      I never use contraints straight to geometry, I always group them then constrain the group so I can still adjust assets

    This was the first video of yours that I realized you left Dreamworks, your dream job, to teach the general population of animation students for FREE. I am sure you do not make as much money on here as you did at Dreamworks so I thank you a hundred times over for your videos. Your dedication to teaching us and lending your brilliance is so apparent in all your videos.

    Oh my god! Yesterday I was just literally introduced to this topic in my 3D class at college and when the teacher mentioned constraints and made an example we needed to do (we had to animate a little cube) I was so confused with this things. It’s amazing to watch this video in your channel, I’ve been following you for some time now and I wanna say thank you for doing this videos. When I watched the Zelda Rig video I was introduced for the first time at the rigging topic and now that I’m about to start the topic at college I’m more confident with everything I’m about to learn thanks to your videos

    Thank you so much for this video! I want to become a general rigger, and you teaching the geometry and normal constraint specifically gave me an idea on how to create limbs that can slide freely around a character's body, such as moving an arm (separate geo from the body) from the shoulders to the hips

    how to constraint one hand to a different positions on single object? For example i ahave a chest and my character puts hand on the top of it at the beginning, i constraint it to the chest and then i want him to open it, so i set blend parent to 0 and move hand to another position on the chest and try to constraint it there. But when i constraint it for a sceond time hand goes back to the first position

    How do you get the orient constrain to work with joints? i have tried all the directions and different parents and many constraints, but they dont prevent rotation of the joint in the directions i dont check mark. based on this video, it should only rotate with the other joint in the directions that i checked, making the unchecked axis's not rotatable.

    Well i hope you can answer my question , so i m gonna talk about just the parent Constraint in a specific case , my subject , is when i m using a parent constraint in the pivot effector (hik) and you know that i need to swtich the weight between the pivot effector and the it's controler (for example the hand) 0-1 like i m holding a stick than i will throw it . so it's simple to do it with pivot effector .what i want to know how you can do that in node editor doing same event .??

    • @3rdpoly
      @3rdpoly 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So answering my own question, you have to uv the object with the vertex you want to constrain to first, why I don't know. But if the object you want to contrain, jumps to another vertex, then look if it has proper uvs.

    yo how to constraint elbow on table?

    • @CrazyCaboose009
      @CrazyCaboose009 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not super experienced, but from what i know, you could likely make a NURB curve and if i remember correctly, use aim constrain (might be another constrain) with the elbow joint (this will let that NURB control the direction the elbow faces, though i believe its only with up/down from T-pose, so left/right when on the table). then you could use what he does in the video and use the geometry constraint on the NURB curve to the table mesh and that would let the elbow flow over the table mesh.

    OR you could parent an empty to the board, then CopyLoc, CopyRot constrain the ball to it, at frame 15 key visual(after constraint) loc and rot of the ball AND constraint weight at 1; at frame 16 reduce constraint weight to 0, animate the ball; at frame X move the empty, then restore constraint weight to 1 when the ball lands.
    I hope key visual rotation, position is not a blender only thing..
    I don’t like the method you’ve used mainly because it changes the hierarchy, which makes it unusable for games. unless control group is not an actual object..
