Got a FTR. Had over thirty bikes in my life. This takes the cake. Finally satisfied. Perfection by Indian. 1200 cc’s of bordem reliever.

I need to do a video on one. My friend down the streets got one and I loved it more than I wanted to. One of the best bikes I've been on. Got that big dirt bike feel with a super playful motor. I was getting it to back in pretty easy. You gotta ride it like a supermoto, more on top then leaning in like a sportbike.

I look forward to that video from you Jake. This looks and sounds like a beautiful bike but the way Yam talks about it in a curve makes me feel like it’s about to low side at any given moment. Lol

I just bought a 2022 ftr s. That one actually handles like a naked sport bike with the standard sized sport tires. it’s sooo much fun and easy to maneuver. Best decision I’ve ever made

I love hearing other people geek out over my bike! It really is an amazing machine. The look, the sound, the feel… I just love it. I always get looks and questions when I’m out riding. I traded in a Monster 620 for one last fall and it just baffles me still. It was similar enough to the monster, but so otherworldly different. It’s basically a big dirt bike that can dust just about any car on the road. No, it’s not as fast or wild as a Duke 1290, sadly, but you can still ride far more aggressively than you ever should on the street and leave with a giant smile every time. Most bikes are drop two, I find that dropping three is even better with the FTR. Also, it slides with ease, and once you figure out the throttle you can bring that front wheel up every time you take off. Actually went from slide to wheelie the other day and almost pooped my pants. I was definitely caught off guard. Love this bike. So excited this is the next giveaway! I will be hoping to add this S alongside my FTR.
FYI, it’s hot as balls in town. It’s not too bad for short people (I’m 5’6). The throttle is finicky. Roll into wheelies out of first rather than dumping the throttle. I would consider it a do-it-all bike. Also, the fuel tank sucks to fill, and you fill it often.

This bike is a perfect example of how better isn't always better. Sure there are naked bikes with far greater performance for the money but this bike, especially in the 19/18 setup is just fun. Its got solid power, obtainable traction limits, and the long wheelbase for controlling slides.
It's the first bike I've ridden that's made me very seriously debate moving on from my beloved '17 fz09.

I love my ftr rally. I used to ride a gsxr1000. While the top speed on the ftr isn't near the gsxr, the acceleration is insane and I love the performance. I was actually surprised by the performance. I can finally own an American sportbike

I’d been considering getting one of these to go with my Harley Road King Special, But after taking the best touring bike on the market for a test ride, the RKS is getting traded in for a 21 Challenger Dark Horse (already got the KST Comanche bars, Saddlemen Heated Road Sofa seat, and Bassani Road Rage 3 exhaust on the way😁) so I’ll be needing a badass cruiser. I figure I might as well stick with the same theme of having/wanting das beste oder nichts option available (see the SL for driving one lucky person and GLS for cartin the kids around), so it’s gonna be the Harley Low Rider S, Fat Bob, or Sportster S for in town.

I am lucky enough to own a 2019 FTR 1200 S and it is easily my favorite bike I've ever owned, with the scorpion tires I've carved canyons, I've road dirt tracks in the desert, I've strapped bags to it and did thousand mile camping trips, it can do it all if your hearts in it, I love it

I've had 30 plus bikes, I have one of these.. been riding a very long time. No bike has given the me the feeling this bike has since my very first bike..... it's that awesome. Regardless of what is said "on paper"...
PS. The Dunlop's are what they are. Slidey..
I put Scorpions on. way better for traction, still slides, but more so when you ask it to. its slides very predictably. It makes feel like a better rider than I am.
I've ridden the new one. And yes it's handling is "more familiar" but that's boring. Also, the older wheel size is just AWESOME while doing high speed miles.. far more stable than any other bike (including the 21ftr) of its weight in the wind at 80mph..

  • @daniellekoran7906
    @daniellekoran7906 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

I have one, and it's beautiful, and otherwise a turd. Wish I hadn't got taken for 17k for one, a BMW R1250R/RS or Ducati Monster would have been so much better value.
Fueling sucks, even after tuning. Rear cylinder roasts you, somehow way more than my Ducatis, tank is annoying to fill up, kickstand is weirdly too long. Low end on the bike under 4k is just snatchy, wheezy and even tuned you hear it stumble.
Why haven't I sold mine? It's paid off, it was a gift for my wife, and before it even had a mile on the odometer I built it over the winter. Full carbon panels, Roland Sands wheels, rear sets, full titanium/magnesium exhaust and a bunch more.
She tolerates it, but damn if I just can't bond with it. But it's beautiful and I'll look at it and admire the looks

Can ride it chill with the low-end torque, and the peak torque and good hp come in around 5.5k so you can get more aggressive to. Can change the rear to a 160/60 sport touring tire and the front as well and the cornering feeling gets better.

They have a a Raw hyper naked 1190 SX and a Raw Hyper sport 1190 RX (I know there not as refined as everything else out there, I own one !)and will soon will have online reservations for there motorcycles . My question why are they not even mentioned here?
Thank you for the thorough review of this other Great American company Indian ! ( I own a Scout BTW) But can you please mention Buell ? There are American jobs on the line and I think we should at least lend some support of them don't ya think ? You are really missing the mark on the 17s in my opinion. Ive ridden both models, the first gen, and own a 22 with 17s. The 17s are so much more confidence inspiring and nimble on the road. Sure an MT10 is technically better, but this bike is special. I dont want a bike thats hard to control with a half twist of throttle. As a truly intermediate level rider I *NEVER* want to lose the back end or slide. I want grip. and I want something beautiful. and the 17s in my opinion make this bike much more aggressive and low slung looking. I think you're looking at this with the lense of a super advanced rider and attributing character where other riders like myself would simply be out of their element. I also cant see how its outdate or comparative to a "mid 2000s" ducati, and other than tech, thats actually an amazing comparison.

That is one of the most lurching Bike I’ve ever seen. Your videos are usually very smooth. But on this bike you can see this dam bike lurching a lot in the video. It’s like an on off throttling type of bike.

Yammie used the term "angry" to describe the bike in his video and IMO that's an accurate description. The motor doesn't make a ton of top end power, but it makes a lot of torque RIGHT NOW when you crack the throttle, especially in "sport mode".

I bet that is going to be a lot of fun on a cold wet street.....
The moment you accelerate out of a corner, the rear wheel breaks away and there you go.
The charme of that bike is it tries to kill you.

Does it really have a sub 100 mile range? I know it’s tank is only 3.2 gallons. That’s the biggest thing stopping me from getting this bike.

Seems like the tires aren't the best for street riding. Better tires might tame that rear end

I'm not sure why people want to compare the new Sportster S to the FTR? Other than power figures they share absolutely nothing in common. Look at the specs of the Scout verses the S and they are near identical. The S is a sport cruiser like the Scout, while the FTR is more of a sport naked. Anything other than a straight line the FTR will wipe the floor with the Sporty S. HD is clearly aiming their sites on the Scout, which I'm sure has cut into their entry level sales figures.

You would fit just fine. I bought one at 5' 11" and 220 (yeah I could lose 30 lbs). Had some friends try it out about your height and they were good. The new ones I'm not sure about, but the 2019 yes.

I have a 2019 S model. I'm 6"1 and 265 lbs with 32-34" inseam. I fit just fine. You can adjust the shocks to help find that sweet spot if you need. The rider triangle is surprisingly comfortable. I was unsure of it before I purchased it coming from a forward control style cruiser. I do recommend a different seat though as stock is not very forgiving, at least for me. I get a sh*t eating grin every time I ride her.

Maybe I'll have to find one to test ride. Wonder how it compares to an older VMAX 1200. Similar specs but VMAX is old school 4 carbs and V4. Anyone ridden both?
