  • Your decisions determine what work you do, how much money you make, who you spend your time with, your health, and ultimately, your happiness. Knowing when to use your intuition is key to decision-making success, but it's not magic -- it's science.
TEDxColumbusCircle (www.tedxcolumbuscircle.com) was produced by a team from Manhattan Productions (www.manhattanproductions.com), Womenkind (www.womenkind.net), Gender Fair (www.genderfair.com), and reimagine.world. Spencer is an entrepreneur and mathematician, with a goal of improving human decision making. He founded ClearerThinking.org, which offers free bias and decision making tools used by over 200,000 people, and Spark Wave, a startup foundry which creates novel software products from scratch, designed to solve problems in the world. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Making me a more angry and direct person instead of when I think deeply and reflect and can see something from both sides? I’m kinda stuck on that

    GREAT TOPIC!
I MYSELF, RELY ON MY INTUITION & GUT INSTINCTS QUITE OFTEN, CAUSE IT NEVER FAILS ME!
I THINK THAT AFTER A WHILE, OUR MIND & GUT INSTINCTS SHIFT BETWEEN THE TWO SPONTANIOUSLY, & AUTOMATICALLY!
HOWEVER, THIS IS SUCH AN IMPORTANT SUBJECT, THAT I FEEL A SENSE OF OBLIGATION TO THE SPEAKER TO LET HIM KNOW THAT THE ONLY THING ABOUT HIS SPEACH, IS THE WAY IN WHICH ITS DELIVERED!
THERE'S NOT MUCH ENTHUSIAM, SHIFT IN TONE OF VOICE, SOUNDS FLAT!
THE RIGHT DELIVERY OF ANY SPEECH IS KEY IN ORDER TO GAIN THE RIGHT ATTENTION OF ITS VIEWERS !

Pretty powerful and complicated topic, but i feel this video is kinda useless and i think it can be simplified to "listen to ur gut BUT think logically in serious situations (based on reasons and proofs)" which we already do
*Continue reading if u want an explanation as to why i simplified it that way*
    there r 3 decision types
1- u have time to think and u care to think to make ur decision correct (then u obviously 100% will use system two)
2- u have time to think but u dont care enough to think to make ur decision correct (then u will obviously 100% use system one bcoz the decision is worthless so who cares, unless u want to waste ur time)
3- u dont have time to think and u care to make ur decision correct (then u have NO CHOICE but to 100% use system one so why feel bad about it?)
Edit: pretty out of topic but writing ur thoughts on a comment helps u to organize them so dont feel bad about it, its not a waste of time, it helps u to reach to the point and it might help other ppl too

THIS is one of the best comments I've ever read on TH-cam. Nicely done. And it encourages others to think, and share.
For the record my initial gut feeling on this video, regardless of it's intent, it didn't feel good. Admittedly, at first it was something about this person's voice. T be fair I am wearing my fairly accurate headphones right now so it may have made me hyper-aware or something. Thank you for breaking it down.

@@JosephAlanMeador thanks, i hope ppl do think and share for everyone's benefits. in this time we're all connected through a 200g piece of technology and even a comment can potentially change someone's life due to the "butterfly effect"...
