I am thrilled that the contributions of the late great Shirley Chisolm is being portrayed in this movie. And I’m equally thrilled that this magnificent young woman has made it happen thru she & her sister’s perseverance. RK is the consummate actress. What can’t she do? I love Regina King. Looking forward to see the movie.🩷
I have not seen the movie yet, but I have a huge connection to it. First, I am from Barbados born in the 50's and I came to USA in the November of 1971, and I see her on TV and heard her campaign speeches in 1972. Also, I was in the middle of the busing era in Boston in 1973 when this country was going through racism. Yes, there is a lot of history that a lot of people who were born here does not know and sadly a lot of people does not know the history of this country. It like puzzle that needs to be put together to show the whole picture, but most people only have one part. I believe that this movie will be great to see that history in time when i was about 13 years old coming from the same country of this great pioneer in politics. Also, my last name is Holder, and most Holders comes from a parish name St Joseph in Barbados. I applaud Regina and her sister for taking this journey to show us this great legend of a woman and what a dream can do if you follow it.
It's criminal how unaware the American People are asleep on Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm. I'm embarrassed to admit, but I didn't know, and I was born in the mid 60's. Thank you, Congresswoman Chisholm and Ms. King.
Great movie Regina King Bravo for the movie Shirley
