I always played the abanico as a right hand buzz on 4 and a left hand diddle on the "let" of 4. This after I was taught by a guy from Latin America who played in various authentic bands.
totally different feel and type of music, the bolero is like a romantic slower type, like besame mucho, dos gardenias, sabor a mi,etc.,those are standard boleros, cha cha cha is more uptempo for dancers.
Great content!. And what a beautiful Tama drum kit!

PERFECT!.......Awesome time keeping.

can i ask, what is the difference between the cha cha cha and the bolero?
Keeping that hihat pattern going with this is TOUGH. Wonderful drummer, wonderful lesson!
May i ask for the pianist, how to play a cha cha cha like that!
Does someone have the music notation for this?
Alguien sabe cómo se escribiría esto !!?
Gracias!!
Good cha ha cha
Does anyone recognise that ride?
Qué campanas son ? Por qué quiero comprarme unas
How would this change if I played with a conga player .
Then dont play the toms, or play them in great sync with the congaplayer :-)
You can also play a slow cascara rhythm using crossstick, or a clave, or just cross stick on 2 and 4
Where can I find a notation of what he is playing?

i ritmi latini sono i piu' complicati
Eso no es un cha-cha-chá. Está influenciado por la música norteamericana... que nunca ha sabido tocar bien un cha-cha-chá !!!!!
