    Pretty high idle for my taste.

    300 sounds lean. Yamahop needs more gas in the oil.

    Surprised you didn't make a few comments about the bike after your first ride. Looks like a sweet bike. How do you like it?

      Yeah I had actually put my comments and short review of the bike at the beginning of the video since it ran a little long. But so far I am enjoying the bike very much. Big change coming from the fse450. For me weight is everything and the lightweight feel of this 300 is stellar!

      @@OTR_ENDURO Sorry, my bad. I'd forgotten that I watched the beginning a few days ago, and then came back a watched the riding portion today. Anyway, the conversation helps with the algorithms, right? 👍
      Thanks for the review.

      Really high idle! Has the carb not got an idle screw?

    Is the pilot jet on the stock carb not tunable/replaceable?

    • @OTR_ENDURO
      @OTR_ENDURO  ปีที่แล้ว

      The stock carb is apparently difficult to tune. I’m going to try and mess with it to see if I can figure it out but from the research I’ve done - it was a much simpler route to go with the keihin and start from scratch. So far however I am experiencing issues with the keihin. When I hit whoops or even go down slightly steep hills, the bike seems to flood. So I will be taking it apart again to see what it could be. Based on how it feels i would say I’m having issues with the bowl and potentially too much fuel when the bike is bouncing around. I will update as I find out more though!

      m.th-cam.com/video/1QlnnLu-5QE/w-d-xo.html this video explains the carb situation better and Lcars is a great channel for Gpx knowledge!

    More snappy power on the yz because the GPX cylinder sleeve is not Teflon coated. I’d buy the Yamaha hands down .

    • @OTR_ENDURO
      @OTR_ENDURO  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah the yz is a very nice bike! Definitely not a bad option. I enjoyed riding it for the time that I did. It didn’t put the power down as smooth as the tse but definitely fun when I wanted that off the line snap

    Would anybody know if the TSE 300 can be tagged ? I mean can it be made street legal ?

      They come with a certificate of origin saying "motorcycle" so my understanding is most states easily plate it

    Idk but i think ur idle jet on carb is to high, can hear from everytime u low the trottle its really high on idle. But prittymuch sweat bike 👍👍

    • @OTR_ENDURO
      @OTR_ENDURO  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I tried adjusting it when we were out there but this stock carb that came with this bike was tough to tune. Just threw a keihin with a 38 jet on it and it’s much much better

      @@OTR_ENDURO yeah i know mikuni carb and copy one its really hard to tune. Its good pick keihin or maybe smartcarb 😀. Btw maybe u can make comparison on fuel consume with other bike or just on mileage, im planing to have buy one of that to but not really much info on reability for it while im selling my ktm 250 to.

    • @OTR_ENDURO
      @OTR_ENDURO  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@justdhay9109 so far it seems my 450 gets slightly better fuel mileage over the 300 2t. However the 300 has a 3.5gallon tank where my 450 has a 2.5 gallon tank so they can cover a similar distance. I will post a video with more details on that though!

      I was gonna say it sounded like a hanging idle, like the pilot or main circuits were not pulling enough fuel. Plan a carb swap and use the hood throttle cable that doesn’t pull out of the top of the Carb 🤙🏼 Following!!

    All these reviews are making me regret going with the 300 4t.

    • @OTR_ENDURO
      @OTR_ENDURO  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn’t regret it, the 3004t is an awesome bike too with a strong reliable engine. If you ask me I’d say you’re on the right path. I went with the 450 for my first Gpx because I wanted a fuel injected, liquid cooled reliable Swiss Army knife of a bike for the stable. Then after some time I added the precision tool to the stable. If you ask me having both is the way to go but I’d always recommend getting the 4t first. Then add something like this to the garage for more tactical riding where a light, luggable 2t will shine. Gpx is a great brand overall and if you’re in a situation where you can only have one of the two, you went with the right choice in my opinion. Unless all you do is tough technical single track enduro, then I’d consider the trade in for the 2t

      @cc3775 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OTR_ENDURO have you ridden many of the big name 300 2t? My buddy has a beta 300 that I rode. I actually felt that bike was too powerful for me and I wasn’t comfortable. I’m curious to how they compare? I had a highly modified KDX220 and that bike was so fun. The TSE250 felt like a better version of that bike. I sold my Husqvarna 3004t because I was always riding the KDX. I bought the GPX 300 4t because I was tired of dealing with carbs and mixing gas. I do miss the fun factor of the woods 2 strokes though.

    • @OTR_ENDURO
      @OTR_ENDURO  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cc3775 I have ridden big brand 2t’s and 4ts before. They are undoubtedly more powerful than the gpx bikes in general. And if you are competitively racing and want every bit of power you can get, you’ll want to go for something like a beta, ktm, husky, etc. However you will be working on and maintaining those machines much more as I’m sure you know. And on the other hand, it’s not all about pure power and speed. Which is why we are starting to see more and more gpx’s running competitively right along side the big brands, and holding their own! I think a bike (at my skill level) you can utilize most if not all of the power on, is way more enjoyable to ride. Plus you can’t beat the reliability and maintenance schedule of these lower compression motors. Gpx has really cracked into a very specific market here that people are starting to pay close attention to. And as a company, you can’t beat the customer service. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them as “one of the big guys” within the next 5-10 years.
