I can't believe I am about to defend Jones... but what does good faith do for him? I mean, honestly, he is one of the most hated fighters of all time. For many good reasons. Yeah, he got some good press after the Gane win but with his legacy I don't blame him for feeling like he doesn't have much left to prove. If I had the leverage to hold out for a big pay day for a relatively easy fight, I would do it too. Not saying I like it, but his behavior is indeed what is best for him, and I can't really fault him for being selfish in such a brutal sport and industry, especially at his age.

12:06 The vital piece of information missed is that all of the shambles with promoting Aldo to champ again only happened because Rumble pulled out of the fight with DC that was meant to be the main event for UFC 206. That meant Max and Pettis had to pushed to the main event. So Dana decided to make it for the interim belt since he hates main events with not title on the lline, therefore promoting current interim champ (Aldo) to champ, and stripping Conor.

Let's be totally honest the heavyweight title is cursed !!!! All of this happened to the champs.....Cotoure's contract issues, Barnetts steroids, Mir's bike accident, Sylvia's failed drug test, Cotoures contract issues again, Brocks illness, Cains injuries, Francis contract n now jones injuries ffs !!!!

This has to be the most shitty thing about MMA.
Champions who don't want to defend their title, in fear of losing it, it's destroying, and they take a lot of opportunity's for other fighters...
They have to be shipped quicker if not injured. Think about Connor, for example

The way the udc just closed an entire division for inactivity is crazy, considering how many times that stuff happened in the new era, funny thing since lightweight will go on to be the most important and most stacked division in the sport history
Imagine if it stayed closed forever? All the superstars the ufc had wouls never have emerged, and mma would never reach any popularity among casual fans, since they wouldn't be doing those crazy numbers they did

Jones is a cancer to the ufc, but the ufc is so desperate to put on any big name on their cards that theyre willing to play ball with jon. Problem is, jon never throws the ball back. He just holds on to it, pass it to the one dimensional kid occasionally, then pretend to go home.

Jon Jones is the reason why the light heavyweight and now heavyweight division sucks. No one takes those division champs seriously because as long as Jones is lingering around, many fans don't feel like those champs are really the best in their division. When Jones goes away, it'll allow those divisions to grow.

I’m sorry but some of these are a bit of a stretch. Like, you’re completely neglecting that COVID stalled the world and caused so many mini problems between training, recovery, visas, etc. Idc what anybody says, Jan was a legit champ who defended his title against the undefeated, top 5 p4p fighter who is regarded as one of the most dangerous strikers in ufc history (who is the one who called for it). Saying he stalled the division in any way is completely disrespectful. Idk, so many other little things. Not a trash video but certainly not one of your best

Thing with jamahal tho is he did that saying he "wants the division to move on" yet now when he's still 6months away he's crying saying "no I'm next". He's entitled to a shot when he's ready but he's in no position to say I'm next when even now he's still 6months away and he's been saying that for a few months now. Also there's alot of talk from fighters close to him that he never wanted to vacate the belt and had to be persuaded into vacating and only felt pressured because jiri did it. Also he didn't even beat the champion to win the belt anyway so the fact he gets a shot after not even being in title discussions before he beat a 43yr old for the belt in the first place and only got that shot because the Two guys who actually were In line had a boring fight that ended in a draw. Realistically he's lucky that he's even in the conversation tbh
