  • The tonjiru is one of Japan's best comfort soups, often eaten during the cold winters (but great for any season!). In the most simplest terms, it's a miso soup with pork and vegetables, but it's so much more than that!
With a generous use of root vegetables, the tonjiru is filled with nutrients and health benefits, such as anti-inflammatory qualities and digestive improvements. Oh, and it's absolutely delicious filled with umami, sure to warm up the coldest of souls.
    Dashi Broth Ingredients:
    1L water
    20g dashi kombu
    20g bonito flakes

I just finished making this dish. It was just as delicious as it looked. The konnyaku didn't melt though. Was it supposed to?

Super happy to hear that! Well actually, I forgot to put the konnyaku into the bowl and was too exhausted to refilm everything, its not supposed to melt😆
