I disagree it should not be Regina comforting him it's the other way round. If he couldn't hold it together then don't ask. So you traumatise her all over again? No he needs to hold it together she doesn't need your emotions on her. Lovely to see her out and about. People just ask her questions about herself she will talk about what happened when she's good and ready or she may never its her choice. So Jimmy breaks down and cries and she comforts him? Get out if here. She does not need that.
@@sassyx2048she grabbed his hand in acknowledgment of his deep feelings toward her and the heartache she’s been through. He didn’t burden her with his feelings, he showed her how he cares for her. No one alive is alone, and at times we must show each other the pain we feel for each other.
It’s crazy how no one is allowed to be human anymore. Jimmy doesn’t have to know Regina to be emotional about her sad experience with losing her son. It could be one human being sympathizing for what another human being has gone through. Also, Jimmy broke down…. So what? He can’t feel emotion? Regina has had two years to go through the grieving process, and tbh honest will continue. One can never get over losing a child, but that could be the first time he’s seen Regina since her loss and the emotions just hit him in that moment and he wanted to show that he cared deeply for her and her loss. Like go sit down wit the he should be comforting her….well she wasn’t the one crying in that moment, and she was strong enough in that moment to be there for him. Everyone needs their moment to grieve a situation and that happened to be his. Doesn’t matter if it was his child or not. Jimmy breaks down and cries and she comforts him? ….. umm yeah. It happens.

When her beautiful son died I really cried for someone I didn't even know. Regina was always a person with grace and humility, I can't even imagine the pain.

I believe her healing process was made easier because of how much unbridled LOVE and understanding she always showed for her son on and likely off camera. And he loved her the same. It wasn't out of the blue, he'd been battling mental health for a long time so I feel like in that it's easier for a parent to come to terms with rather than the dreaded "I could've done more" Regina may been King but she is such a Queen. RIP to Ian I feel for him

You need to watch when he spoke about his new born(at the time) having emergency surgery due to a heart malfunction. THAT was powerful. He won me over from then. This with Regina was just another reason for me to love Jimmy. She's such a strong, beautiful soul. Honestly, I don't know how she does it but I appreciate her sharing. It's truly an inspiration and I'm sure therapy for herself

The genuine moment they shared here was so touching, and you can tell that Jimmy worked extra hard to make Regina laugh as much as possible and keep her spirits up and keep things upbeat for her. He really highlighted the movie Shirley well and kept an impeccable and delicate balance of promoting the movie, and keeping the conversation engaging and funny. You can tell that he has a lot of respect for Regina and treated her with the utmost care in her return to the spotlight after her son’s passing. I’ve watched a few interviews and Jimmy was honestly the most balanced and caring during such a delicate time for Regina. Way to go Jimmy.

I’ve been a Jimmy Kimmel fan for the past decades and I can honestly say that it is rare to see an actress/ guest that is beautiful inside and out like Regina King. And before anyone thinks I’m black I’m not, I’m hispanic. Regina is a beautiful individual with a graceful personality.

The first minute of this interview... it makes me feel there's hope for us all. A Gen X White Man having empathy for a Black woman going through the grieving process losing her son. Her taking his hand bc he empathizes with her grief bc he's also a parent. This is is why empathy is important and we more of it in the world right now. Love Regina so much and Jimmy is a good guy.
Wow, Regina is breathtakingly beautiful and such a talent! That's what's so interesting about her. The few times I've seen her in interviews or just on candids in real life, she always grabs the attention of those around her and everyone around her seems to be having a good time. You can see her positive energy radiating from her.

Regina's helping people through her story. I honestly have had a really, really, really, really tough season and a lot of intrusive thoughts went into my head where I was wondering what life would be without me here and hearing her story and what she's been through. I would never want my mother to go through that. She and her son are saving souls and they don't even realize depression anxiety and any type of mental illness needs to be taken seriously and when someone tells you they're not well. Please help them. Please listen to them. Please reach out to them. Please stay with them,

The beginning was so heartwarming yet heartbreaking. The love,respect, and grace displayed were incredible. Regina is nothing but graceful and classy. I've always loved her. My prayers are still with her. To lose your only child has to be devastating. ❤❤❤
I remember first hearing about what happened and it broke my heart and instantly thought of her. I’m not a parent but I can’t imagine losing a child. It will destroy me just as much as losing a parent. As someone like myself who has been through so much with mental health and close calls, it hurt a bit extra and I felt for her. As soon he asked her how she was doing, I broke down crying myself. I don’t know her, never will but I really do feel for her and her pain.
As a human being, you have empathy - you don't have to have children to have empathy. The only parents who understand what's she going through are parents who have lost a child due to suicide.
