I will be an A6 minimalist bujo-er for life. But man, do I love watching the TN/Hobonichi community stew and switch over and over again 😂 Yall really over plan planning and I love it!

I used to be in small bujos and it worked great but then Hobonichi came and tempted me with cute covers and premade monthlies and I’ve been a mess since then 😅

@@fagerdam I actually do a one page weekly spread that I got from Hobonichi weeks! I split the page in half vertically and do the daily boxes on one side and then on the other I do my mood tracker/cheat, sleep, daily habits. I really have learned from the Hobonichi bc it's so well thought out and designed.

I love the standard TN for journaling too. I have 4 inserts in it, 1 for quotes/song lyrics I like, 1 for complete random thoughts I feel I need to write down right now, 1 for deep feeling/mad journaling, and 1 to write down what we ended up doing each day/a day per page type. I love it, it holds all my emotions 😅

it's so weird but today I woke up and decided I want to go back to the Travelers Notebook for planning from the Hobo weeks 😂. Then just now I saw your video in my TH-cam feed! I am craving more space and I think with the monthly and weekly inserts (undated) I could have a roomer set up in the TN. I've used the weeks for at least 5 years now, and it has been good but I also have been feeling that I want a heavier weight paper to write on. It seems the Tomoe River Paper is so popular in this community, but I want to leave it for a while- go old school back to the heavier weight and I adore the Midori paper and the paper the the TN inserts have as well. I was tempted to get the MD one day, one page again, but I'm 99% with team TN. Thanks for sharing your planners with us!! Guess we have a case of the mid-year planner angst 😂. Seems a lot of us get the itch to change things up and there's nothing wrong with that!

I love the MD paper too! I go through a planner dilemma every single summer without fail 😂😭

I feel like I have some of the same processes that you do. For me I went for an all-in-one discbound book so I could print inserts (like you I'm definitely not drawing out a monthly) but so that it wasn't tied to any specific time period. At first I had my journal in the same book, but in the end I decided to pull it out into a different one. I think part of the beauty of discs is that I can put them back together or take them apart as I please =]

Thank you for walking through your dilemma!! I’m trying to figure my planner for next year. Using a Jibun Techo which I loved but I don’t need the detail on every day. Pondering a TN or something else.
Wondering where you get your cute stickers?? They look like fun and I’m real sticker-hound

I get a lot of stickers from The Coffee Monsterz co, Fox and Pip and Planner Monkey Co

I know standard TN is very popular. I always wonder if everyone is transitioning to it because it's the new trend and it's all over instagram. The planner community trends always change. It's was personal rings at first, then hobonichi weeks, now standard TN. It's interesting to see how everyone I follow in the community has transtioned/conformed for personal reasons I guess. But I always wonder if people switch because they are being influenced by social media or because the system actually works for them.

    • @Jaytayylor
      @Jaytayylor  ปีที่แล้ว +2

I truly think the reasons why people switch is a bit of both. I think the ongoing pursuit of 'planner peace' makes people intrigued when they see something get really popular because of the idea of "if it works so well for them it may work for me" so they try it. There are also planner hoppers who hop just because they like to try new things and that brings them joy.
The thing that led me to change from hobo weeks to a standard TN is that I love the hobo weeks dimensions (tall and skinny) but felt as though I wanted more room to write. I was feeling cramped. I also wasnt getting along anymore with the weekly spreads and have switched more so to a daily planning format.
My gripe with the TN system in the past was the separate booklets i couldn't get behind the concept. However, now im using one booklet and a standard tn notebook which lies flat and made the system more approachable to me.
lol as you can see your comment prompted a lot of thoughts for me and perhaps ill make a video about this

Would it be possible for you to use the Sterling ink Weekly’s as your functional planner with very minimal stickers? And then use the notes pages in the back when you feel like it for your memory keeping, journaling, notes etc.
I have a sterling ink and sometimes my weekly is beautiful and sometimes it’s very plain and it doesn’t bother me. I like it better when it’s pretty but oh well. 😊

I moved into a TN Standard in August, b/c I was burned out on my EC and B6 Common Planner. I absolutely love it atm, especially using a Planner Perfect journal for memory keeping, and a Sterling Ink TN notebook as a Commonplace book. I love that notebook, 10/10 would buy again. I still use a weeks for tracking, longest I've ever stayed in one planner, lol. I preordered the Sterling Ink TN common planner for 2024 to replace the weeks, so same format just bit bigger and for the same thing. I also preordered an A6 1/2 year set that I'm kind of regretting, but also not? I have problems sticking with A6s, but I definitely need something to forward plan in and that I can take to the Drs, etc and jot notes in. Planner Chaos isn't fun, that was me in July, and a bit still for 2024. Still haven't quite figured it out yet.

lol ive literally never ever been able to make the a6 work for me. I preordered the sterling ink b6 and im kinda regretting it as of right now. Im waiting for the sterling ink overstock sale.

lol.. this coupled with Megan Rhiannon's new standard TN notebook, I've started wondering if the TN would work for me! But I refuse to be influenced because no matter what I choose, I always find myself back in the Cousin. 😂

I'd love to see what you would do with a TN but girl don't do it. You and the common planner/hobo cousin is end game 😂😂 I literally cant see you in anything else
