    love your vids and thnx for sharing your knowledge, nathan. i'm a beginner and trying to keep and breed cherries in a 3 gallon low-tech nano tank (marineland contour 3), with lots of plants and some drift wood and mineral rocks. it's taken me 2.5 months of learning, trial and error, and sadly killing a bunch of shrimps in the process. i finally have the water parameters within range, with ph @ 7.1, kh @ 4, and gh @ 7. however, the tds likes to stay around 250. i tried water changes and lowered it to 200; it eventually slowly creeps back up to 250. i don't know if tds will continue to rise; i guess time will tell. so my question is how accurately should i monitor the water parameters, esp. tds? i keep hearing to do less and keep it stable. at which point do i need to lower tds? and besides water changes, what else can i do to lower tds? 2nd question is my water temp fluctuates from 72 to 75 everyday, depending on day/night natural room temp. is that ok? last question, how many shrimp in a 3 gallon tank is too many for them to breed? many thnx, nathan. your fan, david

    Wait... the neos need salts too? I thought the neos were the “tough as nails,” “just temperature acclimate,” “plop & drop” version of the shrimp world... much to consider...

    • @Glasrandkante
      @Glasrandkante 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Depends on the water that you have.
      They are much more hardy than Caridina, but they do even better, if you give them ideal conditions, which means RO-Water + a good mineral salt

    • @whynotaquariums8107
      @whynotaquariums8107 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have kept neos in my tap they were doing good but were having the white ring between their head and tail exoskeleton. Since I changed to ro water + saltyshrimp gh+ kh+ I haven't seen them have it

    • @deadfred821
      @deadfred821 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So what I’m getting is that they’re likely hardy enough to survive most taps, but will better thrive in the supplemented waters?

    Does snowflake food follow the same concept as Shrimp King Snow Pops? I have a sample packet of Snow Pops but I'm currently feeding the Complete sample pack. I'm trying to avoid too many packets open at a time so that the food stays fresh. I only have 4 shrimp and have had them since August.

    • @SooShrimpBreeders
