Sterling and I both fell in love with cats the same way! My mom got tickets to see it when I was in 3rd grade and from the moment the dancing started I knew that was what I wanted to do. I loved the show so much and I loved the white cat in particular, so I memorized her dances and all the songs and would repeatedly perform them in the living room. I'd also take a DVD of the show to my babysitter's house and force everyone to watch and sing and dance along! 😺

Actually, the original song for Grizabella was going to be "Grizabella the Glamour Cat". However, both Cameron and Trevor realized that they needed a knock out song and Andrew brought in the tune of "Memory" and Trevor came up with the lyrics based on T.S Elliot's unpublished poems. Along with that, Dame Judi Dench was originally supposed to play the part but her Achilles Tendon snapped right before previews and Elaine was brought in as a quick replacement and every night until opening, she sang a different lyric. The song was always in mind for the character of Grizabella once they brought up the fact that if she was the center of the show, she needed a true 11 o'clock number.
I am reallu enjoying the behind the scenes look into a Broadway revival. The set looks amazing! How is the crew going to keep it look the same night after night?
I think many decided moons ago..not to use anything recycled...and its better to just colour on cardboard and posterboard...or use pictures and project them with a projector...why...just something to consider....practicallity.... Even slide projectors I think were used... Working with foam/mousse is even more perfect.
