      There were so many blatant eye pokes I was actually worried he might end up like Bisping. It could've ended up being a career ending injury. But, as I said on another comment - D.C. learned first hand from the greatest eye poker of all time, Jonny Bones.

    Nothing beats Stipe vs DC here. Stipe is eye poked throughout their first fight, including going into the clinch that led him to not be able to see the shot that knocked him out. So DC took his belt and made him have to get eye surgery. Then, in the rematch, DC is thouroughly getting the better of Stipe, partially because he is using the same eye poking tactics. And suddenly, Stipe switches it up, landing body shots, which hurt and distract DC enough to leave his head open. Stipe capitalizes and tko's DC. The he decisively beats DC in the trilogy fight. Just too good of a story

Me being a huge Cain fed of course led my brother to take the side of JDS and I had to hear so much trash leading up to it for it to play out and Cain go down. It didn't deter me in saying he was still the best heavyweight and the two rematches absolutely shut my brother up. Anyone can land one solid punch to end a fight but to watch someone beaten to a pulp leaves no doubts.

    I love Izzy but im not sure about him being #1. 3-1, 1-1 in the UFC. Alex trained the dude who recently beat him and beat Jan, he also had way more success in Kickboxing than Izzy. I would've placed Cain vs JDS at first cause Cain got it back twice, one more brutal than the other, then DC vs Stipe and then Izzy vs Pereira.

    • @aleksandrilarionov6545
      @aleksandrilarionov6545 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Agree, I think it deserves a spot on the list but not that high, I was surprised that Izzy beat Alex, I don't like Izzy but he had the skill and talent to beat Alex, in fact, its surprising that Alex won even once, its MMA, a sport where Izzy had dominated his weight class, and yes Pereira had masterclass kickboxing, but I thought because Izzy had 2 chances being as talented as he was, and still not being able to grab it, I thought there wasn't a chance anymore but he proved me wrong.
      Anyway I think that's it for Izzy with the way Strickland handled him, I think he's got Rocky 3 syndrome, he's made enough money and you could tell some of his last fights he didn't even want to be there, he doesn't seem to be invested in the training and fight, maybe this loss will wake him up, make him train properly, who knows

    • @jackgonahieu4999
      @jackgonahieu4999 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@aleksandrilarionov6545 Agree, it very well could be the money or the fact that he finally got one on Pereira. Imo rather than lack of motivation, his loss to Strickland showed that he can't adjust on the fly, he lacks FIQ and adaptability. For example Stipe was losing the second fight against DC till he adjusted, Izzy couldn't do that, he relies too much on his training camps. If there are "company men" then theres also "gym men" and he is the best example of that. Even the ko shot against Pereira was drilled countless of times during his camp and he tried to catch him with it a lot of times before he finally did. Im stealing the "Rocky 3 syndrome" term tho lol.

      I’m on the fence about the placement personally, but that’s a fair point. I think it might be a mix of recently bias, combined with one of the best post fight celebrations in recent memory. And Izzy broke the mold by defeating his own personal boogie man, which is an accomplishment in itself. I really wish he would have retired after the second Alex fight would have been the perfect high note to end an incredible career. I’m still a fan but really don’t wanna see a second Strickland fight, at least not for a while.

      Nunes doesn't belong on any top 10 list, let alone top 5. WMMA is mid and basic compared to Men's MMA. Nunes as Champ-Champ was a joke, as her second belt was in a dead division. Not comparable to Cejudo or Cormier's Champ-Champ runs.

      @@NHILUSAGE111 WMMA fighters are mid and basic compared to Men's MMA fighters, especially above 125. Lets take out the biology argument and put their exact skill-sets and styles in a comparative male body; none of the aforementioned fighters would be considered elite in any Men's division. Hell even Nunes and Shevchenko themselves would be considered average fighters.
      I can name 15 greater MMA fighters than Nunes:
      1. GSP
      2. Jones
      3. DJ
      4. Fedor
      5. Silva

      12. Hughes
      13. Usman
      14. Izzy

    • @madgavin7568
      @madgavin7568 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@NHILUSAGE111 I can't see it because both ladies styles have holes in their games that top male fighters can readily exploit, and dare I say, make them look easy.
      Both fighters don't respond well to pressure, they prefer to control distance and aren't great in exchanges, Shev in particular hates any 50/50 exchange, while Nunes gets careless in exchanges, both are susceptible to volume striking, cage wrestlers and clinch fighters. On the ground Shev is too comfortable off her back, Nunes is too comfortable while on top and they aren't the best scramblers either.
      A fighter like Max Holloway would absolutely melt them. You can't compare them (particularly Nunes), to any all time great male fighter. You can only compare them to other female fighters and yes Nunes is the greatest female fighter, but that's it.

    How was #1 Izzy vs Alex?? It’s not like they were 1-1 overall or even if he was 0-2 in kickboxing but then beat him in their first MMA fight. Is it really revenge if the score is 1-3?

    • @rohegarcia2802

      The video is called when champions got their revenge after loosing their title. Adesanya lost the title, he then beat Pereira to regain it, therefore avenging his last fight.

You know, like him or hate him… takes a lot of balls… takes more than Godly strong will to believe that you are better than a guy that beat you 3x and go on the show it….. that was that highest level shit to experience….
