Not going to happen. They make great national tracks but the current track sucks azz. No jumps and way too fast. Sooo many people getting hurt and dying there
It’s a little raw to have this guy on your channel after witnessing a really poor National track, disliked by riders and disdained by the fans judging by the lack of crowds and we all had to watch on TV due to this man. Listening him waffle about his aw shucks I’m glad to be here for 30 mins in order to hear one line GH out of my hands, well almost. Cringe inducing Swap your better than this. Jb.
You can tell feld has taught them to be a big business because it used to only take $25 to go to a national now it’s more like $75. They are about to price their selves out of business in my opinion.
You are exactly correct with our family. Went every year, even multiple locations, now we're skipping our second year because of the price/bullshit fees.
You clearly have no clue who’s responsible for what during an outdoor National…. In your defense, I was clueless before I was educated 2 days ago. That said everyone complains about every sanctioning body, track owner and promoter about how everything suck and how much better they can do. Saw it in my amateur racing days and my professional racing days. But the reality is nobody steps up when an organization or track closes. Well almost nobody….there are a few that keep stepping up to keep the sport alive like Davey. Nobody stepped up to keep the Lucas Oil Off Road series alive when Lucas pulled the plug. But back when I was racing, we all complained and bitched about everything, but no longer have a series. So I try to appreciate those who dedicate their lives to keeping moto alive in the US. Every single track, promoter and sanctioning body. Without those who keep up the grind, tracks disappear and eventually the sport.
You are spot on. This guy is bleeding amateurs and privateers dry. He's as greedy as they come. The documents have been leaked for over a year on GH. It's plain as day he's the problem. His father would be disgusted at what he has done and continues to do.
@@RobNaughton54 the guy your watching owns the whole entire f*cking thing, he is money hungry not even paying the flaggers just by giving them an opportunity to watch the race. This is the same guy that charges tracks to promote all other spooners that’s not including paying for the banners etc. riders barley get paid while his making millions, this guy has ruined peoples life’s that race.
I get that it’s a business, but you have to give the consumer what they want, not what the networks and sponsors want without the fans the business doesn’t exist. Glen Helen is a perfect example you can’t tell me an agreement can’t be come to and fans are pissed about it, We cannot loose our grass roots….
"It's a business" I assure you the sport will not lose revenue because you put 250 2 strokes in the 250 class. Jayce forbid privateers have a financially easier way to compete.
Used to care about content and the soul of the sport. Now MXSports only cares about $$$. Running an event at Pala tells you all you need to know .One day events and forcing tracks to over upgrade their facilities and add SX type obstacles to premier natural tracks. Having been around since late ‘70’s can say that it was way better when the promotors worked for themselves. There was diversity in tracks, not the same combed out rut fest and so much soul
Bring in some sand tracks, and some new tracks all together, I would like to see some different tracks in rotation every year! I like that about the super motocross as well
It's the US, we have no true sand tracks that can support a national... SouthWick is the closest thing to a true sand track and it barley supports a national as far as accessibility, parking, and viewing.
@yamahakid450f I agree but it could be worked on. There are some good sand tracks in Minnesota and Wisconsin but they would been work to he national caliber
I was announcing races for my cousin and decided to write a story and send it in and sort of forgot about it. Was doing a race a few weeks later and a guy complimented me on my story I'd forgotten. He showed it to me but wouldn't let me have the copy. Never could find one. Like a little later I get a check from cycle news for like 86.43 or something! 800 Pound Paradise! Was the heading!
When one family has so much control over a company(s) it's suspect. I was involved with SX/MX for a very short period and remember quite well the politics and how controlling these folks were.
This needed to be longer, it needed fan questions, and it needed a "something no one knew' story.😀 Good interview I met DC back in the early 2000's when the internet was beginning to grow. Great guy.
Great interview Donny and DC. So cool to have a part in getting RacerX and Transworld on the shelves of Tower Books/Magazines way back when I worked at corporate. Both of these dudes are so cool and down to earth. I could listen to them tell stories all day. DC used to call me " The Tallon Vohland correspondent " lol. Between these 2, they could make a Trivial Pursuit "all things moto" edition. As Davey says, "See you at the races"! Hangtown is in 4 days! Yes sir, you will. MickyV, out
What a great story very few people understand what kind of commitment it takes to keep this sport alive, just having a gate drop somewhere means nothing if it wasn’t for guys like Davy and yourself keeping us on the edge of our seats by bringing to the events through print media previously and now the internet and streaming live shows. Please keep it coming! Ps: this is one that could have been extended for sure! ❤🙏
Except it's not true. Must be new to the sport. Everyone knows Davey is a greedy dirtbag, parading around acting like MX Jesus while simultaneously gouging every penny he can out of anyone he can.
Stop the cap bring back glen Helen as a national
too many politics on the track side and both sides i think

My wife just asked me how much $ to go. She said it's got to be cheaper than SX. Nope 👎 we're out. Too much $.
Spoken like corporate upper management. Pala is a supercross track in a wash. He has the juice to fix it.
They get the national much cheaper at Pala cause it’s Indian land . I heard prices taxes were double at Glen Helen
Isn’t this the same clown who can’t pay flaggers? Making excuses and even ruining 3 guys seasons because you tried to save money. Guys a joke

has anyone done more damage to the sport for personal gain?

Thank god we have Coombs
@Biffbaker he biff is coombs feeding you or are you just a idiot

We lost Saddleback, Indian Dunes, Ascot, OCIR, Carlsbad. We’ve lost our roots
De Anza and Corona raceway too.
@@ahsnap9103 damn forgot those too. Both of those were fun.

Autocorrect?? Or am I missing something about Lorretta Lynn's?
🤔
Davey Coombs is to moto what Frappy Mike is to bikes.
I didn't know Frappy Mike published a magazine and promoted a race series.
