I love your reviews because you always address people with not so cooperative skin and gives them hope! Definitely waiting for your updates on "most skin like" and "dry patch friendly" products!
I agree that only using a foundation one time is not a true test. I think it wonderful that you gave it two weeks. I will put this on the list as one to try.
I've had the same issue with Kosas being too yellow. I finally purchased the 2.5C concealer and love it! I'll have to check out the foundation! This look is beautiful!
I was having trouble picking out my shade online and watched several reviews to try and figure out which one to get. I usually just go with more neutral tones because like you I can never figure out my undertone. While watching other reviews I also noticed that when it dries down it dries a little darker which makes it even harder to figure out which one to get. I originally had 120 in my cart and switched it out for 110, I just received it today so I guess I'll see how it does. Wonderful review as always!
Dont understand why dont Kosas just carry some neutrals. Have been staying away from this brand. Too much work to figure out what wont turn too yellow/greyish. I have no problem shopping online and find a good shade for Lys or ILia. Kosas could make the process less frustrating.
It looked beautiful on your skin!! Can’t wait to hear about the new shade! Also… no surprise you have taken off on Tik Tok! When you are the “Queen of Make-up”… you are everywhere!
I bought the shade 130 and it's a perfect match for me. The lasting power is great and it looks beautiful with a natural finish on my combo skin. No complaints.
First impression reviews of foundations are not really very useful. Many can look pretty good at the beginning but wearing it over time tells a more complex story. I appreciate your taking some time before posting a review.
I similarly run neutral/warm and have ended up with 1.5C in their concealer, which is great, and just purchased their foundation in 150 to try! I was surprised going with a cool tone for these, but interesting to see you have too.
Happy to hear of your Tick Tock success Shelby!! I only know Michaela from Robert Welsh’s TH-cam videos, I am not the other app, but she seems like a lovely person!
You seem like a straight neutral undertone to me on my screen. Have you dabbled into the sci-art color seasons? If you are interested check out the Soft Autumn category!
Not me running to the store to get this! Lol. I actually really appreciate you talking about your eczema struggles because I have extremely dry, dehydrated, sensitive, eczema-prone skin, so I'm glad I have someone who understands the pain and can suggest products that won't make the problem worse. I was wondering if you'd be willing to do an eczema skincare update? I know you have been using the Avene products a lot but was wondering if you have any other tips or tricks to manage it
I wanted to love it, but I'm so cool toned and in between shades. The 120 was a little light and a little yellow. The concealer is way too yellow in 1.5 C. I may try another shade, but it was just off. Gorgeous formula though. I found I needed less than a pump because it definitely has coverage.
I've struggled for years not only finding a shade match (people cant tell my undertone either, I'm more neutral but flush easily), but finding which foundation/complexion product best suits my skin. Could you do a video discussing how to pick skincare compatible foundation? I have combo dry skin, and use the Kiehls ultra facial cream (on the daily), but find that some foundations either oxidize too much, ball up or get too slippy/lack longevity. Is there a way to avoid compromising my skin comfort for nice makeup? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
I feel like your skin almost has a slight olive tone despite you being so fair. This is probably why you can bounce around between cool and warm but find that neutral works best for you. It’s hard to tell when you get redness on the face, so you have to look at neck and chest.
Definitely, her neck and chest seem to have a golden olive undertone but it could just be her new camera or lighting. Personally I need to match my chest because my face is pink but my body is definitely golden with slight olive undertones. Some brands’ neutrals can lean too pink for me but their warms are too yellow, in which case I have to mix one of each to get the perfect match. I got the 160 in this because the 170 was almost perfect, just slightly yellow and I was afraid I looked sick. Kosas is so tricky. I have 3.2 in their concealer and it is so yellow, I think I need to try the 2.5 🤔
On my mature combo oily skin this foundation doesn’t feel very hydrating but I have to set it with powder to make it last longer and tone down the shine
I have super dry, dehydrated skin. And one of my favorite foundations is the Josie Maran Vibrancy Foundation, which is very dewey, and it's also being discontinued. So I want to find another dewey foundation to replace the Josie Maran one. Do you think the Kosas is comparable to the Josie Maran foundation?
@Shelbey Wilson It is very hydrating. Not recommended for oily or possibly combo. And it has light-medium coverage. I'm pretty sure it is "clean." too. I have 2 backups. But it's on its way out. I also use the Armani Luminous,. That's not dewy on my desert dry skin. It's more of a natural matte on me.
What shade are you in the kosas concealer? And between this foundation and the light wonder CT Wich one do you preferred? Do you think this foundation could work for combination skin?
Any tips for older skin? Does it blend into the skin or does it sit on it? Wrinkles? Some have said it dried into their fine lines and wrinkles and looked horrible. Can we get samples? Our Ulta closed so we have no options near me and $42 is a lot to spend blind. Is it better than Neutragena, which I love but it doesn’t last the whole day on me.
Shelby, I don’t know if you’re already aware, but there is a TH-cam channel named “Jank Ma” that has reposted some of your videos in full. (I think they cut off the very beginning and end but the rest of the video is there.) I couldn’t figure out how to report it, so I’m letting you know!
I love this foundation but the high concentration of niacinamide doesn't agree with my sensitive skin. If anyone knows of a dupe for this that doesn't have niacinamide please let me know.
Howdy Shelbey! I have a comment/question for you. Now, considering that I have only ever seen you in video and pictures, so I could be way off here but if I were shade matching you, I would go for an olive tone leaning neutral. I see many similarities is your, Hannah Louise Poston's and Mariah Leonard's skin tones. I would place you and Mariah as Olive leaning neutral to warm/neutral and Hannah as olive leaning cool/neutral. Again, I've only ever seen y'all on a screen. Do you think I'm crazy?? Would you give an olive foundation shade a try? You sho nuff tan like a mofo in summer and I'm guessing it doesn't take much, at all. 😘❣
A video of “Foundations” or skin tints that look good over eczema. I’d love to see that!!
Great idea!
Dea Shelbey Wilson,
Me too!

❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm incredibly oily and this works great for me. I use my beauty blender and not quite a full pump.
Good to know! I’ve seen some other positive reviews from people with oily skin too!
I found that this applies beautifully with a sponge. I love this foundation and I find that it wears really well! You look great!
Sometimes I get on a sponge kick and sometimes I completely forget about my sponge lol
Yes! I use a sponge with this one too and it works perfectly and I love it.
I agree that only using a foundation one time is not a true test. I think it wonderful that you gave it two weeks. I will put this on the list as one to try.
Glad to see this has your stamp of approval! ♥️

Thank you!!! ❤️

I love first impression videos and I’ve been wondering about this foundation too. I adore the concealer and wear it daily. Thanks for the review💛
Your skin does look nice. I have very dry and red skin. I might try this one, cause of the moisture. Might help with the tightness and help sooth.
The Kosas cloud setting powder is phenomenal 🤩

Always beautiful!

This looks just beautiful on you.
So kind! Thank you
When I look at your neck, it looks like you have a light olive tone.

I love how Ms. Gorgeous over here knows that people are starting to understand that "Clean" ANYTHING doesn't mean anything.

@@Balletified I second the fair olive comment. You can see the olive in her neck and chest.
@@Balletified I’m in the same boat. Not many companies care about the olive skin folks…

I'm hearing good things about it, but being oily I think I'll stick with my old faithful. Lol Thanks Shelbey!

Emily Noel said that she only uses a half a pump of this foundation. Which she always uses minimal product.

Do you have any dry flaky skin foundation recs? TY ☺️

I'm trying to use up my foundations before I buy more but I'm so tempted by this. How does it compare to MUF Reboot? especially re glowiness.
Imo it has much more coverage and glow.
Look up the actress Jonna Walsh. I’m watching her now in a Hallmark move. I kept thinking .. who does she look like? She looks like you!
@Carolyn
Wow ! She really DOES look like Shelbey ! Both are beautiful !!
I agree wow uncanny
I have the same undertone issue also, so annoying.. lol
