I cannot work out for the life of me why this channel doesn't have way more subscribers. Honest talented content, no music and no explaining every step of the job. Just a very talented guy doing his 'multiple' things excellently.

He doesn't do clickbait titles and screenshots. That's probably the biggest reason he doesn't get more subscribers. TH-cam prioritizes recommending videos like that over quality ones like these. It's infuriating.

He doesn’t have what I call a “Google induced ego” = hoodwink as many to subscribe to your channel + automatically click “like”, remind the [hoodwinked] viewers through out the video itself ~ as infernal “pop-ups” edited into the video/make stickers to put on things/equipment seen in the footage. And if enough viewers have been [hoodwinked] Google and TH-cam will reward the channel with a golden play button so they can boast of how many have been duped 😡. And with 💰; these videos with “acute ego problems” will be infested with adverts [cashcows] and sponsors to fuel Google’s corporate greed

    • @jasonburnham7631

Given the age of the house, I'd hardly file "using plastic just about everywhere possible" under the "overdoing" or "doing it right" column. This was a job with a budget, clearly. I'd say adequate, but a trifle sad given the skills he obviously has.

I noticed that you had several nice lumps of green moss on the roof tiles. Here in the States I’ve volunteered at a arboretum donated by several old-money estates. These homes had similar tile roof structures that used copper instead of lead flashing. Additionally, copper was used as ridge cap material, as well as gutters and downspouts. All copper elements sported a deep green patina. After several inquiries into their use of copper I was “educated” that copper keeps moss and other plants from growing on roof by leaching copper sulfate on the roof during rain.
My mother’s house was located in a shaded woods area and her roof supported an annual colony of mosses that returned after their forced removal. I planned to get a copper ridge cap for her home until I discovered how expensive copper foil was. Not wanting to completely give up the idea a got a several rolls of pennies; the only copper coated coin in US currency. I slid an individual penny under the lower edge of each asphalt shingle along the top 4 rows of shingles. For less than $2 I eliminated the moss once and forever. Perhaps if there are still copper coins in your currency you could add them to your roof for moss mitigation.
    Cheers

Hi sir. interesting approach to making a skylight as a pose to an off the shelf model , but you have managed to achieve a frameless look which is definitely not easy . Also making it non opening is a good idea , as a shallow pitch roof won’t shed the water if it rains when open . But knowing how you plan things before hand , you would have covered that possibility . I like your method of double batons under the tiles , as again on a low angle roof water can indeed find its way in . So once again another stunning restoration project by your good self . The only problem I have is you do tend to talk to much on your videos 😂😂😂 sorry couldn’t resist that one bless you. Best wishes and kind regards as always 👍👍👍

    Russ, just wow.
So much time and effort you put into making this content for us to enjoy.
Everybody is right, no music, no talking just skill.
My brother and father both joiners and carpenters alike.
I love watching and helping them do this kind of stuff, they are so meticulous with fine detailing it's mesmerising watching them.
    All the best

Wonderful work. I had a laugh at the subtitles, nice to see the sense of humour along with the skill set.

The work you do is extraordinary. The 'commentary' is EPIC. I concur with the thoughts of others... I can't imagine how you don't have at least twice as many subscribers.

Another brilliant video! A hell of a project to tackle single handed, I take my hat off. A bit disconcerting in the new downspout shots where the whole side of the house seemed to moving back and forth while the scaffolding stood still!

Phenomenal work as always, I am ashamed I've ever done any work when I compare the standards you uphold, and those that I manage to achieve. I'm just on the cusp of finding your abilities and work ethic inspirational, rather than demoralising! I manage to learn something from every video of yours I've watched, which I'll continue to try and emulate in my own work for my own clients.

This man is a genius, what a craftsman. He can do anything with those hands. He's one of the best I've seen, he's up there with Oliver Bradshaw and Gid Joiner, 👍😁🔨🇮🇪

This guy is a beast! He is so hard working, ingenious and massively talented. Hope someone is taking care of him; making him lunch and cooking a nice hot meal at the end of the day would not be amiss! Much admiration.👋👋👋👋

Is there any limit to this man's ability to create, invent, fixture, renovate and repair? I swear we'll next see him hand forging a specialized saw blade from iron ore he mined in his back yard. Amazing.

Refreshing creativity, punctuality and endless patience. 👌👌👌👌 As always. Really good to watch. Just a note: There's a chance that the water from the big roof will overflow. The lower gutter could have been made with a larger cross section. 🙂🙂🙂🙂

This is one of those jobs that one just puts off again and again. I had a 300 year old house near Bath and the only time I ventured near the roof was when there was scaffolding along the main wall up to the roof level.
