This is a video I put together of some of NASCAR's craziest saves. Sorry for the bad quality on some of the clips, they were the best quality I could find.
I'd definitely say the constant improvements on the designs and especially the constant training for recovering from skids like this have come a long way.
This an AJ's back to back are so fitting lol. The two best saves I've ever seen. I am a Jeff Gordon fan, and his 2011 save in the Coke Zero 400 is one of my favorites. But its definitely a toss up between McMurray and Allmendinger's saves as the best I've ever seen.
In formula 1, saving means: keeping the car out of the barriers while also trying to hold on to your position. In Nascar it means: keeping it out of the wall and hoping that your car doesn't crash, even if you can't go on with the race😂
What I meant was a Johnson-type save, which means, spinning into the grass and not destroying your car, which wouldn't be possible now because of the splitter
I like how Jeff tries to play off Danica booting Trevor out of the groove as the air started getting him sideways before any contact and DW just "hmm must've been a hurricane if it did that" calling his shit
5:55, you can take the drifter out of the drift car, but you can't take the drift out of the drifter. I can't even imagine how difficult might be to handle a tiny tail slip in those cars.
Another save was in the 1998 Richmond race(I forgot which, may have been the same race, when he won). When Rusty Wallace bumps Jeff Burton. The commentary's reaction was priceless
What people do not understand about these cars is how much they are tuned and dialed end to turn only left. When these guys have the ability to correct and not oversteer these cars is what amazes me. I spent some time on dirt tracks this blows my mind

its not a near miss if it didnt hit a near miss means he nearly missed it which would be a hit you mean to say near hits but ill forgive you just pass the info on
@@ABArsenal i didnt know that near miss means he or she almost miss a thing but hit it i search google and it said narrowly avoided collision or accident means he or she didnt hit something or is it google wrong here? Im realy confuse about this
Early in his career I saw Greg Biffle save a car, don't remember which track it was on but you could see him actually put the car in reverse to keep it off the inside wall. I had never seen a save like that before or since...and I'm not even a Biffle fan but that was some driving!
That was a nice save Jimmie did,you can see him slam it in reverse before the first full spin on pavement,hes working his breaks and throttle all the way
Remember when they ran bias ply and the race was one giant save? Good times! They actually raced back then and weren't a bunch of whiny little pretty boys.
can some1 tell me why do they correct the slides with locked front tires... Isnt it easier to correct without touching the brakes and just countersteer?
