!
Hope Baby Waluigi comes in too! Even if he didn't appear in any game, his first appearence can be in Mario Kart, just like Toadette and Baby Rosalina!
Yeah, replace Baby Rosalina with him and add Sprixie as a female lightweight.

This is probably the most realistic roster I could see Nintendo doing
Yeah! I like how rather than being a wishlist, it’s more of an actual prediction.
What about Captain Syrup, or how about Princess Shokora, of if they really want Wapeach?
Fun Fact: Elon Musk actually asked Nintendo if they can add Mario Kart to his Tesla vehicles but Nintendo declined his request which in my opinion, is a missed opportunity.

Honestly, Professor E.Gadd would be a very good curve ball, and yet a new human character that would make the male and female roster even again
Not to mention he was also planned for Mario Kart DS but got scrapped, old man deserves some justice
I think predicting items before courses would be ideal
My predictions for characters are:

Wario, Yoshi, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, Mona, Ashley, Inkling, Link, Captain Falcon, Captain Syrup, Cranky Kong, Funky Kong

I know these predictions are strange, with strange ommitions of Toad, Daisy, Koopa Troopa, and Waluigi, but this was the roster in a dream I had of the next Mario Kart game, titled Mario Kart Crossroads, that was very detailed. If you want to know more details about it, feel free to ask me!
I had an intrusive thought recently and came to a realization that there's a slam dunk Baby character that I'm genuinely surprised nobody making MK Roster predictions nor Nintendo themselves has considered: Baby Yoshi.
- Core addition to NSMBU, whose Deluxe port has been a Top 10 highest-selling Switch game for its entire shelf life (original also being #3 on WiiU)
- Yoshi is already one of the most popular Mario characters so having multiple feels like easy points
- Another character with high alternate color potential, having 5-6 official colors
- Design on the whole exudes enough of a special energy to satisfy a humorous/joke character niche

Light weight: Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Toad, Toadette, Baby Wario, Baby Waluigi, Baby DK, Koopa, Paratroopa, Dry Bones, Goomba, Larry Koopa, Lemmy Koopa and Kirby
Medium Weight: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi, Birdo, Diddy Kong, Bowser Jr, Sonic, Boshi, Geno, Ludwig Von Koopa, Iggy Koopa, Wendy O Koopa, Ninjala Van and Ninjala Lucy
Heavy Weight: Wario, Waluigi, Donkey Kong, Funky Kong, Rosalina, King Bomb-omb, King Boo, Petey Pirahna, Bowser, Dry Bowser, Captain Falcon, Roy Koopa, Morton Koopa Jr, Samus and Dark Bowser

I feel like the next game will still have a pretty big roster with mostly the same cast but with some "fat" trimmed like the Metals, Tanuki Mario and Cat Peach, Peachette and the crossover characters (though the crossovers might get added back in DLCs) plus maybe some other cuts like Wiggler, Kamek, Petey, Dry Bowser and Funky Kong which would be a bit sad but I wouldn't say those guys are essential, I wanna say they'd cut Baby Rosalina because no one likes her but I honestly feel like there's a real chance they wont cut her.
Also I feel like the Koopalings deserve to be included, I mean it's not like they're all identical as they all have different voice lines, animations and stats.

Now there's also 5 characters that you unlock by doing other things than winning those cups, and all of them are curveballs:
-When you get 1000 coins, you unlock Ashley from WarioWare, who is a medium weight.
-When you get gold trophies in every cup and every CC, you unlock R.O.B, who is a very heavy weight.
-When you get 3 stars in every cup and every CC, you unlock Fox from Star Fox, who is a heavy weight.
-When you beat 10 staff ghosts in Time Trial, you unlock Falco from Star Fox, who is a light weight.
-When you unlock every single other character, you unlock Imajin from Doki Doki Panic, who is a medium weight, as the final character.
I love this roster, its pretty fire 🔥
Your ideas are good and I would love to see King Bob-Omb or Pom Pom become a playable character in MK9!
Nintendo has acknowledged funky Kong as a fan favorite. It would be disappointing waiting so long for him to be added to 8 deluxe just for him to be dropped in 9 2 years later
I'm gonna be honest, Items seem hype! Love to see which ones you'd predict to return and what new items you can come up with.
I would personally group the baby and metal and… pretty much any kind of alt to a certain character into a drop down menu for said characters. (IE: Mario’s drop down includes baby and metal Mario.) “But they’re all different weight stats!” Re: I don’t care if one character weighs more than the other, I’m certain that it can happen, especially considering how far we’ve come since the Wii U.
Also, Baby Rosalina is the worst character to ever exist and I want that idiot baby removed ASAP!!

The last two characters that aren't medium, light, or heavy, what class are they?
Each home console Mario Kart game has always had a slightly bigger roster than the previous one. 8 Deluxe rounded out at a solid 48, so if they keep up that direction, they’d probably go with 50-54? That said, that also sounds like a pretty big roster size, so I’m not entirely sure how likely that is. Either way, I don’t think they’d cut down to 36.
After Mario Kart Tour could we be satisfied with limited D/K/G ?
Looking through your list, I get why you want the roster to be 36/37 playable characters, due to 50 characters probably being too much, especially if there's DLC, but I honestly think the roster should be a tad higher, I think 40/41 is better, since the roster was kind of underwhelming in Base Game 8. I think Glydon from Super Mario Odyssey would make a great character. For your prediction, I think its great and one of the more realistic ones I've seen, but I don't think they'd add Baby Wario - I know Nintendo likes adding the baby characters to the games but I really can't see them having 6 baby characters in a roster.

My biggest want (aside from tour chars like king bob-omb or nabbit) is a tostarenan. they'd be so cute! I feel like madame broodal could be an interesting heavyweight girl too, tho idk how relevant she'll be post switch

I'm pretty sure every character from every mariokart game accept the arcade games will be in the new mario kart game
nice selection but going by 8 there probably will be a few guest characters either they be in the base roster or DLC
and if it does have some I think Kirby would be an amazing inclusion
I'd also add the option to change colors for Toad
and Dixie Kong, and I'd say keep Ludwig and Wendy maybe, tho if any of the koopalings stay they might stick with the most popular once which seem to be Ludwig, I also think the Broodals from Odyssey has a good chance of showing up in the roster (perhaps all 4 of them) I mean with how well received Odyssey is, it could be strange to not have anything representing it, but it might come down to if they're used or not in the next Mario game
and yeah the Miis are not going anywhere, they're still a big part of Nintendo and their history even if we don't get as many Mii games as we did on the 3DS, and they'll definitely keep the Miis for the next Smash Bros
unless the next Mario Kart does a Smash Bros, and bring back every character and stage, just cause 8 Deluxe seemed to be building towards something like that

First for returning characters of i think petey should come back as well as i feel hes less of an odd ball than...pgp so id bring him back (he even fits the heavy female in french lol) and also cut metal mario for lakitu which i think is unlikely to be cut
Id also cut baby rosalina and pauline for two other new characters which i think should be E.Gadd and Luma which just feel like characters that will be added at some point
As for the poplins...eh i kinda disagree ? I think florian could play the role pauline played for the last year....hopefully i mean i think we should give him a chance and

I would take all characters from previous games exept most geust characters, the exeptions are MIi's and ROB, Why? Because of Tour there are so many models they can use with minimum work, but there are some changes:
- you can make many of this unlockeble's
- Characters like tanooki mario or pink gold peach are now " special costumes " for Mario and Peach, costumes that have diffrent stats,
When it comes to the new ones:
- We already have 3 baby girls + baby rosalina broke the internet, just add baby Wario, he has origin and he was in dr. Mario World for some reason
- most of the " new characters " you added were in tour so how are these consider new characters? Real new character is Goomba
- why not have some more characters from that never got a chance in spin-offs? Like Captain Syrup or Cranky kong and even some RPG characters, but Poplin is good pick too

No Funky Kong means its easily an F tier roster.
Hear me out, King K. Rool. It's another DK character that hasn't been in any Mario Kart. He would be an easy new heavyweight choice. Also Smash has made him a lot more popular. I'd bet he'd be Funky Kong levels of popular.

The most likely explanation is that Nintendo thinks it would be too hard to make him drive a kart.
@@thellamadj283 True. But feet aren’t necessary for Mario Kart. Arms are. You need them to hold the steering wheel and hold items. Goomba can’t do either.
Goomba was playable in both of the Mario baseball games. Baseball. A sport that is primarily played by using hands to catch the ball, and hold the bat.
With all due respect, can we please stop trying to apply logic, for a franchise that already doesn't make much sense as it is, and just does whatever it wants?
