Another belter Colin. There is usually one or two photos which make you stop and think, often inexplicably without any particular reason. This time for me it was the Gorbals Steamie lady. What was she thinking? Is she still alive today? Did she have a happy life? When a photograph manages to pose those questions then its a good photo.
Me too. I look at the bairns in the old photos and think " they gave all grown up and died and I bet their descendants don't even know about this picture!" Morbid I know but puts life into perspective, for me anyway .
When I see the notifications, I know I'm about to see true historical pictures of this wonderful city & surrounding areas with all its great history.. so once again I say thank you Glasgow Photographs for the reflections of Glasgow past..👍👍👍
Another fine collection of photos of bygone Glasgow. Thank you! The one of Queen Street in the 1970s (2:11) is interesting. It is a lesson in contrast. On one side is the traditional building with its carefully crafted facade, and on the other are the bleak impersonal concrete buildings where all is a dull uniformity. I'm sure these have a depressing effect on people as they go about the city from day-to-day.
That street scene ( 3rd pic in) is freaking me out! Why is her dress so short? Look at the women on the background! Skirts did not rise until the flapper age 1920 on a d even then it was only the " posh young things" that dared. This photo looks older than that too. Is she a time traveller?
Wild horses could never " drag me away" from these great pictures Colin . Thank you Colin.
Thank you.

Thank you, traditional architecture and concrete jungle.

I would guess this is often asked, Colin, but from where do get your soundtrack ?
Thanks Duncan, I use midi files, free from the internet, that allow you to change and delete the instruments used.
@@colinburrowes8063 thank you, Colin. Please be assured that the pics are the main thing, of course !
